Then apply that to the land as you said yourself.
The physical land was the seed for the spiritual land.
Terrestrial swapped for the celestial.

nothing salvic about this promise. God said it was an eternal gift.

did God lie or not?
I thought my post was fairly clear. God's promise to Israel was that through Abraham, they would inherit and bless the entire world, not just a small tract of land the size of New Jersey. I quoted a 1st century Jewish writing that expressed the same belief. Here is another:

Rom4:13 For the promiseto Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world

Since I believe (1) Jesus is Jewish/a descendant of Abraham, (2) he's Israel's messiah and (3) that he is king of the whole world (and all of creation), then it follows that God's promise to Abraham has been actually been fulfilled, which is probably why Paul feels comfortable saying:

2 Cor
1:20 For every one of God’s promises are “Yes” in him

Israel has actually inherited the whole world, and through Israel the world is being blessed. This all happens in and through the messiah, Jesus. The concept is pretty simple. Jesus is Lord - there is no other.

The Jews are always God's chosen people.

The Bible says that God is no respecter of persons but God chose the nation of Israel because of Abraham's obedience to God and for Israel to be a light to the world to lead them to God in the Old Testament as the Church is the light of the world to lead the world to God in the New Testament.

The covenent is with the Jews in the Old Testament, although a Gentile could follow that covenant, and the covenant is with the Jews in the New Testament, although a Gentile can follow that covenant.

The covenant is with the Jews and God allowed the gentiles to be part of it.

Jesus said that salvation is of the Jews, and the truth is you have to be a Jew to be a part of the Church, and that is why the Bible says that when you are saved you become a Jew inward,so if you are a Gentile you become a Jew inward and are part of the Church.

God said that He did not cast off His people that He once foreknew.

God said that if the ordinances in heaven, the stars, the moon, and the sun,are still in effect, then His covenant is with the Jews.

God's covenant is always with the Jews whether they are disobedient or not and one day God will lead them to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah.

God said that is the Jews are disobedient that if they turn to God in the truth even in the latter times God will hear them and operate among them like the old days.

During the tribulation period for 7 years God will turn the Jews to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah and allow all Gentiles that do not love Him to follow the beast kingdom and the Jews will be the only operating nation in the millennial reign of Christ, which God sais he will make a full end of all Gentile nations, which would be their operating governments and power, but He will not make a full end of Israel although they will not be wholly unpunished.

The covenant is always with the Jews and the Gentiles can be a part of it.God said although many Jews were disobedient there was always a remnant that followed God in the truth as is today with Messianic Jews.

During the tribulation period the Jews will rebuild their 3rd temple and go back to animal sacrifices and temple rituals which the man of sin will step in to their temple and tell them to stop animal sacrifices and that he is their God and he will place the abomination of desolation and will spread his ways upon earth for three and one half years, which is witchcraft, nature worship, and no belief in a personal God but he will honor the God of forces.

Duuuuh well I dunno Einstein, perhaps because you asked this?

Lev 26 says that, When the wife comes Back, God will remember his promise to her.

Then I typed God's answer for you so that you wouldn't say something rude or stupid to me again in reply;

(Rom 7:3)
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
(Rom 7:4)
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

What else could YOU possibly think it means than this? Or are you too antisemtic to see straight lol
No, You did not type the answer to me maam.

You typed a spiritual promise which has nothing to do with the physical.

lev 26:
[SUP]40 [/SUP]‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,

[SUP]41 [/SUP]and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies;

if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—

[SUP]42 [/SUP]then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember;

I will remember the land.

Nice try though. Your answer does not fit.

Yeah Isreal is being blessed.

tell that to Romans, the early catholics, Hitler and the islamic militants who want them dead. etc etc

That promise was to all his descendants, not just Israel. We are talking about the promise to Israel. And even that promise has not yet been fulfilled. Jesus is not ruling, and their is not worldwie peace. as promised

Wow. You should write your own Bible with that kind of imagination. Make up something, then say something else holds true because of it lOOOOLLL!
Did Jesus walk up to the disciples after his resurrection in a physical body? or Spiritual body?
Did not the disciples ask Jesus. Are you a ghost? Jesus said! It is I. He then showed the disciples the wounds in his hands.
Doubting Thomas had to go even further to believe that it was Jesus standing in front of them.

