No doubt:)

Is asking forgiveness the same as repentance?
Why is the world messed up?
Because our sins are forgiven under a blanket statement, or because sin continues?

Doesn't repent mean we must address and confront the very things we are repenting about?

Not even close.

Confessing is admitting we have done wrong.

repenting is a change of mind.

I don't get it, How can we repent of the same sin over and over. If we admit it is sin, we can not longer repent of it, we already did (even if we fall into it)

How have we really repented of something, if we continue in the same sin over and over?

Thats what I dont get.

its called the flesh. Paul admitted he kept doing things he did not want to do. And praised God for what God did for him. He repented of those sins, Proven by the fact he knew they were sins. To say he would need to repent every time he committed them would be.... How can you repent on what you already agree is sin?? You can't

Most people commit sins and are not even aware of it.

I understand Paul's statement in admitting he kept doing things he did not want to do.
Though like the old adage says, admitting it is the first step to recovery.
Why then are we instructed to put on the armor of God and the breastplate of righteousness.
Lets say I'm a preacher and I continue to cheat on my wife, because I sweep my guilt under a blanket of unconditional forgiveness...
Can I then go to the congregation and tell people to overlook it because I'm forgiven.
or what if you punch me in the face, and I forgive you, does that mean you may then continue to punch me in the face because I have forgiven you once before?

First off. As paul said, you should be removed from the roll of authority immediately, as soon as you were caught.

second, For anyone struggling with sin. You do as commanded. Confront him of his sin one on one, if that does not help, you bring a witness. if this does not help, you bring the church, if this does not help, you ask to leave and not ocme back (My church does this, and I can only remember once where someone left.. we did not have to kick them out, they left. And a few who left the moment they heard they were being brought in front of the church. Most people do not get to that point though

Can I then go to the congregation and tell people to overlook it because I'm forgiven.

being forgiven, and being allowed to continue is not the same. why are you trying to make it the same?
Does a parent hold off punishment just because they forgive the child. and will he let them just continue in their misbehavior?

or what if you punch me in the face, and I forgive you, does that mean you may then continue to punch me in the face because I have forgiven you once before?
what does this have to do with Gods eternal forgiveness? If I keep punching you you punch back. It does not mean you still do not forgive, or even love me (if you truly loved me to begin with)

Re: CONDITIONAL DOCTRINAL SANITY

Belief will never save anyone, Faith will. And yes, faith only will save a person. Because they trust God.

Wrong, Peter commanded everyone to repent. But only some to be baptised.

Your not thinking my friend.. Why did he only tell some to be baptised. and why?

Belief saves, Jn 3:16; Jn 8:24; Mk 16:16 etc, etc but belief only will not save.

Faith only will not save an impenitent person either.

(Believe and faith come from the same Greek root word with believing a verb form and faith a noun form).

Peter said " be baptized every one of you" The pronoun 'you' is plural. And Peter said be baptized EVERY ONE of you and NOT be baptized SOME of you.

If salvation is not conditional then every one will be saved, Tts 2:11.
wrong..

God offers everyone salvation. But he is not going to force it on you. You have to take it in faith.
But he is not going to make you work for it, If we could work for it He is a fool to send his son to die for us, because we could save ourselves.

again, you people amaze me

not one of us submits ourselves to God enough to be saved.

One can just disobey God instead of submit to Him and yet still be saved?

James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

"Submit" is imperative mood, the command implies man has bot responsibility and accountability if he does not submit.

Rom 10:3 Paul said the fleshly Jews were lost for they
"have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God".
Psa 119:174 all of God's commandments are righteousness so the Jews were lost for not submitting/obeying God's commandments.

being forgiven, and being allowed to continue is not the same.

Thank you, that's precisely the point I was trying to help others understand :)

what does this have to do with Gods eternal forgiveness?
If I keep punching you, you punch back.
It does not mean you still do not forgive, or even love me (if you truly loved me to begin with)
Now I can rejoice we're in agreement.

Seriously? I doOoOoOo!

Who are you to judge this about ANYone?
Don't worry bride as they didn't answer how they know "I don't give everything to God" to me either. Seeing how we give our lives to Christ um... I think that would include everything right? Or do we divy it up? One for you one for me one for you one for me lol

Exactly right eternally-grateful!

Notice how SeaBass ignores "servants of obedience-unto righteousness" (Romans 6:16) and simply stresses "obedience unto righteousness" as if works of obedience that follow faith are unto righteousness, as if we are saved by works.

Notice how mailmandan continues to re-write the bible.

Rom 6:16 - "Obedience unto righteousness" means one must FIRST obey in order to be righteous, as Paul points out in verses 17 and 18 by putting "obeyed form the heart" BEFORE freed from sins/servants of righteousness.

Rom 6:17
"But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you."
Rom 6:18 "Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness"

Paul did not call them "servants of righteousness" until AFTER they first obeyed from the heart. Paul called them "servants of sin" BEFORE they obeyed. Therefore John would say 1 Jn 3:10 he that continues in not doing righteousness (servant of sin) continues to NOT be of God.

It's impossible for one to be a servant of righteousness when they have NEVER served/obeyed righteousness.

---------------

Rom 6:16 each man serves either:

1) sin unto death

or

2) obedience unto righteousness

Which do you serve?

see how these people are? if one could obey and do good works to be righteous, WE WOULD NOT NEED CHRIST.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!

I doubt a new born gave everything to Christ, It takes awhile to give everything to christ, it takes growing in Christ, and learning to trust God in all areas.. Very few people I know have done this, I know many who claim it, but when I watch them, What I see inn their lives does not match what they claim.

This is what I think was being said.

the point is, you can say you give everything to Christ, it does not mean you have.
