[/COLOR]God did fulfill it, HE TOLD THEM THEY WOULD NOT GET IT.. Why are you going to sit there and ignore that fact?

Does God say something is going to happen, then only partially make it come true? Why would God lie and not do what he said he would do? is that the God yuo want to worship? If so, you can have him, that humanizes him, not dietizes him!!
Sorry EG,

But what you demand is that God does things YOUR way. God is NOT bound to do things my way. His ways are not my way and His thoughts are higher my thoughts,my understanding of these things MUST submit to His understanding and ways. If God so chooses to fulfill the land promise to Abraham SPIRITUALLY it is His right and good will to do so. If God so chooses to use the land promise as a picture of the eternal it is His right because He God.

I posted a section from it...went unanswered early on. ..

Zechariah 14:2-4
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Not yet fulfilled.
I posted God's answer to you in post #373.

Your reply in post #389

Simply your own theory. Why did all the OT have literal fulfillment and now all of a sudden things go Gnostic? Well no wonder, there were even Jews who turned in their own under the Third Reich.
Oh wait, according to SeaBass how do you even know you are a Jew after the flesh?

Here Was my post #373

(1Co 15:46)
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

This principal will NEVER change, which in itself knocks the stuffing out of anything you've ever opined quite frankly.

EVERYONE HELLO IMPORTANT DEMONSTRATION...

Here's how you study to find out what O.T. prophecies mean. You go to the place in the N.T. that talks about it! DOH! Let's try it!

Ok, ALL of Zecharia is about Salvation to Israel, right?

So BOOM!
(Luk 1:54)
He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

(Luk 1:55)
As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

See? Ya can't argue with that haHaaAA! When Jesus came He fulfilled the Covenant of Abraham and His Seed.

You can stand on this and satan can never take it from you friends :) It is a Rock of Salvation knowing this. Israel is Saved.

Now, let's look at some of these verses that also demonstrate Zecharia those verses;

Zechariah 14:3-4
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains: for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the day of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee

(Joh 16:33)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
(1Jn 5:4)
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

(Rev 19:11)
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
(Rev 19:12)
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
(Rev 19:13)
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
(Rev 19:14)
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
(Rev 19:15)
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
(Rev 19:16)
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

(Mat 21:1)
And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

(Mar 11:1)
And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

(Act 1:9)
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

(Act 1:12)
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

(Luk 21:27)
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

(Act 1:8)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

(Mat 25:31)
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

(Eph 2:6)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

(1Th 3:13)
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

(Jud 1:14)
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

(1Co 14:33)
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The land promise is eternal, but it is also conditional based on their faithfulness.

Examples of this would be that Moses when instructed to get the Jews out of Egypt was promised the holy land to, but do to disobeying the Lord when the Lord told Moses to speak to the rock, and Moses struck it instead. Moses was not allowed by the Lord to set foot in the holy land.

Same with Solomon, he already was in the kingdom ( holy land ) and even built the temple, but do to defying the Lord our God and following after pagan wives and customs. The Lord took the kingdom away from him.

The Jews continued to disobey, and when our Lord came in the flesh they denied Him. So the Lord our God gave inheritance to us gentiles as well to spread the good news because they rejected it. The Jews now are not saved unless they accept Jesus as their Messiah.

Jesus has a heavenly body but that doesn't mean it is not physical.
Same holds true for the land.
The Body of Christ? Now that He's entered His Glory? (Lk 24:26)

According to God this is the only ONE Body Jesus has now;

(Rom 12:5)

so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another.

(1Co 10:17)

seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we are all partake of the one bread.

(1Co 12:19)

And if they were all one member, where were the body?
(1Co 12:20)

But now they are many members, but one body.

(Eph 4:4)

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;

(Col 3:15)
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.

(1Co 10:16)
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?

Why are you ignoring Acts 7 and Hebrews 11 which very clearly state that Abraham DID NOT RECEIVE what he was promised?
Why are you clearly ignoring that fact that God himself told Abraham he would not receive it. nor would 4 generations not receive it. which destroys your whole line of thinking. Of course abraham did not recieve it, He was told BEFORE he was even promised it he would not. so whats your problem?

Where does Genesis 15 say that Abraham WOULD NOT receive the promise? It plainly says this

“Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.
why do you only post part of it. do you think I am not going to look? or are you just afraid to admit you might be wrong?

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. [SUP]16 [/SUP]But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

He was never told he would recieve it, Just that he would die an old age, and the fulfillment of his promise would be AFTER the 4th generation.

If God so chooses to use the land promise as a picture of the eternal it is His right because He God.

yep your right.

But if God says it is an eternal promise, and does not keep that promise, then God is a liar. and he is no God at all.

If God just wanted to picture the land as an inheritance of our future with him, He would have just said, I give this to you temporarily, or until or your descendents no longer deserve it because of your sin. He never said such a thing, He said I give it to you and your descendents FOREVER, as an ETERNAL PROMISE.

and PS. If he does not keep his word as an eternal promise. then it is not a very good picture of our eternal reward in heaven, Because God can always change his mind for us either.

I believe it is a picture, a picture of Gods grace, that he gave freely of his mercy to a people. and keeps his promise, even when they have shown to be totally unworthy because of their GREAT sin against him.

You and I have GREAT sins against God. Yet God in his mercy promised to give us ETERNAL LIFE based on HIS MERCY AND GRACE.

the land covenant is a GREAT PICTURE of that, that will be revealed in its fullest, when the sin of Israel has been repented, and god PROVES he keeps his promise.