I have been reading in the Bible Discussions Forum offline for quite sometime now. At times, it feels kind of stressful, since I have to witness the back-and-forth arguing. But I keep reading, since I do get to learn a lot from these forums, and what I learn helps solidify my faith in Christ, and at the same time, humbles me and brings me in awe of the power of our GOD and HIS Holy Spirit that indwells us True Believers. For I am not a Bible scholar, and yet HE has truly answered my prayers when I sought for HIS wisdom and discernment regarding all things, specially in the study of HIS Word.

I commend the brethren here who fight the good fight of faith, and defend the truth of GOD's a Word against the deceived, the blinded, and the false teachers, who twist Scripture in the hardness of their hearts and their vain imaginings. They are the following brethren, who I've grown to respect as I discover their love for GOD and HIS Holy Word:

These brethren spoke with GODly wisdom and great love in their hearts for GOD's Word. They are not blinded by their biases, nor their hearts hardened by hardships and trials, and truly speak of GOD's truth. Their desire to reach out and painstakingly defend GOD's message, untwisted and made clear, inspires me to fight and defend our faith as well :)

My brethren, I hope and pray that our Holy Father GOD continue to bless all of you with HIS gifts of wisdom, faith, discernment, knowledge, and a heart of purity and love, that you may press on to defend HIS Word against the blinded and the false teachers. Do not ever mind these people who say that claim that you are not preaching HIS Word and gospel, and throwing curses at you.

2 Corinthians 4:1-7King James Version (KJV)

4 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

My stance as to whether GOD's promise to the Jews remains is this: yes, indeed!!!

Our GOD is an unchanging GOD who keeps HIS Word. Those that are HIS are forever HIS, no matter what anyone else might say or believe. And even though it seems unlikely that those same Jews that mock and scorn HIS name, and deny the deity of Christ with every breath could be changed, GOD said HIS Spirit will be upon them after HE reunites them as one nation, and HE will cause them to see that HE is GOD and Christ is HIS Son and our KING, and change their hearts, and lead them into repentance and sanctification. HIS Word is so clear on this!!!

Ezekiel 36 King James Version (KJV)

36 Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord:

2 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:

3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

5 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:

7 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.

9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:

10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:

11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.

13 Thus saith the Lord God; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations:

14 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord God.

15 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord God.

16 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the Lord, and are gone forth out of his land.

21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

33 Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Our GOD, in the fullness of HIS wisdom and power, sovereignty, justice, righteousness, holiness and love, works in all HIS children for HIS honor and glory!!! HE, in HIS awesome grace and mercy, made the Gentile believers as Spiritual Israel. By the blood of our LORD Jesus Christ, the power of HIS Holy Spirit, and the HIS Holy Word that brings life and freedom, we are made HIS, to partake of HIS sweet presence and HIS unfathomable riches when HE grafted us as HIS branches. But HE has not forgotten HIS promise to the Jews, who, although has turned away from HIM and defiled HIS name where they went, HE will indeed restore unto HIM. HE is not doing this for them, but for HIMSELF. HE will work in them powerfully, so that they and the heathen nations surrounding them would know that HE IS THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD. I believe this will be an incredibly powerful testimony of HIS awesome grace, mercy, and love before all men. HE will be magnified and glorified, worshipped and praised because HE is our AWESOME GOD!!!

Though it's not quite that simple. Our resurrected Lord Jesus also appeared to the disciples where the doors were closed (John 20:19). I don't recommend you try this, should you ever lock yourself out.

