Don't go there or you might get raped. No child of God should be in a bar unless God told you to be there.
I believe women should be able to walk down the street naked and not be molested. It is all about male self control. Though, if I saw such a thing I'd likely be injured walking into a hydro pole. :)

You know, in Toronto it is legal for women to appear on the street topless; and some do. I have not heard of anyone being attacked.

It's what you open yourself to as I have posted the biblical reference to it. If you want to go to a bar which is full of demonic impressions then you suffer the consequence and take your chance. As I Posted above and it is Gods word.
1. What you posted doesn't prove the women CHOSE TO GET RAPED just because they went to a bar.
2. You're also completely ignoring the fact that your logic also applies to women who are not raped at bars.

According to your definition of rape, my friend who was raped at the YWCA as a little girl CHOOSE to get raped because she wanted to go to the YWCA without believing someone would rape her. Answer me. Did my friend CHOOSE to get raped? If you say she didn't choose to get raped because she didn't know about the rapist, then you're contradicting your own use of the word "choice" when applied to atheists "choosing" to go to hell when they don't even believe hell exists (and therefore, don't know hell exists). Or are you going to remain consistent and argue that my friend DID choose to get raped because she chose to go to the YWCA?

Well? Which is it?

Choice implies consent. But according to your logic, one can choose something they didn't consent to. And if we use your definition of choice, then we MUST acknowledge the difference between consensual choice and non-consensual choice. Not only are you dodging my points, but you're adding onto your own flawed logic with even more flawed logic. And no, the Bible didn't support a single thing you said.

Even if what you say is true and women who go to bars open themselves up to rape, it's not something they chose. And if we do go by your logic of choice, then they chose it nonsensically.

You're changing the topic slightly, and I shouldn't be correcting your flawed statements that don't address my original point, but you're showing a massive character flaw that makes you feel nothing towards rape victims. You should probably talk to someone about that.

According to God...people are all sinners or, we all choose hell because our hearts are wicked and we are separated from God.
But this definition of hell contradicts the definition we commonly refer to. Nobody chooses to suffer for all eternity. The definition of hell you're referring to is that any consequence of a choice we make, known or unknown, is something we chose. But we don't always choose the consequences of our actions. If we hop in a car and a drunk driver hits us, did we CHOOSE to get into an accident because we CHOSE to drive? No.

We might not like to hear that but...b/c of Adam's sin all of the human race is separated from God. That's why Jesus died so that we don't have to be separated from Him anymore. The only choice, really, is to choose God or stay the way u are. But I am sure u have heard all of this already, being a member of this site and all
We can either accept Jesus as the son of God and our savior, or we can choose not to accept him as our Lord and savior. We can also choose to accept Allah, Vishnu, Krishna, Ra, Odin, Zues, etc. or we can choose not to accept them either. We can either choose we're all brains in jars living in a very convincing dream state, or we can choose not to believe that. We're not limited to two options, we have numerous options. Maybe only one out of all the numerous options are correct, but to suggests we're limited to two is just wrong.

Cycel, God loves you and I came back because I can't leave this alone. I know what you are and you know what I am. I am a preacher of the cross and you are a denier of the cross. Yet your family disagrees with you and you are sticking your head out to be different. Look man, you are in trouble, health wise I know because I know.

I love you man and if I can do anything for you, do not hesitate to ask.

I have to say that He can subside the pain. God bless you and keep you.

We each have our cross.

As a kid I didn't know of anyone else who shared my atheistic views, now it is half the immediate family who thinks as I do. I am not so different any more, and the other half who do believe you would probably not count as true Christians. The times they are a changing.

It is a good bet that anyone my age has something wrong with them.

It seems to me that Percepi has a good argument. There is no shame in admitting that you may have been to hasty.

You know, Cycel, I totally understand what you're saying. I think the problem is that the god that people claim to worship allows them to do things that we can see aren't right, so we reject God instead of realizing that people that are abasing Him and His name are the problem. There has been more damage done to God in His name than any other way.

Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of God the Father. When angels sinned in spite of great knowledge of God, God did not redeem them. They offended God who possesses infinite attributes. The fallen angels or devils will suffer in the prison of hell for infinite time.

A virgin conceived and brought forth a Son, whose Names include Emmanuel, God with us. We call Him, the Lord Jesus Christ. He suffered as a human so that He might bring salvation from eternal imprisonment and suffering to human beings who also sinned against an infinite God. God has no other begotten sons to die for any race except the human race.

Jesus retains his humanity for ever.

By faith and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can become the adopted sons and daughters of God.

I am truly surprised no one has reported this remark by Kerry. It is nasty, vulgar and in poor taste for a supposedly christian person to say.. SMH

59 years old. Raised on a farm and raised hogs and cows. Ran a truck patch. Never heard such a thing.

