Very good summation.
I tend to look at it like this, His Appointed Times are to draw us closer to Him.
Man's appointed times are to draw us away from Him.

It's funny how you believe that celebrating the nativity of Christ draws people away from Him and on another thread you show a double standard by saying it is perfectly normal to praise and worship God by using hard-core heavy metal music.

Very coherent from your part.

I have a real question about all this to put to everyone?

Yah's Appointed Times (Holy Days) or man's appointed times (holidays, also holy days)?
What do you think the Appointed Times that He says are HIS are for?

passover

They shed the blood of the lamb, picturing Christ’s sacrifice to come.
The Passover pictures the death of Christ for the remission of sins that are past.

Feast of unleaved bread

the night to be most remembered, when he delivered then from Egypt(sin)
represents putting away our own sin(transgression of Gods law)

God took the yearly material harvest seasons in ancient Israel
as the picture of the spiritual harvests of souls.

First, is the spring grain harvest. Second, comes the fall harvest

the wave-sheaf offering

the resurrected Christ ascending to heaven to be accepted by His Father

Pentecost

we are merely the firstfruits of the great spiritual harvest!

The New Testament Church of God was founded on the annual sabbath day called “Pentecost,”
or “feast of firstfruits.” Also called the “feast of weeks.”

these feasts, Unleavened Bread and Pentecost, fall at the beginning of the year,
and the great events they picture occur at the very beginning of the plan of salvation!

Feast of Trumpets

“And the Lord spake saying,In the seventh month,in the first day of the month,
shall ye have a sabbath,a memorial [not a shadow] of blowing of (trumpets), an holy convocation.

when Christ shall come again, in clouds, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17).

It shall be “at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall
be raised incorruptible, and we shall [all] be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

Day of Atonement, or the Fast

Wonderful mystery! At-one-ment with God! Man at last made one with his Maker!

Christ putting satan away for 1000 years

[O]n the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you … it is a [day of] solemn assembly;
and ye shall do no servile work therein”

This eighth day, technically a separate feast, is called “the last day, that great day of the feast” (John 7:37).

Notice what Jesus preached about on that day: “If any man thirst, let him come unto me,
and drink. … [O]ut of his belly [innermost being] shall flow rivers of living water.

This was Jesus’s sermon giving the meaning of the Last Great Day!

This is that judgment day mentioned in Matthew 10:15.
It is a time when Gentiles who died in ignorance will be given an opportunity to receive salvation.

This eighth day, which immediately follows the seven days of the Feast of Tabernacles, pictures
the completion of the plan of redemption. It is just prior to the new heaven and the new Earth.

Notice that the “book of life”—typifying salvation—is opened (Revelation 20:12).
Revelation presents the final view of the “judgment day” as the present material heaven and Earth are perishing,

and the faithful are receiving their eternal reward at the throne of Christ.
The wicked—those who disobey—are seen perishing in the lake of fire!

After describing these annual holy days, it says: “These are the feasts of the Lord,
which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations …

eside the sabbaths of the Lord ….” We are, then, to keep these besides the Sabbath of the Lord.

Sunday is the weekly rest day of this modern churchianity, but the Sabbath is the day of the Lord.

Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, and a host of others are the holidays that have come directly from paganism,
but these seven annual holy days are the holy days of God!

Let us forsake the pagan holidays of this world, and observe the true holy days of God.

I celebrate Jesus Christ every single day, don't you? Every day is holy because the Lord is in it. In fact, in Zephaniah 3:17 the Holy Word of Yahweh Most Holy reads:

The LORD your God in your midst is mighty— He will save and He will rejoice over you with joyful delight. He will rest in His love upon you, He will celebrate over you with shouts of joy.

If The Great I AM celebrates over me every single day because He loves me, I want to celebrate Him every single day, too. Hallelujah!! \:D/ Blessed be Your Glorious Name, Jesus!!!

Because Yah never willed these things for us.

