I had leftover chili for lunch, very good. Then two hard boiled eggs for a snack right before going to church.

Haven't had dinner yet (only 3:35 p.m. here). Having a salad. not too exciting, unless throwing some leftover roast beef on top of it thrills you.

I didn't really have an actual dinner. I've been on this chicken kick lately, so I was looking for chicken. Or roast beef. Or steak.

A perfectly grilled steak (sorry Lil) from Texas Roadhouse. I don't get to go there often because they are EXPENSIVE. My folks had just gotten back into town after having been on the road for the past month and Mom had a B-day while they were gone.

I had a tomato, pesto and Havarti toasted sandwich with chicken in it and a side of ceasar salad and home-brewed ice tea with raspberry flavoring for dinner at a local restaurant near my church. Very homemade. Much real food. WOW!

Hey Malcyboy!

Well it's morning in India and I'm at office. I just logged in for my morning coffee.. *cough* CC Singles Forum *cough*

I had puttu for breakfast with green grams. Puttu (pronounced as put-too & rhymes with tutu), is a steamed 'cake' made from a mix of rice flour and shredded coconut. It is usually served with ghee (a.k.a. butter oil), chickpea gravy, dry mix of mung beans and pappadum.

How about you? :)

We eat breakfast like a prince, lunch like a king and dinner like a pauper. :)

Our traditional lunch meal, called Onam Sadhya, consists of 25 dishes around the banana leaf. Unfortunately this is vegetarian. There is an un-orthodox variation which has 25 vegetarian dishes + 3 (or 4) non-vegetarian dishes. In extravagant celebrations, there can even be up to 64 dishes in a single meal. :D

Here is a picture of the original vegetarian meal with 25 dishes.

JesusLives: You may be thinking of "gyros" perhaps? They are pronounced kinda-sorta like euros.

Roh_Chris: "We eat breakfast like a prince, lunch like a king and dinner like a pauper."
That's the way to do it. What you eat for breakfast sets the metabolism for the whole day, believe it or not. And at night you don't need a big meal so close to bedtime.
Despite doctors and scientists telling us for DECADES now that breakfast is the most important meal, most people here eat a very light breakfast (or none at all) a middling lunch and a feast for supper. No wonder so many people are overweight. All that food, then we go to bed and it all gets stored instead of burned off.
