No no no, I like DARK chocolate. Most of the women I know like MILK chocolate, which is more cream and sugar than chocolate.

I'm in a great mood yes. The Christians I know presently going through divorces; not so much.

However, a new study released this year published in 'The Good News About Marriage: Debunking Discouraging Myths about Marriage and Divorce' by Shaunti Feldhahn clearly shows that the divorce rate for Christians who attend church regularly AND whom are also involved in regular supportive community have a markedly LOWER divorce rate than both the national divorce rate and uninvolved Christians.

Interestingly, this applied to second marriages as well where a spouse had previously been divorced but remarried a Christian involved in their church and supportive community. You see, second marriages fail at a higher rate than first marriages in the national average but NOT for couples involved in regular church attendance AND supportive Christian fellowship.

The icing on the cake was when George Barna of the Barna group confirmed Shaunti's research. That's important because the Barna Group has been quoted for years by anti-Christian groups for publishing study results which show that Christians (including born again Christians) have about the same rate for divorce as non-Christians.

What has been discovered recently; however, is that a subset of born again Christians who both attend church regularly AND are part of supportive communities (such as a weekly small group fellowship, for example) have a materially lower divorce rate than non-Christians and Christians uninvolved in these two activities.

Knowing that in advance, definitely gives new couples an advantage if they apply it to their marriage and become involved in a healthy local church assembly AND a supportive small group fellowship.

Correct information is good for decision-making. Unicorns, rainbows, old wives tales, etc... not so much.

I'm not against the truth, I'm all for it. I know life isn't all puppies and rainbows. But I also believe in enjoying the blessings we do have and looking to grow more to be like Christ by trying to have a grateful heart.
