It is absolutely necessary that these debates of faith vs works exist as these debates expose the tares and the wheat. To those who think that these debates are just about arguing and are ungodly, and go against the commandments of God, you need to take a closer look and see what's really going on here and see the truth and love being presented. Look through the posts in here and see how many people have stated that they have received the Holy Spirit (Praise God!) through faith, without having done works on the faith side of the fence. Then look at the posts of those promoting works who haven't received the Holy Spirit on the works side of the fence fighting against us. We know that the world hates us just like it hates our God because we speak the truth and stand up against those who oppose it. Let it be known to all of you here that brother Dave is a faithful and true Theophilos doing the right thing in exposing error by edifying and at the same time presenting the truth that God wants us all to see. God bless all His children including His faithful steward Dave.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Amen brother and I appreciate it......I know I get controversial some times and a lot of times the things I say seem to be out of anger and they are not.....the problem with text and or just words on a page is the fact that motive, intention, demeanor etc. cannot be seen nor judged unless the wording is obvious.......anyway....Thanks again and I appreciate the kind words....
May the Lord continue to bless all who will make a rock solid stand on the truth and open the eyes of all who are in darkness and for the record.......if I have been offensive in my words I apologize to all............

In Christ
Dave

I have heard you say this, yet not once prove it. it DOES SAY "repent and be baptized.
well of course, in your english bible.

in the greek however it does not.

it says repent (plural) and be baptised (singular) so the two nouns are not in the same context. thus it can not be repent AND be baptised. that is false.

sad part, the kjv (origional) even attempted to show this.

repent ye (plural form of the word you, spoken t0 everyone)

And you be baptised (singular noun, spoken to only certain induviduals)

it was not until modern bibles they made both words the same.

and they still do not get it.

There seem to be quite a few miss-translated and or transliterated words in the King Jimmy that leads to error.....after all it is translated from and Episcopal view point and was even compared and copied from an earlier ENGLISH translation....the simple truth being that the Hebrew and Koine Greek are way more expressive than the English language and many Greek words with the verb tenses such as an Aorist tense verb cannot be fully understood by English and or given in English......Although many would argue with what I just said....! And this coming from someone who uses a Cambridge Wide Margin, Black Letter, Berkshire Leather King Jimmy

It says it in the Greek as well the English,

"Repent ye" is singular, while "be baptized every one of you" is plural, there is also a change from the second to the third person; this change shows a break in the thought; the first thing they are told to do is make a radical and complete change (this is repentance) then let "each one" be baptized "in the name of Jesus Christ."

This is the same as the command in the commission (Matt. 28:19).

There is no distinction between "eis to onoma" and "en toi onomati" with "baptizo", since "eis" and "en" are really the sam word in origin.

In Acts 10:48 "en toi onomati Iesou Christou" occurs, but "eis to onoma" is found in Acts 8:16 and Acts 19:5. the use of "onoma" means in the name of or with the authority of one, as "eis onoma prophetou" Matt 10:41 (in the name of a prophet)

20 minutes a day and you can get it.......get the following book and study it about 20 minutes a day....Beginning Grammar of the Greek New Testament by Davis

Also, write the Greek word on one side of a flash card and the definition on the other side and go thru once a day....a lot easier than you would think it is.....

wrong..

Ye is the plural form of the word you in old english.

ye: 1 —used originally only as a plural pronoun of the second person in the subjective case

Ye (IPA: /jiː/) was the second-person, plural, personal pronoun (nominative), spelled in Old English as "ge". In Middle English and Early Modern English, it was used to address an equal or superior person. It is also common today in Ireland's Hiberno-English to distinguish from the singular "you".

You should study before you say something..

yeah it is funny, when people do not study before they make comments, then make accusations which simply are not true and if they only looked it up. they would know it.

Just goes to prove they are blinded by their own belief.. not even willing to look things up to see if they may be wrong. which we ALL should do.

Yeah I agree for sure.....what is funny is the fact that YE is old English for YOU ALL which is plural which you stated and is obvious....they have to twist words to get their dogma for sure.......!

Laziness is the mark of an old man. My grandson taught himself when he was fifteen. He kept a diary and didn't want anyone to read it. He's now 25 and still keeps the diary.

Nothing wrong with that for sure.....I just use a couple of books and look up the words and study from the books.....my biggest book and the one I use the most is a Theological Dictionary of the New Testament by Kittel, Friedrich and Bromiley...I also use a Strong's Exhaustive, New Englishman's and a handful of other books.......but occasionally I get lazy and use the translator as well HAHA! :)

Now I didn't go back and read all the posts from where I left off. So ill just refer to the stuff I read. As far as saying dcon may be abrasive well the truth does hurt so I am quite on his side here.

The problem seems to be that certain people are unwilling to accept the truth dcon is stating. If he were to be or say anything unbiblical others, and myself included, would be all over him like "white on snow".

Dcon does something I do also..he uses everything available to him to study the Bible. Some on here state "you cannot rely on what others said" well that's quite a false statement. Other people have had more learning than us so yep we will research what others have said on a particular subject. If you reject the learning of others then you might as well reject all you learned in reading, writing and arithmetic because you learned it from others more learned than you.

Dcon also does another thing I also do..." not by your own understanding". He relies on the Holy Spirit for guidance. If you reject that then...well good luck.

My brother " Son of thunder, lightning, hail and high winds". God's word will not be ignored by us and we will confront any who go against God's word.

On another forum I called the whole "health and wealth" stuff "crap". People said I shouldn't have used such strong language. Lol that's not strong in my book. Others took offense that I called it that. Well if it's not Biblical it is crap!

I'm not defending Dcon for any other reason besides that he speaks the Biblical truth and he also defends Biblical truth just as "abrasive" as I would. End point...the truth hurts hence why it's called the "narrow path".

Let's see who went before him. Packer, Sproul, Geisler, Calvin, Luther, Augustine, Paul and Jesus. Just to name a few. I would say he is in pretty good company. But some of you will reject some of those people as they are just men.

I do find it funny and sad that some rely on their own understanding when God should be first in your thinking and understanding.
