And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein." (Genesis 9:1-7).
Here in the Old Testament we see that whosever sheds the blood of another man (i.e. murders him), God will require that murderer's life in return. The same is true if an animal were to kill a man. That animal's life would then have to be taken. A life for a life. For animal sacrifices were a part of temporarily atoning or covering for the sins of the Israelites. In the New Testament, Jesus is our ultimate sacrifice who takes away our past sins for good; For Jesus died in my place so as to save me. A life for a life. Jesus (God Almighty in the flesh) loved me enough to die for me. To pay the penalty for my crimes against Him.

God did not want man to shed the blood of another man because man was made in the image of God. However, God the Father loved us so much that He did not want to see us perish, though; So He sent His only begotten Son (Who is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15)) to die in our place. Think about that. Jesus (Who is the image of the invisible God) died for you and me. He was willing to give up His life (To temporarily destroy His image) because He loves me. For we have redemption thru his blood and the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14). His shed blood satisfied God the Father's justice or wrath against man's sin and murder.

Think about that. Jesus (Who is the image of the invisible God) died for you and me. He was willing to give up His life (To temporarily destroy His image) because He loves me.
Isaiah 52:14

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, "And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth." (Genesis 9:8-11).
I find it interesting that God would make a covenant with even the animals. This tells me that God does care and love all of his creation. For not even one sparrow can fall to the ground (i.e. die) without God the Father's consent (Matthew 10:29).
And God said, "This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth." (Genesis 9:12-16).
This is beautiful. I believe the text here is saying that every time a rainbow appears in the clouds, God is remembering His Promise between man and the animals and that He would never destroy the Earth with a Global Flood again. In addition, the text says, "And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it."In other words, every time a rainbow appears, God is looking at it. So the next time you see a rainbow, Smile; And know that God is good on His promises and that He is looking at that very rainbow you are staring at.
And God said unto Noah, "This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth." (Genesis 9:17).
The word "token" here is interesting. It is translated from the Hebrew word "owth" which means a "mark" or a "sign."Hebrew Lexicon :: H226 (KJV)In other words, the "sign" of this covenant (promise) between God and all flesh on the Earth is a rainbow. It was a symbol or a picture in relation to a promise. However, as we both know, the ultimate symbol or picture promise is the Son of Man being lifted up for all to see (At the cross). For the picture of Jesus on the cross offers the promise of salvation and eternal life (John 3:16).

Chapter 3 - Noah's Shame & The Ripple Effects.
(This is a Continuation from Chapter 2 of Noah's Story):

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

And he said,
"Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren."

And he said,
"Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant."

And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. (Genesis 9:20-29).

And (Genesis 9:19b) these are the three sons of Noah: (Genesis 9:19a) Shem, Ham, and Japheth (Genesis 10:1b): and Ham is the father of Canaan. (Genesis 9:18c). And the sons of Noah, (Genesis 9:18a) of them was the whole earth overspread. (Genesis 9:19c).

Chapter 3 - Noah's Shame & The Ripple Effects.
(This is a Continuation from Chapter 2 of Noah's Story):

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken;
While believers today have a liberty in Christ to drink (Romans 14), Scripture commands Christians to be sober (1 Peter 1:13 KJV) (1 Peter 4:7 KJV) (1 Timothy 3:2 KJV) (1 Timothy 3:11 KJV) (Titus 1:8 KJV) (Titus 2:2 KJV) (Titus 2:4 KJV) (Titus 2:6 KJV) (Titus 2:12 KJV) (1 Thessalonians 5:6, 7, 8). For God's Word wants us to be sober minded for our adversary the devil, is a roaring lion, who walks about, seeking those whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 KJV). In fact, Paul says that drunkards shall not inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:10).

So taking this into account: The first message that comes from Noah's drunkenness is that alcoholic wine (or beverages) is that "it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder." (Proverbs 23:32 KJV).

For I am sure Noah knew that drunkenness was not right. The world before had grapes and vineyards and obviously made alcoholic wine and they got drunk from it. For Jesus said, "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark." (Matthew 24:38 KJV) (Also see Matthew 24:48, 49, 50).

