Conventional Christendom teaches a Friday crucifixion and Sunday resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Historical records show this doctrine was not taught by the Apostles or the early New Testament Church. This paper examines the Scriptures, history, lunar calendar data, and recent research evidence and lets them provide the truth of the timing. Evidence is presented that Christ’s ministry was for two-and-a-half years, not for three-and-a-halfyears as has sometimes been inferred from some translations of Daniel 9. Jimmy DeYoung, of Prophecy Today .com says Jesus was born on or near Dec. 25. because His cousin,John the Bap. was conceived in Sept.(6 months before Jesus) and Jesus was conceived in March so Jesus would be born in Dec. Of that ?? yr.. Which was probably ,4 bc.. This is the first time I have heard this reasoning, But it sounds good to me. ??? This would make it in the feast of lights. in DEC.. Jesus comes ,the LIGHT of the world ,came during the Feast of lights, sounds good.?? Love to

457 B.C. - The decree went forth to rebuild the city.
445 B.C. - The wall of the city is built in 52 days.
405 B.C. - The rebuilding of the city ends 52 years after the decree went forth.
- 3 B.C. - Christ is born in Bethlehem.
- - - - -- ( Remember that there is no year 0. )
-30 A.D. - Christ is crucified 62 x 7 = 434 years after the rebuilding of the city ends.
- - - - -- ( NOT 434 years after the end of the 7th week - look carefully at Daniel 9:25-26 )
-34 A.D. - Daniel's 70 weeks end 70 x 7 = 490 years after the decree went forth.

Actually, there were four decrees...
1) The Decree of Cyrus in 538BC
Ezr 1:1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
Ezr 1:2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
Ezr 1:3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
2) The Decree of Darius I in 520BC
Ezr 6:1 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
Ezr 6:2 And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:
Ezr 6:3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
3) The Decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus in 457BC
Ezr 7:11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
Ezr 7:12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
Ezr 7:13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.
4) The Decree by Artaxerxes Longimanus on March 5, 444BC
Neh 2:1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.
Neh 2:7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;
Neh 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
We must count 483 years from the decree to the Messiah...
Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
7 weeks (49 days = 49 years - Num 14:34, Ezek 4:6) plus 62 weeks (434 days = 434 years) = 69 weeks = 483 days = 483 years from the decree to the appearance of the Messiah.
Now which decree do we count from?
The First Decree in 538BC? 538BC add 483 years to it and we come to 55BC. Did Christ appear at 55 BC? No, so it was not this decree.
The Second Decree in 520BC? 520BC add 483 years to it and we come to 37BC. Did Christ appear at 37BC? No, so it was not this decree.
The Third Decree in 457BC? 457BC add 483 years to it and we come to 27AD (no year zero). Did Christ appear in 27AD? Yes, His public ministry began in 27AD.
The Fourth Decree in 444BC? 444BC add 483 years to it and we come to 40AD (no year zero). Did Christ appear in 40AD? No His ministry on earth was over and the N.T. church was established and well along by then.
So the only decree we can actually look to as the decree to count from is Artaxerxes Longimanus decree in 457BC.
Following your math here is difficult. You understand about the year zero problem, so 457BC plus 483 years comes to 26AD. Then you add a year for the "no year zero" correction and come to 27AD. Now a 3-1/2 year ministry puts us into the year of 31AD.

A.D. isn't "after death," but actually stands for the Latin phrase "anno domini," which means "in the year of our Lord." Nice try, but no cigar.

Luk 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
So six months from mid June brings us to mid December when Mary becomes pregnant. Nine moths later brings us to mid September of 4 BC. Interestingly enough, the Feast of Trumpets fell on September 22 of 4BC. If I had to be, there is where I would put my money.

The decree was made by Artaxerxes (as seen in Nehemiah 21)
According to records found, King Artaxerxes took power in 465 BC
The decree went on in his 20th year, which would make it year 445 bc the start of his 20th year.
The decree went out in the month of nisan of that year making it 444 BC.
now take the years.. 7 sevens plus 62 sevens = 69 sevens - 69 X 7 = 483 years (however, this is according to the hebrew calendar)
convert hebrew to lunar or roman calendar, we get 476 years.
440 bc - 476 years = 32 years add one to that and you get 33 ad.
I could be off some on my conversion from hebrew, I am just going off what I remember,
ps, daniels 70th week has not ended, Isreal is still in sin

Your using hebrew years in your calculations, (360 days per year plus sabbath years) not roman years (365 days/year)
If your math was correct here, then the Hebrew calendar would never be a year long and the seasons would rotate around. You would lose 5 days a year. In 483 years you would lose 2415 days. (365-360 = 5 days, 5 days per year * 483 years = 2415 days) Therefore the seasons would have revolved around over 6 and 1/2 times. Summer would have been winter 6-1/2 times through this period.
The Hebrew calendar does not work that way. It does not have 360 day years. It works on a 19 year cycle. Each month is a lunar month. Now there is far more to it than just 12 lunar months. Seven of those nineteen years are called Intercalary Years and contain thirteen months. In a nineteen year cycle the calendar resets itself and the seasons remain correct.
In fact this calendar is so accurate that it does not need to add a 29th to day to a 28 day month every four years except years evenly divisible by 400. Also it does not drop seconds out each year. It works.

I will have to get home or keep searching, I have it written down somplace. I have that all figured into my figures.
The fact is (we can know for sure) you are right there were 4 decrees. But only ONE decree was given to rebuild the city, The others only had to do with the wall, the and temple, they did not give authorization to rebuild the city proper.
They also have to end in a time that we know is consistent with Christ's ministry.
By the way, a lunar month is 29 days, 12 hours and 793 parts. So, there are approximately 59 days in 2 lunar months. The New Moon (conjunction) can occur at any time of the day or night, so therefore there are postponements that are added. Sometimes none, sometimes one and sometimes two but never more than two, depending on when the Molad Tishri occurs.
This is governed by the four rules for postponements.

a hebrew calendar (which as used to calculate years in daniels day) was 12 months of 30 days each, which would + 360 days/year.
take that for a rough estimate, you have 360 days times 69 weeks you get 360 X 483 years = 173880 days
devide this by 365 you get 476 years.
granted, this is not taking into account leap years and sabbath years and everything else, but it gets you close.
again if I was home I could give you the exact criteria, I am lookinng for it but can not find it, I will keep looking
