I thought it might be nice to have a thread specifically for discussing workouts. Burning calories, strength training, cardio, lifting, Hiit, or whatever else those in Singles do to stay active and healthy.

Tell us your routine, share tips and accomplishments, ask questions, and encourage one another. :)

Who else read this as the cork out thread? I thought it was about wine. Pino noir man myself. Do some heavy lifting on those bad boys. Healthy too. My grandma never needed glasses her whole life. Nope, she always drank straight from the bottle.

Oh, I get it, you worked out the cork from the wine bottle. I took a cork out once with a screwdriver. That did not 'workout' very well.

My daily workout routine includes being on my feet moving around a construction site non-stop for eight hours a day......if I exercised more I would dry up and blow away.

I've not been regular at my workout schedule. I'll be resuming again from next week. Here is my workout routine -

I'm on a muscle gain program. Until the last phase of gymming I wasn't particular about my pre-workout and post-workout diet. I just ate a lot of food (really, a lot) and then worked out. But now I'm tweaking my diet to make sure I eat what's required by my body.

Sunday - rest day
Monday - chest + triceps + shoulders
Tuesday - back + biceps + abs (upper)
Wednesday - Off (rest day)
Thursday - cardio + legs + abs (lower)
Friday - chest + triceps + shoulders
Saturday - back + biceps + abs (upper)
Sunday - Off (rest day)

Right now I'm on the lower end of the optimal weight for my body size, but I would like to gain about 15-20 lbs.
If some of you can send me the excess calories you're shedding, that'll be helpful too.

Is Grace THAT BAD a cook? :p

I'm betting Shour could share some tips on weight gain. His plan, if I recall correctly, involved drinking a whole lot of milk. :p

And I am NOT a bad cook! Oatmeal just has... a lot of fiber...

Oh, I'll ask Shour about his milk-drinking tips for weight gain. :D

And may I ask if you are a bad cook? You didn't reply to that!

I'm currently doing a cardio/strength training mix that includes the rowing machine, weight machines, and free weights. I do a mix of arms/legs/chest/back each time, but focus on arms or legs alternately. Today was arms. I have three routines that I rotate through 2-3 times a week. I was doing Hiit training for a long time, but that recently fell through and I haven't been able to work it back in due to scheduling conflicts.

One of the questions I wanted to ask was about calorie burns. My gym has a smart key that keeps track of my routine and tracks calories based on everything I've done, the amount of weights used, reps, sets, etc in conjunction with my weight/height. Today's burn according to their system was 512 calories for about an hour at the gym. (15 minutes of heavy rowing, then weights.) That seems high to me. I'm wondering how accurate their system might be. I'm counting calories too, and I don't want to mess up and overeat because I didn't burn as much as I thought I did. Could they be counting the slow burn that happens over time? How are calories even counted with strength and weight training?

I answered! See above in slightly smaller text. :p I am a fabulous cook! Not a single person has died yet from my cooking...

Workouts? Calorie counting? Eating healthy food? Did I sleep through a few months? Where are my Christmas gifts?
