So do you have a candidate in mind......who do you think it was or is? Does it not imply that it has to be a world wide figure that is recognizable for ALL the world to wonder after the beast who was, is not and yet is?.......?
Well,,,I have looked at your question for almost a day now(lol),,and I suppose everyone has an idea/opinion of who the beast is. I'm not sure of a good way to give my own opinion, that is it may begin anew an argument that I have heard debated for some time now. It is an odd thing to have watched mankind debate this issue for so long a time. I have across my life heard every theory set forth by different religious bodies based on the information they had at the time they were alive in history.

So as you can imagine if a person lived in the year 2014 then ISIS is a current event and so it is by those who are alive +or- 40 years of this event going to be heavily debated prospect as to being ether the beast or the 10 horns. This makes sense because it's whats right in front of them currently and the mindset of mankind is that the beast is "always coming,in the future",,so things this way it tends to have one dismiss the past events and always train their energy on the things they think are going to happen(eg."ISIS is going to"),,that is everything is surrounded by what we think is future. So this will and always has caused a problem,a good example is Jesus himself and the Jews then present and their opinion of who Christ was(then present before their faces). As we know in their opinion(then present) Jesus was "not the Christ".

So they, then present when Christ was before their face(among them),not seeing he was Christ (looked forward)in time and was of the mind that(same as we see events as something future instead of present tense) saw Christ as a future event to themselves and did not consider that it could have been taking place right in front of their faces. We do the same today we attribute every thing we cannot figure out as (future),we consider our own selves as though we are so intelligent that it is impossible that we are deceived and will ever need to rethink the past and acknowledge the possibility that we have missed the meanings of anything.

I will give a very good past example(not to distant),but never the less there are very few who can remember (it) today, because it is a fixed event only those then alive would have witnessed. In the old days mankind looked forward in time and saw the beast and Israel as future tense to themselves then alive, that is from the destruction of Israel/temple in July 70ad and the then new Book of Revelations all these events were to them(then present) realized as a (Future tense reality),so they from that point have pondered the temple in Israel the Israeli government the beast ect.ect as something that will be fulfilled at some point in the future, and this continued until the modern days(our present).

In the 1500's till the 1900's there was not a "state of Israel" that the bible commentators could reflect on so all of the commentaries will reflect the opinions of the writers as though Israel was future tense (it was not there until 1948) so every thing they wrote will be of the future fulfillment of the regathering of the Hebrew people into the holy land by Jesus at his second coming(they had no Idea Israel would become a nation in 1948),so all of their works will reflect this.

I was born in the cowboy days(lol, not rally),but close enough that is when I grew up their were books written by men in the little boxes behind the pews from authors like b,w,Johnson B.W. Johnson (1833-1894)

yeah I was intrigued by your view of the past/present/future aspect of the beast in Revelation......It does seem like we are on the cusp of big events that seem to be unfolding before our very eyes to say the least.....very, very interesting times for sure HAHAHH '

You know there is something about the beast that should be said, that is we tend to look at the things that we imagine "easily hated",,where in fact scriptural we are deceived by it and it's mark and those who do accept it(the beast and it's mark) as we know "worship it",,so it is not something that mankind will at first glance "hate/be against" that is to actually worship and follow the beast we would if you think about it "love it",,so seeing this it would then be the last place we would look, that is "no one looks at the ones they love as suspect",,,(it is not Christ!!!!,,it is something we were brought up to love),,,if not Jesus would not have warned us about it.

I in the last few paragraphs did state my opinion(I suppose there is a limit on the lenght of characters in a post and I went past it so it was cut off, lol) ,,,maybe I should have not blurted it out I don't know. My opinion was based on arguments I heard in the 40's after ww2,I was young so barely remember the things I heard and the different preachers I heard saying them. I was surprised at first listening to the reasoning as to why some thought to create the state of Israel but I shudder to remember the other sermons giving reasons as to not do it based on scripture. As time went on the state of Israel was created so the arguments of those days are long since forgotten(I was 13-14 back then so remember),,some of them were scripturaly sound arguments against it but today none of the things discussed are remembered. So today 99% of the people alive were raised in a world Israel was set back up so it is "normal" to them,,,but now this is 66 years later from the time when man believed the scriptures were being fulfilled that Jesus was returning and setting up the kingdom on earth and calling the Hebrew's back to Israel, well as we know now his return has not taken place yet,but then it was expected at any time and ww1&ww2 was Armageddon(so they thought).,,,,Today it's a whole new question, that is the things the people believed then that did not come to pass are being re-thought and we are looking at different possible solutions,,I so much am not, that is in 48 we decided to do something because the majority believed "we are the believers and we should do the things the bible say's will happen",that is they may have knowing that the new Jerusalem and the return of the Hebrews and the second coming are written rushed the issue and took it upon their own selves to set it back up and not being patient and waiting for Christ to come and do it took it upon their own selves to do so.