2 Kings 17:33-34, "They were taught how they might worship Yahweh, but instead they worshiped their own gods according to the customs of the nations from which they had been brought. To this day, they continue to practice their former pagan customs. They do not reverence Yahweh, nor do they follow the statutes, ordinances, Laws, and commandments which Yahweh had commanded the children of Yaaqob, whom He named Israyl."

so, where does the bible tell us we are NOT to celebrate the birth of Christ or his ressurection?

One the Messiah's birth is during Tabernacles, and I'm not against celebrating the birth of the Messiah, I'm against celebrating pagan/demonic - rituals/holydays.

and yes Yahweh does say that is a no no:

Yeremyah 10:1-6, "Hear the word which Yahweh speaks concerning you, O house of Israyl. This is what Yahweh says: Do not learn the way of the heathen and do not be deceived by the signs of heaven; though the heathen are deceived by them For the religious customs of the peoples are vain; worthless! For one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They decorate it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, so that it will not move; topple over. They are upright, like a palm tree, but they cannot speak; they must be carried, because they cannot go by themselves. Do not give them reverence! They cannot do evil, nor is it in them to do righteousness!"

Deuteronomy 12:29-32, “When Yahweh your Father cuts off the nations from in front of you, and you displace them and live in their land, Be careful not to be ensnared into following them by asking about their gods, saying: How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do the same. You must not worship Yahweh your Father in their way, for every abomination to Yahweh, which He hates, they have done to their gods. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods. Whatsoever I command you, be careful to observe and do it, you shall not add to it, nor take away from it."

Romans 14

13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 16Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

This should be posted at the top of all of the anti-Christmas and anti-Easter threads.

Brother Brainfreeze I want to humbly ask;

DO you take this verse to be a justification for the celebration of Christmas?

The tree can not do evil or good... Your right, Christmas trees do most likely have pagan roots, but I have no faith in a tree, I do not put my trust in a tree, I do not worship a tree, the tree is a symbol, they smell pretty good freshly cut as well.. Next year I might shape my tree as a cross... " showing Jesus has risen " :D

Brother Brainfreeze I want to humbly ask;

DO you take this verse to be a justification for the celebration of Christmas?
No I take this verse to not judge those who do celebrate Christmas ..
As for Halloween .. Different matter to me .. But Christmas .. There's a chance for people to hear about God that wouldn't have... I'm all for it...

This is the first time we have talked I think, I want to say text doesnt convey tone, just want to explore some ideas;

So if this verse is meaning "one cant tell me im wrong for celebrating Christmas" Could I not use the exact same verse to justify celebrating a hindu high holy day and doing it to Yahweh?

So do you believe Jer 10 is talking about "Christmas" (an adapted method)?

But are we not supposed to put a difference between right and wrong?

and even correct a brother or sister that is in error?

Leviticus 19:17, "You shall not hate your neighbor in your heart. Rebuke your brother or your sister frankly, so you will not share in his or her guilt."

Ezekiyl 22:25-26, "There is a conspiracy of her prophets in her midst, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in the midst of her. Her priests have violated My Law, and have profaned My holy things; they have put no difference between the holy and profane, they have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean; they have shut their eyes to the keeping of My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them."

My tone ? .. I don't really know what your trying to say there.. As for Christmas, nobody thinks it has anything to do with hindu, though one can make it about hindu, satan, or whatever else, most people do it for tradition after thanksgiving, to go get a tree to decorate for CHRISTmas, " everyone thinks it has to do with the birth of Jesus " not everyone is doing it for some pagan practice, most people are ignorant to all of this, no preacher taught it to me either, I searched it out on my own a few years ago.. I see nothing wrong with peace, joy, giving, getting together, singing songs about Jesus, and love, talking about Jesus and everything that Christmas brings... I won't take it away from my children ... because someone thinks it means this or that, it stands for Christ.. CHRISTmas... by the way my tree has lights worth about 20 bucks and candy canes for a dollar... no gold and silver, again, I don't worship a tree, sometimes I get flowers for my lady, we don't worship flowers either...

