Ok, so let's begin with identifying the Antichrist and comparing with scriptures.
The Antichrist will reveal himself by confirming a covenant with the nation of Israel. "He will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven." Daniel 9:27 (NLT). The one set of seven refers to the last seven years of End Days. The details and nature of this treaty aren't known yet, but speculation implies that in a bid for Middle Eastern peace, Israel will agree to rely on the Antichrist for it's national defence. It is generally accepted that the signing of this accord with Israel will mark the start of the Tribulation period.
The Tribulation is a period of seven years of turmoil & horror which will come upon the world. The time period is also known as Daniel's Seventieth Week, as the concept was laid out by God in the Book of Daniel; Daniel 9:24.
This passage clearly states that a period of 490 years is alloted for the nation of Israel to accomplish God's purposes. It also revealed that 483 of those years has already passed. This prophesy was fulfilled when Jesus Christ appeared 483 years after the command was given to rebuild Jerusalem. Until a ruler - the Anointed One comes. Jerusalem will be built with streets and strong defenses despite the perilous times. The arrival of Jesus Christ fulfilled 69 of the prophetic 7-year periods outlined in the Book of Daniel, leaving a final period remaining.
This time will also witness the 7 Seal Judgements (Rev. 6:1-7) and the 7 Trumpet Judgements (Rev. 8:1-9:21)
The Antichrist is a single figure of concentrated evil, and decieve humanity before the Second Coming of Jesus.
Although much debate is about his nationality, the Book of Daniel says that he will emerge from the people whose armies destroyed the temple (Daniel 9:26). This clearly refers to Titus and the Roman legions in AD 70, but Titus was not the ruler referenced in this verse.
The Antichrist will emerge from the Roman people, thus Italian people.
So basically, although he is not of Italian heritage, the Antichrist will come from Italy. Now there will be a reform or resurrection of the Roman Empire before the establishment of Christ's Millennial Kingdom. The Antichrist will "devour the whole earth", and this way christians can identify him.
The Antichrist is Pope Benedict XVIII.
Here are the reasons why;
*He claims to be the "representative of Christ on Earth". Basically this is a covering name for "Christ's substitute". We all know there can be no substitute for Emmanuel.
*Claims to forgive sins
*Is the 7th king that will become the 8th
*All faiths seek affiliation with the papacy
*Idol worship of relics and statues
*The Roman Catholic Church changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. The sign of her power and Authority and the actual Mark of the Beast.
*Roman Catholic Church causes people to fear and hate God.
*Through the Roman Catholic Church, Satan constantly efforts to misrepresent God, the nature of sin and the real issues at stake in the Great Controversy.
*Pope Benedict XVIII was Nazi-youth in his childhood, nurtured through political channels and rose to power to be head of Roman Catholic Church.