I am saying this and as most of you remember I am also Hebrew so as you can Imagine being both Christian and Hebrew(2 possible marker's on d.n.a.64 test) I by nature was compelled to see this issue from both sides. Well in the end we will I think know the answer but I am surprised that today if the issue is brought up it is "anti-Semitic",that is even to me as a Hebrew/christian I do not want to offend God by not pursuing the correct paths,so do not see open discussions as to the possibilities of mankind jumping the gun so to speak and setting up nations before their time. As we know in that day Christ will return with a shout and the dead will be raised and the new Jerusalem will descend and the kingdom will be set up on earth,,the question is,,,"is there another Israel that God removed in ad70 and was in the pit that a two horned beast said let us set back up in place of the kingdom that was,and now is and the events are unfolding because of it?",,,,that is if this is so there is then one to many and one will be removed at the bringing in of the other,,,,,

No doubt....it seems that many overlook the fact that who ever it is the majority of the world will receive and with adoration and much devotion as God will send strong delusion to this fact. Those who will not receive the love of the truth will in deed worship the MAN of SIN......Satan has his counterfeit and you know...this goes all the way back to the tower of BABEL and the worship of one man (Nimrod)....it also seems this is an ongoing attempt by Satan to bring this about (continually hindered by God) through the rise and fall of Kingdoms where a man was worshipped as god...from Egypt-->Assyria->BABYLON-->Persia-->Greece-->Rome and what Rome devolves into at the end of the age...couple interesting points....

1. Would come to be known as APO-Theosis<---ABOVE GOD <---what led to the fall of Lucifer
2. The Son of a god concept< Alexander the great as the son of Zeus
3. The IMAGE worshipped< Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon etc....

Jesus said to the church in Revelation (Pergamos)....I know thou dwellest where Satan's seat is......What was located in Pergamos....The Throne of Zeus.....

I have come to the following conclusion based upon my last 25 years of study....

Horus (Egypt)-->Bel (Assyria)-->Marduke (Babylon)-->Merodach (Persia)-->Zeus (Greece)-->Jupiter/Zeus (Rome)---> Allah (Ten Toed/Ten Horned Beast) of Daniel/Revelation

It seems the 2 horned beast is the last Pope of a united Greek Orthodox/Roman Catholic Unification and he is the false Prophet who will point to the Beast/Little Horn of Islam....Interesting to note that the last three popes have acknowledge the Koran and even bowed to it and kissed it.......

Just a few thoughts to ponder

yes this is why I stated in my former post the comment about Greece/Rome as being separate that is in the Image of the man (Dan.2) the kingdom is the two legs so they are together in two branches(but still the same). the head of Gold is Babylon but the entire man taken together is the final product "the image set up" so the list that men saw to use in the days before they understood that Israel would be set up they neglected to see a kingdom so they made the list Egypt,Assyria,Babylon, media/ Persia,Greece,Rome where in fact it is almost correct but should be "Egypt,Israel,Assyria,Babylon,Media/Persia,Greece/Rome",,U.S. and then (Israel the 8th),,,it will rule after the u.s. declines because of the war on terrorism and for the most part already does.

The issue with ISIS/Muslims is that they are in our world history and must be also accounted for but if it is brought to light that the Israel set up by mankind in 48 is the beast and the 10 horns are the nations who support Israel and the ISIS/Muslims are the scorpions/other plagues sent to torment the "beast/Israel",,and the nations who support it,which is why they are against them/us and do not fit the scriptures as the beast itself, but if looked at as the plagues then they do.

The only way to discover the identity of the 'Antichrist' is to allow the Bible and history to interpret for you. Any other form of interpretation on this subject (and any other Bible subject for that matter) is only a setup for failure and thousands of theories (as there are today). The link below gives Biblical and historical evidence. Please carefully read and study the information. Opinions and guesses are not important. The truth is what we seek.

Didn't Rome ultimately have two legs, West, then East?