Noah knew how that world acted and behaved and he wanted no part of a world filled with such intense sin which was rebellion against God. However, Noah was not perfect and he slipped up into the sin of drunkenness and was not sober-minded like he should have been and the serpent of wine had bit him and his family because he gave it a place within his home or property for it to do so.

(This is a Continuation from Chapter 2 of Noah's Story):

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
"and he was uncovered within his tent."

Noah was uncovered within his tent. First, I wanted to point out that it is possible that the word "uncovered" here may not just be to let us know that Noah was naked, but that he potentially could have had intimate relations with his wife (For the word "uncovered" is used of intimate relations in Leviticus and it also fits the following context of Genesis 9 (More on this in my next comment below)).

On my second point, have you ever heard of the "law of first mention" in the Bible? Well, if you haven't, the "law of first mention" is said to be the principle that requires one to go to that portion of the Scriptures where a doctrine is mentioned for the first time and to study the first occurrence of the same in order to get the fundamental inherent meaning of that doctrine or truth. When we thus see the first appearance, which is usually in the simplest form, we can then examine the doctrine (or truth) in other portions of the Word that were given later. The fundamental concept in the first occurrence remains dominant as a rule, and colors all later additions to that doctrine. In view of this fact, it becomes imperative that we understand the law of first mention.

The book of Genesis has Properly been called the "seed-plot" of the Bible. The word, Genesis, comes from the Greek expression which in its verbal form means to begin, or, to come into existence. This first book of the revelation of God is properly called, therefore, "the book of beginnings."

In Genesis 9, most people believe that Noah got drunk, and naked, which resulted in his two sons covering their father's nakedness. They believe that in the story of Noah's drunkenness in Genesis chapter 9, Ham had uncovered his father's nakedness which then caused Noah to curse Ham's son (Canaan). While this story is partially true in the fact that Noah got drunk and was naked within his tent, most don't bother to ask the question: "Why would Noah curse Ham's child Canaan for what Ham did?"

Well, I believe the fog lifts from the riddle of this question when we read Leviticus 20:11. For in this verse we learn that if one lieth with his father's wife, he has uncovered his father's nakedness. So the phrase "uncovered his father's nakedness" is in relation to sleeping with one's father's wife. In other words, Ham had uncovered Noah's nakedness (i.e. his father's nakedness) by sleeping with Noah's wife. Now, whether Noah's wife enticed Ham or whether Ham forced himself upon his own mother is not spoken of within the text of Genesis 9. It just says Ham uncovered his father's nakedness (Which would mean the nakedness of Noah's wife if we were to apply the Biblical terminology as spoken of in Leviticus 20:11).

However, if we are to ignore the terminology in Leviticus 20:11, and we are to regard the text as only speaking of Noah and not his wife, then we do have to ask several questions, though.

#1. "Why didn't Noah curse Ham instead of Canaan?"
#2. "Why did Noah's sons cover their father's nakedness if he was uncovered within his tent?
#3. "Why didn't Noah have any more children with his wife? (Genesis 10:1 KJV)"

In fact, if we were to look in Scripture at other related places in the Bible we would see similar instances of drunkenness and sexual immorality taking place. For example: We see Lot's daughters enticing their father with wine and they fornicated with him.

This is also a parallel of what is happening now and what will continue take place all the way up to the End Times when Jesus returns, too. For Mystery Babylon (The spiritual harlot church) who is described as a woman has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (Revelation 14:8 KJV); And this woman is drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus (Revelation 17:6 KJV).

This is important to note that it is the nations that fornicated with this spiritual harlot who is drunk with the blood of the saints because the result of the sin of Noah's son Ham had caused a ripple effect of sin into his future generation of children from his fornication with his own mother (which resulted in Canaan and the Canaanites); And the Israelites were later commanded by God to destroy the Canaanites (Deuteronomy 20:17 KJV) for their pagan worship of other gods (Deuteronomy 7:3–5) (Deuteronomy 12:2,3) (Exodus 34:12,13); For these Canaanites were obviously the offspring of Canaan which were the result of an act of sin.