Here is my bottom line question:

The Romans passage, could I use that passage to justify celebrating Yahweh using African tribal rituals?

No, my tone. I wanted you to know I speak openly and freely and not to think I was being short, just trying to explore the topic.
Oh, ok... No brother, your rather a polite guy, and I understand where your coming from a lot of the time.. It's just that we have to strive towards perfection, we are not perfect... We are not servants to sin either.. We are christians walking with Christ, learning along the way.. We fail to meet the law, why we have Christ, the cross, and His precious Blood... We are servants of righteousness, but we are not perfect.. We have to search out the things that are good and righteous .. We must follow Christ.. He knows our hearts and knows our intent of what and why we do things... with our mouth we can say anything, and some of our actions can have double meaning for good and bad... but only God knows the heart, rather it be a good thing or bad, another words we can't cheat God.. He knows if one is worshipping idols and putting things before Him.. No getting around it..

I agree here 100%

1 Corinthians 2:9, "But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the mind of man the things which Yahweh has prepared for those who love Him."

Yahchanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

I confess - I HATE SANTA CLAUS.
Old nick - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Satan Claus is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and the giver of all things wanted, according to that darn song.
I go to my brother's for their Christmas day thing but I really get hurt when I hear all of this satan claus stuff - taking away from Any "Jesus' Birth" meaning. And seeing parents Lie to their children in the stores that I saw just this week again, when the child said, "I want that, Mommy" - she said, "Put it on your list for santa claus". I got tears in these ducts again. Sad to lie to children and then hope they'll believe their parents when they tell them about "Jesus being born on the same day as this Wonderful Omniscient Santa Claus comes bringing all that they've asked for."
Drives me to clogged tear ducts - honestly.

No I am the only one.
Through time they are starting to believe there is a God, but I think they say that to shut me up at times...

Just finding your reply. I'm pretty much the only one as well. I do the Christmas thing with my family because I love them and turn it around like our Brother in post #14 said for my family's sake and other unsaved people.
It was a slow fade sort of thing for me - but I like to celebrate with my Christian friends as they make it holy and it's sweet to hear them sing and see them worship and love one another and get to be with the whole family that's spread out into other States.

It's just hard to do the santa thing - as my last post confessed -- with my family all being santa worshippers - literally - he's everywhere in their houses - even my Dad's but I won't put those up for him - I'll do his trains and tree and other things but he has to put out his darn multiple red-suited usurper gods, himself.

I love the hymns/songs - like "Oh come Immanuel" and a few others and Handel's Messiah - I like blasting that when I'm alone.
I put all Christian stuff outside the front door of my apt and try to get a message in what I put in a frame out there, etc. to focus on Jesus. Seems to be the free-est time to say His Name to unsaved folks and loved ones - in cards, tracts, signs, even gifts, whatever else -- He can use it and that could be why the world is closing down on so much of the Christian use of that day.
God knows who will come to Him and it won't take much for those that He already knows. Time is short, so use what we've got - as we're already being called 'self' righteous - why add to it by risking losing the unsaved as well to that lie. jmo

Was just reading a little more of the beginning of this thread and it was impressed on me to explain to T that our unsaved family is more important than anything else to God and that he may be seeing this whole Deut thing wrong if he really wants to know and really started this thread as a satisfying of his convictions on what the Christian thing to do is.

Regarding our unsaved families or neighbors -

Here's Paul -- read 1Cor 8 - then ...

1Cor 9:19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
1Co 9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
1Co 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
1Co 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
1Co 9:23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
1Co 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
1Co 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
1Co 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1Co 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
1Co 10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
1Co 10:25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
1Co 10:26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
1Co 10:27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
1Co 10:28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
1Co 10:29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
1Co 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1Co 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
1Co 10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many,
that they may be saved.