Yes I agree the U.S. will decline and be brought down which will allow for the 8th and final Kingdom....I have described the U.S. as the vehicle that is setting the stage for the end and when she has run her course will be disposed of in a very destructive manner...It does jive as the U.S. is a blending of the Republic aspect of Rome and the Democratic aspect of Greece and the religion we spread dia force, economic pressure etc. and under the banner of Democracy is WORSHIP GOD AS YOU PLEASE<--religious freedom and NOT of God for sure...God is Spirit and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth...not as we please!

I should have given this to bare in what I said in the post Rev.13;18 we are told to "count, calculate, pebble" the "number of the beast",,so it always struck me "count how many they are,eg.beast1,beast2,3,4,5,6,7," as if we are missing one then in rev. 17;7 John is ask "why do you marvel?" that is John was astonished at something he saw that is his nation Israel among them so the angel tells him he will show it to him and reveals the the beast that was and was not is "of the 7 and the 8th",,so there was one that was not being counted.

Another point to ponder is the fact that we can find a little bit of the world empires listed that we are talking about within this nation and the district of COLUMBIA with LIBERTAS on all three rotundas of Government as well as on top of the capitol dome and main port of entry...from the Phallus of the Washington Monument to the APO-THEOSIS of George Washington found in the capitol dome.....most are blind to this though for sure....as this is a Gentile world Power that will be judged by GOD!

It took me a while to locate this part(there is another part also) it was written in the 80's and explains the direction that Israel chose to work on this matter. The u.s. and the Muslim world they(Israel) understood is to large and to powerful for them to overthrow so the plan is/was to have the christian world who are compelled to defend them go to war with the Muslims and when one or the other is defeated by the other then they will seize the moment but to crumble the u.s. is the desire both financially and militarily,so the easiest way is to start a war between the two. here is my concern with it though remember many post back I ask in general to everyone,,"like the egg before the chicken affect,,,do the plagues come before the mark?",,we all know that the plagues/vials are poured out on those who worship the image, have the mark ect. ,,,so the issue is isis, natural disasters ect. are not the plagues/vials ect. (or),,,,were making a really big/huge mistake and the beast, his mark are already here and the plagues/vials ect. are being poured out on us already,,but it has to be one of the two because we know this isn't poured out until the beast comes.

so I don't mean it disrespectful to anyone, but if these are the plagues then who is the two horned beast, who is the little horn, who is Babylon?,that is all of these also come before the plagues/vials also but no one is identifying them in the world(or everyone's guessing),,but if they are already here and the vials/plagues are what we see going on then at this very moment,we already have the mark(but cant figure it out),,and worship the beast(and don't realize it),,, so seeing this may be the fact at this very moment we should/need to "think out of the box",,look at it from angles none before us yet have. There is just to much at risk there are our loved ones, ourselves, our friends, the Christians, even our own Gods disappointment that we left a stone uncovered in search for the correct answer. In such I think God would understand us looking at things that might seem taboo to question, but he is God so he knows we cannot know unless we seek after knowing and will forgive us if we look under the wrong rock when it is nothing evil, but who knows its depth, every man says so and all fall short in the minor details in the end where all of the pieces should fit together.

I have some understanding regarding the questions you ask. Would you be interested in what I have discovered from doing an in-depth amount of study from the Bible and history on these topics? The reality is quite different than most people's perceptions. Let me know.

God Bless

This chart shows how the Muslim/Islam prophecy fits with Biblical prophecy.

There are many articles on the internet that the Vatican created Islam.

I tune into MartusMinistry.org for how Obama and Pope Francis are currently fulfilling prophecy.

The Antichrist will not be roman. He will be a Jew. the false Prophet may be Vatican or any other religion. the fact is we don't know and to speculate is like planting corn that has no root. God is God and if He wanted us to know He would have told us. Just keep your faith in the cross and you hsve nothing to worry about, Amen.

I will assume that you have Biblical and historical evidence to show that the Man of Sin will be a Jewish person. Otherwise you yourself are speculating, which I believe you termed to be "like planting corn that has no root". God does desire for us to know these things. Why else would he inspire John to pen the following:

Revelation 1:1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:"

Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

The word keep in verse 3 is defined in Thayer's Greek Dictionary as:

G5083 (tereo)
1. to attend to carefully, take care of
a. to guard
b. metaphorically to keep, one in the state in which he is
c. to observe
d. to reserve: to undergo something

It is quite dangerous to ignore admonitions in Scripture so that we can "have nothing to worry about". This topic is well worth investigating. If not, then the warnings of Revelation 14 are for nought.

God Bless
