The big idea is to VOTE. If you know just one best choice candidate, then your vote has purpose, and always counts. Here in Arkansas I've been very active in several local campaigns, phone-banking for local races like city board, mayor, JP, the ones that affect citizens directly daily and directly. I'll be voting tomorrow and holding a sign or two, explaining what the issues are to undecided voters. I hope to silence the U.S. Senate's Harry Reid by reversing control of that body, and changing up the committees. Together with House control by red states (R) we can fix problems and stop Obama from ruling like a dictator. The U.S. House needs to be Republican-controlled too. Probably a major issue few people give attention to the federal judge problems and the need to put term limits on them. They are ruling us from the bench. Between the President and his executive orders going around the will of the people, and the fed judges, we really are not a free nation today.
It isn't too late to volunteer to do something for someone running for an important local office. If you don't know, visit a campaign office and ask questions. Having a better city board member can easily result in keeping your property value high as possible. The right one can lead the board to attract more jobs to your area, improving the local economy. Having the party listening the most to God and valuing biblical principles can ultimately keep your church doors open and not padlocked over "anti political correctness sermons" the extremist liberal want stopped regardless of free speech rights.
Search for "(your county) 2014 voting guide" online, read up tonight. Search for a possible "Tea Party" link to your county or city. They are not evil, but made up of a cross-section of regular American citizens. I disagreee with a few of their picks here, and will actually vote for two Democrats. One is running for "children's advocate" in circuit court who isn't using that job to build a political career. I am voting on the basis of known integrity, experience, loving care for all children, and is willing to put the district and his/her job at risk to protect children living in dangerous home environments. The career-minded attorney doesn't ruffle feathers. The problem with politics in that kind of position ought not to be politicized, as unless you frequent the court on behalf of a spouse with child with a drug dealing/addicted spouse, or boyfriend/girlfriend with a child in household, nothing would be known of that matter. Yet, voters will likely just mark one or the other without a clue.
Voting without a clue is not wise. Pray before going in the booth, but do your homework. God gave man the power to self govern. God is not yet ruling mankind by exercising total sovereignty. Humanity was given dominion, a job that has gone wanting among people. Satan and wicked people have all along struggled to keep power over us, limiting liberty and freedom, as that is necessary to preach the gospel world-wide. It might sound odd, but there was a time when most of Russia was deeply Christian. But the people handed over their freedoms little by little one generation at a time until a revolution ended all their freedoms.