Because you may have heard it means I am lying if I say I haven't? You should think about what you're saying.

Leannaix, welcome to the forum.

How did you arrive at your own position. :)
I realized I was an atheist after doing a lot of research on the Bible, and on different religions. Eventually, when I saw some things that shook my faith and I had no answer for, I asked myself if my beliefs were justified. So I prayed, and searched, and read the bible. But in the end I found there was no evidence or justification for my beilef in a deity, so I remain unconvinced. I was a devoted Christian before this point, but relied on faith instead of reason, and faith is not a reliable pathway for finding the truth. I care about knowing as many true things as possible, while believing as few false things as I can. Faith is an insufficient way for me to achieve this.

Jesus Christ is the only begotten of the Father. There can be no other Savior for no other race than the human race.

Nicene Creed (A.D. 325 )

This creed was first formulated at the First Ecumenical Council, held at Nicea, located in what is now Turkey, in 325, as a response to the Arian heresy, which denied the divinity of Christ. It was revised at the Second Ecumenical Council, held at Constantinople in 381 as a response to the Macedonian or Pneumatomachian heresy, which denied the divinity of the Holy Spirit.

Text:

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Note: The word "catholic" with a lower case 'c' does not mean the Roman Catholic Church but the universal Christian Church as a whole.

Guilty sinners need a Savior. Sin is transgression against God's honor and commands. Free will creatures will sin. "What can take away our sin and guilt...nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross."

See a Christian is someone whom receives the Holy Spirit from God through the blood of Jesus Christ, so when you say "I was a devoted Christian before this point", I'm sorry to tell you but no you weren't. Being a true Christian is more than a logical decision. Once you are regenerated by Him no amount of evidence can EVER convince you that He's not real. I'm so sorry you were deceived before, but I promise you were never a Christian, you just liked the "idea" of Jesus. Once you are truly saved I don't see how you could ever turn your back on His merciful power. I say this as one who thought I was a Christian for years before I found out all this is more real then all the stuff scientist say proves He doesn't exist, or anything else this world provides. I thought I was a Christian too until I finally and completely broke and He came into me and made everything new. He is real and you will NEVER find Him in a test tube.

I realized some people believe in the "Once saved, Always saved" doctrine. Others believe you can be tuly saved and fall away. I don't care to debate which one because I don't believe there is such thing as a holy spirit. I think "saved" people think they have the holy spirit, like I think I had the holy spirit. The Bible says you know a Christian because those who love Jesus keep his commands. And the ones who love him will be loved by the father. It says You tell a tree by its fruits. In mind and in action, I was as devoted a christian as any here, and believed I was saved by the Holy Spirit and had a relationship with God. It just happens that now, I don't believe any of those things exist, so I agree with you that I certainly never had the spirit. And I don't think anyone else does either. That's kind of par for the course being an unbeliever. No point telling me what I did or did not believe or what I was or wasn't, if we don't even agree that a being necessary for the condition exists.

And I am just pointing out that's where you're wrong. Being saved isn't just a human thought. You "thought" you were saved, a Christian "Knows" they are. The Holy Spirit isn't something you just "think" you have. It is the Almighty SUPERNATURAL Spirit of the Creator of everything that comes into you revealing God to you, without any shadow of a doubt. Not just something we think or can decide we have. You were under a complete deception and what you "think" the Holy Spirit is, is just COMPLETELY wrong. Read how I came to Christ after "thinking" I was a Christian for years, I still thought like you, how we are raised to think from birth. You see me as a slave and think of yourself as free, I see that you're still plugged into the Matrix and under it's strong deception. It's rampant even in the "churches", but the true Church knows. I promise there is more to this world then what scientist can explain to us. I am glad you do have roots in the church though, you may need to call on Him if life ever throws you a curveball like it did me. I do like it that any unbeliever would hang out on here, it's never a bad thing to be around the Word.

Spot on and, IMHO, a most important comment, from some very old notes,

Faith that leads to confidence is faith that KNOWS. You have to have a faith that knows, have assurance, which doesn't come out of feelings, but out of knowledge. "Through the knowledge of God" is not referring to intellectual knowledge, but a personal knowledge, a super knowledge, an experiential knowledge, from the Greek "epignosis" meaning recognition, i.e. (by implication) full discernment, acknowledgement. Our faith is rooted in "to know Him." In Philippians 3:10, Paul states, "That I may know him," not just to know about Him, or know of Him. To have a sure faith is to have a faith that knows Jesus. Pardon, peace, power, and promises are claimed by this super knowledge.

To which I would add is knowledge a gift of the Holy Spirit, eyes that see, ears that hear.