God has always had what is rightly called GOD'S ETERNAL COVENANT OF GRACE spoken of in Romans 8:29-30 This includes all God's elect persons of all time, in it there is no distinction of peoples by outward standards, no Jew and no Gentile but all one in Christ. Christians are not known by their nationality but by their relationship to The Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation has come to mankind through the Jewish nation, but once we are saved ,since it is a spiritual kingdom, there are no more outward distinctions; But for the operation of the local body of the universal Church of Christ, the distinction of male and female still exist. A woman is not allowed to rule the family nor the Church. It is a mystery, to me why the "nations" are spoken of on the New Earth and New Heavens. We are right to say, "there is no partiality with God." Rom.2:11 Each person will get what they seek, or deserve, good persons go to Heaven and bad persons go to Hell, as Jesus said.in Jh.5:29. Jesus returned in his Glorified body? He was definitely not a Spiritual entity flowing about the room. Jesus had substance in
his body form. I should have tried out the muti quote for the first time.

Call it what you like, but He'd be the ultimate pain in the neck for ADT to do anything about. Again, please don't try to get that flesh and blood of yours past doors, walls or your roof. Okay?

Well explained, I agree with you totally.

COrrect, but the Jews are still Gods "Chosen" even if they all reject him, the covenant God made will always remain in place and always remain valid. Nation of Israel today is restored as the prophecies say it would, the clause of the covenant that those who blessed will be blessed and those who curse will be cursed remains in place. The covenant can never be replaced either. So yes, Christians will get to see heaven etc but how many Jews will? Will they have specail dispensation by God? only God knows that, but the covenant and promise remains in place regardless, it can not be broken.

Thank you sister. The whole point in a forum I'd say is to lift each other up and share ideas.Unfortunately too often it ends up in an argument.I try to just be quiet when it comes to this and avoid further argument.I am just newly married and my husband works out of town.I spend a lot of time alone and decided to reach out instead of getting down and depressed.I have found some great friends here. I didnt come to argue but there are times you have to speak the truth in wisdom. Not attacking,or name calling. I hope I speak to others the way I want them to speak to me.But I will not back down if someone is twisting the Scriptures.I have learned things here and enjoyed fellowship and I hope you will too.Be blessed!

- eternally-gratefull
- peacefulbeliever
- notuptome
- JesusIsAll
- Jason0047
- crossnote
- Dcontroversal
- kaylagrl
- Atwood
- john832

These brethren spoke with GODly wisdom and great love in their hearts for GOD's Word. They are not blinded by their biases, nor their hearts hardened by hardships and trials, and truly speak of GOD's truth. Their desire to reach out and painstakingly defend GOD's message, untwisted and made clear, inspires me to fight and defend our faith as well :)
Wow! Thank you! Here I'd thought the best I'd ever do was a listing in the phone book.

I already said I'm not a preterist and explained my position respectfully in another post so you know where I'm coming from.
All I'm saying is that this everlasting possession is based on the verse likely to be Spiritual Israel which is everlasting habitation in the LORD and it is wide open to be given to the Jews who will embrace it, to join the apostles and prophets.

You are quoting God promising a land for an everlasting possession.
So interpreting it as a physical land, it just sounds contradictory to me.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

The promise is eternal indeed, but the earth isnt. That's all I say.
Everlasting and eternal are not the same.

I used to question this also but I had to step back and really look at the word "everlasting".

The Greek word for everlasting is olam and the range of definitions are: a long duration, for ages and ages, indefinite, unending. It can also mean continuous, perpetual, eternity, and everlasting. As you can see there is a wide range the translator must choose from: Perpetual or continual would not be a correct usage because in looking back at history we see that others besides his descendants have occupied the land. Eternal wouldn't be correct because eternal means without beginning or end. So in light of the above, it would seem that the best choice for translation for us [with a western mindset] to use would be for "an indefinite period of time," or "for ages and ages", or "for a very long duration". If we thought like the Hebrews, with a Hebraic mindset, then we could use "everlasting" for it would merely mean "for as long as it exists" which corresponds with our western mindset - "a very long duration".

So the land will be given to the Jews in the Millennial Kingdom "for as long as it exists", i.e. 1,000 years and then the beginning of truly a land flowing with milk and honey wherein dwelleth righteousness - the New Jerusalem, the new heavens and earth which will last for eternity.

Call it what you like, but He'd be the ultimate pain in the neck for ADT to do anything about. Again, please don't try to get that flesh and blood of yours past doors, walls or your roof. Okay?
Not until I am ready to start a restoration project in my house. Then I would enjoy going through a few doors and walls.:p
