Sin is a cancer, that if allowed to remain, spreads. We have seen this in our own country - with homosexuality (not only this, but it is the topic). As the acceptance of homosexuality increases, so does the number of people who have started practicing it.
America was founded on Christian beliefs, despite what anyone has been told. But we are quickly (and have been for quite some time) becoming a completely God-less country. There are some that used "Separation of Church and State" (by perverting it's original purpose) to remove God from our government. Separation of Church and State was intended to keep a "Church Organization" from running the government (a lesson well learned) and to keep the government from interfering in "Church" matters (also a lesson well learned). The perversion is letting the government push its God-less agendas on the citizens. In no way, form, or fashion does separation of Church and State (in its original form) tell any government employee that they can not display/show/proclaim their beliefs in God.
Job 12:23-25
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“He makes the nations great, then destroys them;
He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]“He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earth’s people
And makes them wander in a pathless waste.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]“They grope in darkness with no light,
And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.
We must understand that we are part of this nation (being Americans) and I suppose, even though I don't see it specifically mentioned in any particular prophecy, that the fall of America will be great (if the world doesn't end first). And if/when it happens this will be quite a miserable place. Though I do feel that it will draw some people to God and others even further into darkness. We see this time and again in the OT, where the children of God turned away, then in time of distress they turned back to God. So I both dread and welcome this time of distress that seems to be unavoidable. For in the coming time of famine, plague, poverty, or whatever, I believe that there will be some saved that otherwise would not be saved.
No, homosexuality is not the only sin. I think that all sexual perversion is evil, as the bible tells us. And sexual immorality/perversion is not the only sin either.
Do not be confused by the teachings of our culture. Saying that sin is sin, is not a hate crime; But it is a plea made in love (by some, other "Christians" are not very loving in their proclamation).
Ezekiel 18:21-23
[SUP]21 [/SUP]“But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die. [SUP]22 [/SUP]All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live. [SUP]23 [/SUP]Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, “rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?
Leviticus 18:19-30
[SUP]19 [/SUP]‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness during her menstrual impurity. [SUP]20 [/SUP]You shall not have intercourse with your neighbor’s wife, to be defiled with her. [SUP]21 [/SUP]You shall not give any of your offspring to offer them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am the Lord. [SUP]22 [/SUP]You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. [SUP]23 [/SUP]Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.[SUP]24 [/SUP]‘Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled. [SUP]25 [/SUP]For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants. [SUP]26 [/SUP]But as for you, you are to keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native, nor the alien who sojourns among you [SUP]27 [/SUP](for the men of the land who have been before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become defiled); [SUP]28 [/SUP]so that the land will not spew you out, should you defile it, as it has spewed out the nation which has been before you. [SUP]29 [/SUP]For whoever does any of these abominations, those persons who do so shall be cut off from among their people. [SUP]30 [/SUP]Thus you are to keep My charge, that you do not practice any of the abominable customs which have been practiced before you, so as not to defile yourselves with them; I am the Lord your God.’”
1 Corinthians 5:9-13
[SUP]9 [/SUP]I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; [SUP]10 [/SUP]I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. [SUP]11 [/SUP]But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? [SUP]13 [/SUP]But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, [SUP]10 [/SUP]nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
