The thought of condemning anyone to hell for unbelief may also be repugnant,

but it is God's truth nevertheless.

God commands us not to revenge, but he revenges.

God is his own law.

Problem is that many have brought God down to mans level.. God is not like us.. He is God.. He is Pure Holiness.. Pure Justice.. Pure Grace and Pure Love. saying i cant imagine condemning.. well we arnt called to condemn.. its easy for God cause He is God.. He is Sovereign and Righteous and all together magnificent.

We see in part here but when we come before Him face to face we are going to fall on our faces in fear. We have lost the fear of the Lord.. to know Him and honour Him.. we so want to be right about our bible knowledge and worshipping our own faith.. we actually forget who gave us our faith to begin with.. drawing from Him and Him alone .. not compromising His truth to suit our flesh but allowing the Spirit to crucify our flesh in order to line up with Gods plan and will for our lives.

yes, I agree that Jesus does change the law, or give new law... I think that's what you're saying...

Awesome verse because it's saying you should think about the Law and talk about ALL THE TIME, not just some of the time.

definitely... though, at this point, I'm thinking that the things we would talk about all the time and post on our doors would be what the spirit says the law says, not so much the actual words...

Dan, earlier on the thread you mentioned that Jesus changed the law. It is true the law is not actually changed, but He did show all by His Example how it is obeyed, and now the Holy Spirit in each of us shows us how to obey the law, however studying and knowin the law should be part of every believer's daily life in Jesus Christ. So many today have taken the freedom we all have in grace as license to teach against the commandments of the Father. He gave them so we could begin to learn to be as He is, for He does tell us to be perfect. He knows no man other than Jesus Christ can be perfect in the flesh, but we are to strive to be so, and He will do the finishing of perfection for each of us. God bless you.....

Jesus, as Lawgiver equal with God, changed the law of retaliation
to a law of non-retaliation.

As Lawgiver, he changed the law on remarriage.

I will agree that Jesus changed the law, or that he had just very interesting interpretations of it... currently, I can't see too much value in disputing the term used, because an interesting enough interpretation, in practice, becomes a change, my opinion there... God bless you, too!

Yes, the Father is the one who told Jesus to change the law of retaliation and remarriage
(Jn 12:49; Mt 5:39, 19:9).

If we consider Jesus Christ's teachings, declarations, the He came not to condemn rather to forgive, and that He desires mercy and not sacrifice, we will understand how the law is to be followed, but it takes having learned what He teaches to understand these sayings. I have posted on the how, why and what several times in this thread alone, not to mention many other threads. Mercy is Christ's choice for all who want mercy.