As Paul said in romans 11. [SUP]28 [/SUP]Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. [SUP]29 [/SUP]For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Here is Genesis 15

15 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:
“Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield,
[SUP][a][/SUP]
your very great reward.
[SUP][b][/SUP]

[SUP]2 [/SUP]But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit
[SUP][c][/SUP] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” [SUP]3 [/SUP]And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring
[SUP][d][/SUP] be.”
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”
[SUP]9 [/SUP]So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. [SUP]15 [/SUP]You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. [SUP]16 [/SUP]In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”
[SUP]17 [/SUP]When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. [SUP]18 [/SUP]On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi
[SUP][e][/SUP] of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates— [SUP]19 [/SUP]the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, [SUP]20 [/SUP]Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, [SUP]21 [/SUP]Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”

Where does God tell Abraham he will not take possession of the land? All God does tell Abraham is that Abraham's descendents will be strangers in a strange land and Abraham will go to his ancestors in peace but not one word about NOT TAKING POSSESSION OF THE LAND. You're reading something into the text that is NOT THERE.

Then can you explain how it is that God DID NOT LIE to Abraham when scripture is so clear that Abraham,Issac,Jacob, the Nation of Israel when they were in Egypt and the wilderness NEVER RECEIVED one square foot of land? (Acts 7 and Hebrews both do state that Abraham NEVER received the land) How is it possible that God did NOT LIE to Abraham?

so where does it say God lied to Abram ?

1Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country,
and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

7
And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said,
(Unto thy seed will I give this land)
and there builded he an altar unto the
Lord, who appeared unto him.

9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country,
dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

God said the fullfilment will not occure till the 4th generation.

Do you honestly think abraham believed God was going to give it to him and his small family at this time? Especially when the people of that land were still following God. He said plainly. the sin of the ammorite is not yet complete. Abraham knew that was when it would be fulfilled. Not before.

ps. Abraham DID love in the land promised him, it is not like he was a slave in Egypt. in fact all of the fathers did, It was during the time of Jacob that his family was moved to egypt.

Go back and read all that I said. The onus is on those that believe that God MUST fulfill all His promises LITERALLY,how He did not lie to Abraham, when God plainly says that Abraham would take possession of the land, and yet both Hebrews 11 and Acts 7 both plainly state that Abraham NEVER possessed one square foot of land, and NEVER RECEIVED what he was promised. It posses a problem because then you have either both Stephen and the writer of Hebrews lying or God lying. (Which of course neither of those is true)

By the way that is NO DIFFERENT then many who believed that God MUST fulfill all the promises of Jesus first coming ACCORDING to their understanding of the promises of a king and messiah. (Which of course did not happen they they wanted it to.)

"Study about the lords rule. the world will not look like it has the past 2000 years. it will be a world of peace"

Micah
5:1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

5:3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

5:4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

5:5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

5:6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

5:7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

5:8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

5:9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

5:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

5:11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

5:12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

5:13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

5:14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

5:15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

Zechariah
14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

14:10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

14:11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

14:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

14:14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

14:15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14:20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

14:21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
Fulfilled of course, to those of us of the Seed of Abraham to whom it was intended.

(Php 4:7)
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Did you actually READ Genesis 15? It was posted.

try verses 6-7

[SUP]7 [/SUP]He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”
4And, behold, the word of the Lordcame unto him, saying,
This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven,
and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

again where did God promise Abram would live there
but promise his seed would

his seed was his heir

So let me get this straight - you are affirming that Jesus is not in fact Lord? He's not king?

Yes, eternally-grateful insists that. It is obvious what we are dealing with here.

And he also said this in post #605...

"it is not a gospel thing, it is a national thing."

And all THESE people "liked" his comments;

"it is not a gospel thing"

and

"Jesus is not ruling"

Quoted. Admitted. By eternally-grateful and those who agree with him.

This is what we are dealing with Here dear Children of Israel. Everyone please Pray for their souls. This is the saddest thing I've ever seen.

Of course His Seed was His heir. That SEED is Christ.

Since the Only Seed of Abraham is Jesus, the ONE SEED, this would be a good place to start for the answer to your question;

(Gal 3:16)
Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Do not need Bride or anyone else to pray for my soul. Thanks just the same.We disagree on replacement teaching. One side believes the church has replaced Israel and the other believes Israel and the Jews are still Gods chosen people. Both sides have Scriptures to back up their opinions. So lets the Lord sort it out instead of condemning people and making a mockery of people we disagree with shall we? Whether you believe the Jews are Gods chosen or not you'd at the very least have to admit that His hand is upon them. They are surrounded by enemies on all sides yet they still stand. They took a desolate desert and made a thriving country. Inspite of persecution and antisemitism from every country they still stand. At the last you'd have to say that's amazing.

What would be the point for someone to do so,when you have already stated that you will only accept a 100% literal fulfillment of that passage? Would you even read it or listen to it if it was laid out in the first place? You have already made it known to me that you would not. If you will not, there is NO POINT for any one to do so. If you have already reached the point that your heart and mind is NOT RECEPTIVE to those things what point is there for anyone to even begin to try to go through it with you?
Your assumptions, not mine. I realize that sometimes a normal reading of the text does not allow for a normal literal interpretation but in this case a literal interpretation fits well with the text. Do you have a response to the Zechariah passage I quoted? I'm listening.