The same thing resulted from the drunkenness and fornication that was caused by Lot's daughters. One of their sons, whose name was Moab, had ended up being the father of the Moabites (Genesis 19:37 KJV) and at times, the Moabites were great enemies of Israel. For it was the Balak, king of Moab, who hired Balaam the prophet, hoping that he could curse Israel (Numbers 22-25). It was Eglon, king of Moab, who oppressed Israel in the days of the Judges (Judges 3:12-30). During the time of Saul and David, Israel established a firm control over Moab, but later kings of Israel were not always able to keep them under Israeli dominance; And thus, they were a thorn in the side of God's people.

Isaiah 15 - The Burden Against Moab

There are some topics of discussions in the Bible that I know are controversial and or hard to accept for some believers. This is definitely one of them. I realize that we as believers can be comfortable with an idea we have in our minds about Scripture. My attempt here is not to change your mind (For that's God's job). My attempt is for you to be a good Berean and keep an open mind and compare Scripture with Scripture yourself to see whether these things be so or not. So while this is my view of the events (Based on the Light of Scripture), that does not mean you have to accept them. Do your own homework and be objective to the facts that Scripture presents us with. Don't try and cater to what your Pastor teaches and or Bible College teaches. Ask God and seek out the truth for yourself. For when we stand before God, we will have to give an answer to Him and not to our Pastors or Bible Colleges.

Anyways, if you are interested in debating this topic, I would encourage you to first read these two articles here:

Pure seed was Noah's race...Incest was Ham's sin...
was Canaan the child of Ham and Noah’s wife | reality is not optional
(Important Note: I am merely agreeing with the truth that the authors had written on this topic. Not all views or beliefs expressed by the authors of these websites equates (or equals) to my views and or beliefs about the Scriptures).

In any event, if you are still in disagreement, then I would encourage you to create a post with one or two sentences as to why you disagree with a link to a thread to debate such a topic.

Thank you.

And may God bless you greatly today.

And he said,
"Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant."
Here we see "Shem" in the line of Christ being blessed by Noah. So the Messianic line continues and is blessed.

And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. (Genesis 9:20-29).
Noah lived a long time even after the Flood. He lived to be 950 years old. That's a really long time. However, compared to eternity, it is nothing but a drop of water in a bucket.

Please explain or expound upon in what you mean here (with Scripture), my friend.
acts 15
28*For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29*That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

God tells Noah not to eat blood, the apostles said something very similar, abstain from blood.

Story #7 - The Story of the Tower of Babel.

~ God spreads mankind over the Earth ~

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

And they said one to another,
"Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly."

And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

And they said,
"Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

And the LORD said,
"Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called "Babel"; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

(Genesis 11:1-9).

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them,
Be fruitful,

and replenish the earth.

also, Noah's sons will become the building blocks for the rest of humans, just as plants, made on the third day with their ability to make food from sunlight, form the energy building blocks for humans today...

gen1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

I sent several PM's to you that this type of study is not acceptable within this thread.

Why are the animals fearing man not a part of the blessing?
Can you explain why the above listed are a blessing using Scripture?

Humans populated the same way (and spread over the Earth) before the Flood just as they did after the Flood. Don't really follow what you are saying here, my friend.

In other words, folks can point out the number of things, but without an explanation it doesn't really mean anything. For it would be like pointing out the fact that my car has four tires; But without explaining why or how my car has four tires, it doesn't really mean anything.

The purpose of this Study is to explain what the text is saying. Anyways, please respect how this Bible Study is done, my friend. I would like to keep this as a normal Bible Study.

And he said,
"Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren."
There is one point I forgot to bring up here in the last chapter of Noah's Story. Noah curses Canaan. Some may ask the question, how is "cursing" a part of the love of God? Well, first, we must establish that cursing is not like the cursing we see in Voodoo; For that type of cursing involves evil or punishment put on a person despite whether or not they deserve it or not. When God, angels, and or God's people cursed things it was always because of the result of the evil that somebody did.

In other words, the word "curse" could be substitued with the phrase: "You will reap what you have sown."

For God sets before each and every person the free will to do good or evil.

Deuteronomy 30:19
"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"

(Also see Genesis 4:7).

