I heard that the word "potato chip" is actually derived from an ancient Hebrew root that means "deceptively fattening instrument of Satan."

I heard the same thing. I believe that is only true for the hot and spicy ones but I could be wrong. I may be switching to Frito's to be on the safe side.
 
I am munching on some Wavy Lay's Lightly Salted chips. The potato flavor really stands out because of the reduced salt. I did a bag of these wavy dill chips last week but they were not Lay's. They were slightly inferior but still chip worthy nevertheless. The true dill flavor was hard to detect because of the overpowering ranch dressing taste.
