The Transformers movies. Haven't seen TMNT, will not, for the very same reasons. Way to sexualized childhood cartoons.

^^^ Agrees with Arwen.

I grew up on the 80's Transformers cartoon, and while I've loved the special effects in the movies, I've loathed every plot and character they've mustered up on the big screen. I also vehemently objected to Bumblebee's "transformation" because 1. his quips were some of the best in the cartoon (why one earth did they take away his voice), and 2. one of the things I loved best about the Transformers was that any kid could pretend the family station wagon was an Autobot.

Flashy makeovers and government hobnobs took away all the accessibility that made the original premise so much fun. In the original cartoon, the Autobots' everyday allies were everyday blue collar construction workers and even a very smart kid in a wheelchair.

I have a good friend who is, for some reason, enamored with Twilight (Team Jacob, if you must know) even though she's older than I am. She made me watch the first... 2? 3? films (I was in such a daze of wretchedness, I lost track... the things we do for friends), and enthusiastically asked what I'd thought.

I told her I could definitely tell that they were vampire movies...

because I felt as if hours of my life had been sucked away.

Transformers was decent fun but Transformers 2 and 3 were awful.
TMNT was terrible, unlike the original cartoon series.
Riddick was blah, unlike Pitch Black.

Phonebooth-starring colin farrel (the whole 2hrs, the camera never left the phonebooth) i hated myself for sticking around to watch. Maybe the devil got me hooked. Winter's tale-believe in miracles starring collin farrel again...why does he keep making movies that are "total waste of time to watch"?

Have you ever noticed that 9 times out of 10, the trailer/preview is 10 times better than the actual movie???!!!

I've gotten so tired of wasting time on life-draining films that unless it's something I REALLY want to see... I cheat and look up the plot summary on Wikipedia.

If it looks interesting... I'll still rent it (I'm too cheap to spend the $ in the theaters), but otherwise... I'll consider myself saved from yet another pointless time suck.

2001: A Space Odyssey. I found most of the movie to be dull and the evolutionary bull didn't help either. Nor did the incessant drone throughout much of the movie - so annoying. I thought I was going to go crazy! The only saving graces were the visuals, the music and HAL.

Personally, I loved Gravity but different strokes for different folks.

Most new movies. When ya watch the commercial about them & can determine the storyline, theme, & esp. the underlying purpose of the production company, you're burned with it before you watch it.

Is it me, or does it seem several new movies feel like reruns already before you watch them?

Hey you know what's creepy and cool, KT? That mannequin really fits what HAL would look like in real life in my mind hahaha.

There's this movie called Splice...

Never watch that.

I got 3/4 of the way through it and shut it off. And I never do that, no matter how bad the movie is.

Halo 4 Forward unto dawn: 92 minute movie. The first 88 minutes were amazing. The last 4 ripped out my soul.

Good will hunting: Why i watched this movie with the stupid title, i'll never know.

Dear John and Safe Haven: Nicolas sparks, please stop writing books so we don't have to endure the movies....

Silver linings: We get it, you're both mentally retarded.

Karate kid 1,2,3,4, however many there were: Really, after all those movies and you still suck at karate??

Where the red fern grows: I saw this 7 times in 1993 and i haven't stopped crying since.

God's not dead: Did you really make a movie based off a song? Movie bad, song good.

Maid in Manhattan: Jennifer Lopez, NO!

Cast away: I kept imaging what it would be like to rip my tooth out of my mouth for months after

Every movie Kristen Stewart will ever be in from hence forth.

Armageddon and Deep impact: I actually thought the earth was going to be destroyed. Way to get my hopes up.

I was going to mention that one, but I had a feeling no one here would know of it. I felt so stupid for watching that. :)

Anyone who has a weak pancreas or spleen and is worried about splitting open an important organ or gland by laughing, do NOT watch Joel Hodgekins and his two robot pals make fun of B rated movies on MST3000 :) All the older ones with Joel. (not Mike, he's lame)

It's funny how much everyone's tastes are so different...

I guess I'm a little eclectic in that I love all the Disney/Pixar/usual goodie "shiny happy" movies... But I also have a penchant for extremely dark themes as well.

Cristen, you know I adore you but maybe you think I'm a big jerk for this *hangs her head*. I actually really liked Splice and was disappointed that there is not going to be a sequel. Yeah, it was unbearable to watch at times but I really like stories that take modern themes (genetic tampering) and run with it... because it's not as far off as we may think, and the reality is, moral codes and ethics are almost always lagging far behind science and technology.
