Hello guys! It is me again! There is this guy from my home church that I like. Our friends usually pair us and both of us are not comfortable with the idea. Anyway, he will be celebrating his birthday this week and nobody in the church knows that. I want to surprise him on Sunday, but I don't want our friends to make a big deal out of it. I was thinking of buying him a present, but what present? or should I buy him a cake? but if I will buy him a cake on Sunday, our friends would notice.... hmmmm.....

help? Any suggestions?

#I am a bit shy when it comes to liking a guy. I don't want anybody to notice, but I want the other person to feel special.
 
I'd go with something small that you can just hand him without anyone noticing. Perhaps something that made you think of him when you saw it. Or even a card or homemade cookies. Don't spend much money on it. Make it casual. :)

Make him a card. If you know him personally and you are good friends, make him a card yourself.

And cards can be discreetly handed over without any of your friends noticing it.
 
If he's a nerd, thinkgeek.com has some really neat gifts for nerds. Shipping would be a problem though... might not get it to you by next Sunday unless you pay for really fast shipping.

Other than that... tell us some things about him so we'll have something to work with. What does he like, what are his interests, hobbies...

Okay. he is an architecture major, he likes tea, coffee, food, he likes to draw and make backgrounds and decorations for church
 
Get him a bag of 8:00 columbian dark roast coffee. If you don't know whether he grinds his own coffee beans or not, get the kind that is already ground. Yes, 8:00 coffee is a brand name. I have no idea how they came up with that name (why not 6:00? that's when people need coffee, not at 8:00 when they're already on the go...) but it's a pretty good brand of coffee.

Actually, it is a very good brand of coffee and I have drank it many times. I prefer to grind my own coffee beans in the store. Sometimes I munch on the ones that fall out of the bag and miss the grinder. Once I forget to place the bag under the grinder before turning the machine on. The coffee was flying all over the place. I left quickly and grabbed a can of Maxwell House. It is good to the last drop.
 
Err... I have to insert here that Maxwell House is NOT good to any drop. It always tastes... burnt somehow. Can't explain it, but it's not good. My whole family agrees. They even stopped going to IHOP after they started serving that junk.
 
I will still go with Grace's idea of making him something. Maybe it's me because I like things that are handcrafted well. -.-