To put it to you another way, Noah was prophesying by the Spirit the future ripple effects to Ham's sinful choice that he had made. Noah was not lashing out at Ham in anger (Although he was no doubt upset). Noah was telling Ham what the future result would be for his sin; Which let Ham know that he cannot live any way he pleases. For there are consequences to the choices that we make in this life. Right choices towards God will result in blessings and wrong or bad choices towards God will result in bad consequences. Second, curses are to protect those who are good and or God's people. However, the good news is that with Jesus Christ, we can overcome any curses or bad consequences that we have placed ourselves under. Now, that doesn't mean we will not be without trials, or persecution. What this means is that our lives will not be under any type of condemnation by God (For any type or rebellion we might have against Him). We receive God's grace and mercy by repenting of our sins and accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior (Believing that He has died for our sins, was buried, and had risen from the grave 3 days later). For Jesus defeated the devil at Calvary, and He crushed all sin, death, and curses upon the cross. One can have freedom from any bondage or curse (they have placed themselves under) by accepting and trusting in Jesus.

Also, I want to add one more thing to Noah's Story. Baptism is a picture of how Noah and his family were saved from the Judgment of the Flood. Baptism is not for the removing of the filth from the flesh (i.e. Sin) but it is done as a good conscience towards God (Which is made possible by the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ).

1 Peter 3:20-21 NLT
"those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

In other words, our sins were placed under the water (Judgment) and washed away clean thru Christ's sacrifice and blood. We rise above the waters of Judgment (Taking refuge in the Ark of Christ) rising up with our Lord (In the likeness of His resurrection) which is a picture of the Ark rising with the flood waters until the whole Earth was completely covered.

Baptism is an outward showing or declaration of our faith in Jesus. Our going down under the water is a picture of being buried with Christ and our raising out of the water is like unto His resurrection.

Here is a beautiful video (That I found that to be very emotional):

Before God confounded the language of men at the Tower of Babel, the whole Earth was of one language and of one speech. In other words, the Tower of Babel is the origin of the different languages (with it's adjoining races) that we have today. The reason God confounded the language at the Tower of Babel was because they were refusing God's will to spread over the Earth (Like He commanded); Instead, they decided to make a name for themselves and build a tower unto Heaven. This is a similar thing Lucifer desired.

For he said,
"I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."

In other words, man wanted to be their own god. Building a tower up unto Heaven was man trying to be like the Most High. In fact, we see the men at the Tower of Babel speaking like God when they say, "let us build." which is compared to God saying, "Let us go down" within this very same chapter of our story. In fact, today, man is up to his same old bag of tricks. Men are trying to be their own gods and they are not worshiping God and following His will and plan for their life. Instead they surround themselves with things that they have made with the work of their own hands (Like the men at the Tower of Babel who had started to make a city and a tower out of brick and stone). They were concerned with making a name for themselves.

However, Jesus asked the question,
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36).

In fact, even in churches today, we see men trying to make a name for themselves (and whereby they seek the approval of men) rather than giving all the glory to Jesus Christ (and seeking the approval of God).

However, Jesus said,
"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."
"But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,
so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:16-18 NIV).

In fact, we have religious men today who have mega churches who possess great wealth and nothing is restrained from what they have imagined to do. They are the name and claim it types. They are the make a name for yourself religionists. But what about loving God? What about loving others?

Also there is a parallel between the Tower of Babel and Pentecost, too.

1. The Language.
(a) At the Tower of Babel one language is created into many languages so as to confuse.
(b) Reverse Parallel: At Pentecost the many languages are understood as if they are speaking one language.

2. Scattered Over the Eearth.
(a) In Judgment: God scatters the people across the Earth.
(b) For Salvation: God scatters his people to all nations to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations.

3. Unted Purpose.
(a) Man unites under a prideful agenda to make a name for himself (Trying to be like God).
(b) Jews from different nations or tongues united as one for God's purposes.

4. Reults.
(a) The one Language was confounded into many languages which results in disunity.
(b) Many languages are made as one resulting in unity.

Don't really follow what you are saying here, my friend.
i thought in the pm, you had said that if the bible mentioned a number, we would discuss it... it's a three part blessing in that sentence... "God blessed Noah and his sons..." the part about the animals is in another sentence, and can be seen as a blessing or a statement... Noah and his sons had other implied blessings, too, such as seeedtime and harvest...

Noah had three sons, they form the building blocks for the earth to be replenished... just as plants form the building blocks for life, energy, on earth... plants made on day three...
