These past two days have been good. Oddly good. Like I've actually been in a good mood.

The bad thing about good moods, though, is they never last. And I fear that when I crash this time, it's going to be worse than all the other times. Maybe I just need to go to sleep. But I have a feeling I'm right.

I have practice in the morning. Well, technically I need to leave for it in 8 hours. So sleep is next on the agenda. Goodnight.

Today my parents came and picked up my son to take him out hiking. Well, sort of hiking- more like wandering around in the middle of nowhere at a super slow pace, because kids have short legs and all that.

Which leaves me here with just my daughter, who is now taking a nap.

Which means...

I'm freeeeeee to do stuff!!!

Like wash the dishes without any small children sneaking up on me and clinging to my leg. Or vacuum without anyone pulling the plug out of the outlet. Or eat lunch without anyone insisting, even after eating their own sandwich, that mine tastes better and they want to share.

I can see that all of these things that have happened to me in life have made me who I am...it sort of sucks, I didn't want this life, but I don't really have any regrets or second thoughts about who I am and where I'm going anymore.

Don't know if this will mean anything to you Lil, but my high school psychology teacher was heavily into past life regressions and reincarnation and stuff like that and he got a lot of info from a famous psychic who happened to be his friend.

He believed that before we are born we choose our parents and choose our life. That we knew all the challenges we were going to face in this life before we were born and this is the life we chose in order to challenge ourselves because he said that in heaven everything is always perfect and so after awhile we wish to challenge ourselves and come back to live another life. Ok, I don't know if I believe it myself, but its a nice thought.. isn't it?

Thursday I had a falling out with my best friend.
Later I left him a tearful voice mail.
I waited.
I texted him today to see if he had received my voice mail

I may have lost my best friend.
I may have lost my best friend because I spoke to him harshly out of a place of fear, that I allowed it to escalate, and that I took it personal when he dragged my parenting into the argument.

I may have lost my best friend, but I tried to apologize.
And I will give it a little more time and try again.
But in the end, any loss will be that he chose to not forgive me.
I'm imperfect, but I am trying to do my part.

It still sucks either way.

He probably just needs some time. Hang in there.

Well, let me Jesusify it for you:

God is sovereign (I'm no Calvinist, but no one can deny the sovereignty of God). He has us born into a certain time and place for a reason. The things that have happened in my life, while they may not always be "His ultimate and complete will," it makes me who I am today. And God still has His hand in my life and can redeem that and give Him glory. Because it's not about how bad I mess up or what has happened in my life, it's about the power of His redemption. God will always get the glory in the end.

That moment where you find out that you are in some sort of crisis (I don't take the word crisis lightly either) and yet you've been in denial of it for so long. Just ending up paying the price for it, though.

I have in my mind, one of the commonly sung songs that we sing while the congregation goes up for communion.

Be at rest once more, oh my soul
Be at rest once more, oooh my soul
For the Lord has been good
For the Lord has been good, to you.

It's slower and repeats. There is often someone on violin, acoustic guitar and bongos.

Also to poster on basis of Taylor Swift lyrics: You don't know me, because if you knew me you would know that I would never in my life buy a Taylor Swift album...just sayin! :D

Its just that the way the song was described, bongos would've been the last thing I expected. :)
Well I think it's some sort of drum. The musicians are on the left near the front pews. They made a point to put them to the side cus they aren't and shouldn't be the focal point of the service. So I haven't seen them play close enough. Maybe there isn't even a drum lol.
