im 18 and i decided when i was about 16 that i was going to save myself till i was married. i get people everyday that make fun of me for this and i get people that respect it. but what i don't know if i will ever find is a guy that is ok with not having sex till marriage and could date someone that didn't want to have sex because she was waiting till marriage? if anyone has any advice and opinions on this i could use the help!?!?

I don't think it's that big of a deal whether the person you date has had sex before because we all make mistakes. What is important is that they don't plan on doing it again and will wait for you.

Waiting to get married is the most noble thing a man and woman can do and nothing good ever comes out of premarital sex... Maybe babies... But they're often not given a fair chance at life by comparison. Stick to your guns kid, I live everyday of my life with a willingness to die to preserve that kind of innocence and purity--besides God and his mercy there's nothing more beautiful or rare

i myslef am waiting for maridge.
do not feel pressured into having sexual relations with a guy just beacuse he cant wait until marridge, it is sexually immoral and wrong.
you will be commiting a sin, and him aswell...
wait for marridge before you do anything like that..
or you, will be married in the eys of God to that partner

...

Wow. u are COOL! LoL. ofcourse u will find that girl. Just be patient. There are many good christian men out there. God has him already saved 4 u. but u just need 2 continue 2 be faithful and focus on God. And in due season u will reap ur harvest. lol. God will bless u if u continue 2 bless his ministry. u get me? All i can say is LOVE God and dont mind what your friends tell you. Many ppl that are having sex at a young age are always getting hurt. Especially girls. Trust me. Sex might feel good but pain, hurt, and regret come after. Just wait. god bless :D

I saw this thread and just wanted to send a quick message. I think it is wonderful that you want to wait. I wanted to wait myself but was not only teased but horribly humilliated by my peers. So much so that it is still difficult to recall. Because of this I gave into pressure because I thought no one would ever want me.
It is forgiven now and my wonderful husband has never seen me as anything less than a virgin when married.
But the choices and the hurt still haunt me sometimes.
Always go with what you know to be right, and never ask another to give up what they do not want to. God is good and forgiving, but it is something once lost can never be returned.
It is also a great gift to the one you choose to spend your life with.

As someone who did have sex before marriage, I was in the same boat when I was 16. I said to myself I would save myself but when I was 20 I got mixed up in some bad stuff and ended up doing the deed. Make sure that when you say this, no matter how your life changes, that you stick to it. It's an easy thing to promise yourself when you're young and unattached. Become true to yourself and pray for strength in the times you are tempted. Never put yourself in a situation were that can be compromised.

There are plenty of guys who share the same values as you do.

I'm a 23 year old guy who is a virgin and people's jaws drop when they find this out. I get made fun of. But this is not unusual for christians.

Christianity is counter-cultural. Of course people will make fun of you, because its not 'cool'.

Stick to your beliefs. If you can't find a guy who is not willing to wait for marriage to have sex, then stop looking. Don't settle for some loser. Just wait until you find a good Christian man in a few years.

Don't worry about what the world thinks. The world will perish.

Pray that God would keep you away from tempting situations.

Well, I am 24, and haven't always been a Christian, but I have had 4 non christian relationships before I was saved, and my boyfriends were fine with my choice, I am so happy that I have waited, because I know it will be special for me, and the way God intended when I do get married.

Trust in God, and never settle for someone that tries to push you, the right guy, will have no worries with waiting, because he himself will be waiting too.

If that is all you think that all there is to worry about when having premarital sex is a silly label, then you have some things to think about. I can see that you are 18 and that you say that you have been a Christian all your life. I think that is wonderful.

But I also think that you are wrong, and I hope not headed for a heartbreak. I have been where you have been, most of the people here have. I have had premarital sex and I will regret it until the day I die and stand before God's throne and confess all the sins of my life for his judgement and rewards.

You are right, it doesnt make you a nasty word, or a stereotype, or a different person then who you are. But it still is a sin, no matter what label you slap on it. And that makes you a sinner.

Granted I am not as good at this as I would like to be, but one thing I know, you can not go out and commit a sin thinking you will ask for God's forgiveness when you are done. That is not true repentance. God does not bargain, and he does not compromise. His word says no premarital sex. Thats the end of it.

Of course not, but either your body is available to someone for 'cheap' that involves no tangible commitment from the other person, or it is availble only to someone who has bound himself to you by marriage (a much better deal for you).

But besides that, I was mainly attacking your absurd suggestion that men see women only in terms of their virginity.
