Being Gay isn't a Sin, The Act carried out is.

I have two friends who are homosexuals.
One of them adopted a child, and was a awesome dad.
Being gay is not a sin? Did not Jesus show us that sin is not merely "the Act" but that it begins in our hearts and minds, that it is his thoughts that make a man unclean? Look at Mark 7.

The word also says..."The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body." 1 Corinthians 6:13

Our hearts and minds are a part of our bodies.

Oh yea...There are plenty of "awesome dads" out there...each one a sinner in need of a saviour.

A comparison was being made between the worse possible economic situation for an adoption and a homosexual adoption. I was commenting on this. By the way, the very worse economic situation would not be allowed to adopt. Thus the question (which would you do) is fallicious.

This didn't answer my question. The reason I wanted to know who it was directed to was because if you were directing your comment towards iitywyhm, then you misread what was going on. Sharp disagrees with gay adoption, and he was also the one that compared it to an extremely harsh situation. Iitywyhm thought this was crazy, but she never even told her opinion on gay adoption. Since I am iitywyhm, I can tell you that I am fine with gay adoption just as much as straight adoption.

I see. It is still a fallicious question, no matter which side posed it.

I am a Christian who suffers from homosexual thoughts sometimes. Though I have never physically acted on the thoughts in any form it is still a sin. I ask God for forgiveness and ask him for help in keeping my mind focused on him and not on sin in my life.

I believe that homosexuals adopting is wrong. Yes heterosexual couples adopt and still sin but homosexuals live in a lifestyle that is constantly in a sin that they will not turn away from. If one or both were Christians and still living in a homosexual lifestyle then God will convict them everyday and remove any spiritual peace from their live. Trust me, I know. (Again, never physically acted, just thought life=still a sin though.) If they continue to mock God by not coming to repentance then they would be very bad parents.

Now if they were not Christians but still living that lifestyle then it would not be good for them to adopt children. I think that non-christians adopting children are bad to begin with because they would not teach their children the Truth-Jesus.

However, I am not as opposed to that as I am about homosexuals adopting children. Either way, God can reach a child no matter what circumstances they are living in.

I sin too much. I really need to cut back =[
You make it sound like you are trying to lose weight. Its not that easy. The deeper the relationship with God is, the less we will even want to sin.

I don't think I have a very good relationship with God then. I enjoy partying too much....which leads to some bad things.

Also, I actually am trying to lose weight..but not today...today is not a good day...I will tomorrow.

Jesus liked to party.
But the two of you might define it differently.
John the Baptist was a wet blanket.

Your profile said that you were saved when you were 6 years old. Why then are you doing things you know is sin? Why are you doing things that are dampening your relationship with God and hurting his feelings?
