No, no. Most of us here have seen plenty of movies to know about songs played during war time so as to inspire the troops. There is no indication that this type of actual music itself is aggressive. Music played during war has always been the type of music that was positive and upbeat to inspire the troops. Nowhere does God say in His Word to act aggressive, violent, prideful, and in a way that cannot be understood when singing as a form of worship and praise. Nowhere does God's Word say to play music that was to scare the living daylights out of their enemies. One must insert that type of false thinking into the text.
Really? No one can be lead to true faith in Elohim by a specific flavor of music?
So I guess all those metal heads are just lost with no chance of salvation?
I am half deaf, and have a love for all types of music myself.
For every type of secular music, there is also the same type as Christian music.
There is always an alternative to turn from evil to good.
Both Nathaniel's statement and John 7:24 is NOT in reference to behavior but outward appearances. One's behavior determines what is bad or good on the inside. If you act aggressive, violent, and prideful in your worship of God it is not of God. This shouldn't even be a debate. You should like know that fact. Look at the fruits of the Spirit again. Look at how we are to worship God. Does God ever tell us to act aggressive, violent, and prideful in our praise and worship? Do you think watching horror movies is wrong?
If it is music that is of a spirit of aggression, violence, and pride (Which describes Metal Music).... then yes.
They have a chance of repenting of their sin of acting aggressive, violent, and prideful before the Lord.
I have hearing damage, too. I have ringing in the ears. One ear rings really bad. All to the glory of God (of course). Anyways, it is difficult for me to listen to music loudly. But my thoughts on Scripture on this point were not influenced by my condition. I believed this way before I had any hearing damage. Metal music sends a tone of aggressive, violent, and prideful behavioir. If you listened to this music all your life than you have been conditioned by it. I believe folks who say they don't like Metal music but they think it is wrong to condemn this as a form of worship have not truly let go in loving the things of this world. Many of them do not see it is wrong to watch horror movies full of blood, violence, nudity, sex, etc.

Again, you have to insert something into the text that is not there. This song can be sung without an aggresive, violent, and prideful way and still have impact. Nowhere does God's Word say that we are to be violent, aggresive, and prideful in our praise and worship. A lyrics to a song does not equate to the tone or behavior of the song. You will not find a verse in the Bible that says we arre to act prideful, violent, or aggresive in praising God. Nowhere.
They were not head banging outside the walls of Jericho. They were not dancing around in convulsive manner as if they were demon possessed. They did not sing in a way that they could not be heard. They were not singing in an aggresive, violent, and prideful way; And this was not a time of normal praise and worship. They were in war time. Battle horns of victory and shouting were common in battle. This event in no way compares to Heavy Metal Music one would apply in normal praise and worship. Not even close.
and your judgment of song, disregarding its lyrical content and condemning it solely on the basis of the qualities of its rhythm and tone, is also by 'outward appearance' -- it is like refusing to listen to Peter because of his gruff Galilean accent, no matter what it is he actually has to say.
No, no. The music in and of itself is aggressive, violient, and prideful. No good has ever come out of Heavy Metal music. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. Look at the fruits of Metal music, then get back to me.

I used to to the sense you are referring to, yes, but lost the interest in that type of entertainment, and watch better "horror movies" in the sense of what is depicted in stories like Moses and the Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the end times. I don't need blood and guts to tell me a horror story, no, but it is there, and does happen until all things are fulfilled and is made new.

It has everything to do with it. It is the love of this world. Both Metal music and horror movies share a common bond in being violent, aggresive, confusing, and prideful.
It is not I that will judge anyone here, but it will be the Word of God that will condemn them. Believers are to be new creatures in Christ. They are to love. The apostles never told us to act aggressive, violent, and prideful in our worship. The fruits of the Spirit do not say anything about acting aggressive, violent, and prideful either. We are to love others and we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, and soul. You really can't do that if you are worshiping God aggressively.

where you see pride in some melody and tempo, i am humbled by it, being reminded of the power and majesty of the Lord, who is a warrior.
where you feel a sense of aggression and are troubled by it, i feel zeal and am strengthened by it toward steadfastness.
where you hear violence and flinch at it, i hear the sound of the Lord's enemies being crushed under His feet, and rejoice in His victory.
The LORD will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal;
