I ran into a squirrel while biking
But truly it wasn't my fault
I was biking too fast
And it jumped t'wards me at the last
Moment and I could not halt
Its head banged into my shin
And what a hard thud it did make
It must have been dazed and confused
For I looked back to conclude
It didn't move like an unused rake
But alas it finally showed life
And sprang off beyond the hedge
I too went my way
To continue my day
Keeping an eye on the sidewalk's edge
But truly it wasn't my fault
I was biking too fast
And it jumped t'wards me at the last
Moment and I could not halt
Its head banged into my shin
And what a hard thud it did make
It must have been dazed and confused
For I looked back to conclude
It didn't move like an unused rake
But alas it finally showed life
And sprang off beyond the hedge
I too went my way
To continue my day
Keeping an eye on the sidewalk's edge
