I really didn't want to tell anyone this because I am a very private person and don't want people to know what I am going through, but just to prevent further lecturing here I will divulge that someone very close to me is dying. Now please everyone stay off my back!

Thanks JL, but I didn't have a rough day. Whats going on is me just seeing how pathetic my life is, how pathetic I am and how there is nothing but more sadness and misery coming down the pipeline. Its not just something I imagine either...something very sad is happening and there's nothing anyone can do about it and I just don;t know who to be angry at or why I even exist.

Oh and this has nothing to do with love or women. That sort of thing isn't even an issue anymore with me.
My offer still stands to be that listening ear....bad day, rough week, terrible life I an ready willing and able to listen to what you would like to share. Angry I know about angry and hating myself too. I will listen if you want to share....No one should have to suffer in silence. It is o.k. to be angry too by the way...just as long as we don't stay that way....Must go but will check in with you later.... Darlene/JesusLives in our hearts.....

My point was, after spending a day with MY pain, you'll feel blessed to NOT have pain..as least as bad as mine is..and btw I did call 911..
He's right. How dare You try to discredit what someone else is going through just because your situation may be worse. For all of the secular positivity you throw around this site, now you try to guilt and shame others for having problems that you feel are less than yours? That's a horrible way to treat someone. I should know. I used to do it myself. But i grew up, realized how wrong it was and quit doing it.
I also quit comparing myself to others pain. Are there people in the world worse off than me? Yes. Does that make my feelings any less valid? No. So people like, you who think no one has any right to complain because of how your life is going or because you may find it easier to hold on to your faith than some others, in my eyes, lose credibility.
If someone says 'oh man, my porche broke down, now i have to drive the benz, i hate my life', then yeah, they need a readjustment. But when someone struggles with their faith and questions their very existence you don't get to try to guilt and shame them for their feelings. This is why so many people leave the church. They are guilted and shamed for having normal feelings and thoughts. And you can't make up for it with some lame, secular positivity quote.
Maybe your situation is worse, but that doesn't invalidate how he feels.

Ugly, that was a really, REALLY good post.

Zero, you have my contact info. Please feel free to email, call, text, send a carrier pigeon... I don't care. We could even set up a long tin-can-and-string-in-between-line if you would like. Just get a hold of me if you need to talk. I know sometimes when I'm down I don't feel like having any social contact with anyone but if you would like to talk, please give me a holler. Or a bird with a message.

Well... that escalated quickly.

In other news I'm making bread today, so I'll leave singles chat window open just in case anyone comes in.

I'm sorry you're going through a difficult time.... I pray the Lord strengthen you and lift you up above your circumstances and give you rest in your soul. I'm sending these videos of a babbling brook and the other of breezes blowing and birds singing quietly. These are my two favorite sounds in all the world and I hope they bring you a little bit of peace & joy today. :)

Yea well I never asked to be born.

Didn't I hear you mention somewhere that you're some kind of minister? Well if that statement of yours is any indication of your style of ministering then you're certainly not a very good minister.
Proverbs 25:20 As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart.

You are of a heavy heart today so I won't tell you how great life is. And I will excuse you this outburst. Please keep in mind I didn't have much data to work with when I responded to you before.

I just drank an entire pot of coffee.

Have I mentioned that caffeine is one of the many things I'm hyper-sensitive to? So even though it was decaf coffee, I will most likely be up all night.

But I just couldn't resist. It's a rainy day, I plan to stay inside doing chores (I justified it by saying I'll need the extra energy), and with a healthy (or UNhealthy, depnding how you look at it) dose of pumpkin spice creamer, it just tasted SSSOOO good.

I was reminded of the person (forget who it is) who was smelling colors after four shots of espresso.

Well when you get down off the ceiling... might drink some more coffee for church tomorrow. ;)

God, I'm reading these posts and thinking about the pain my friends are in, physical or sadness and hurt we feel. You know our hearts, you know no matter how far apart we are that we care about each other. I am asking you to surround these friends with your love, let them know people are thinking of them and that they are deeply cared for and loved. Jesus take away their pain and struggles, surround them with peace. The holidays are hard for many, especially when someone you love is dying. Please help this person through his struggles. I ask you this in Jesus's name. Amen

I'm sorry if that was long, it was on my heart. God bless you all. I know the pain of losing someone you love and although I am not living with physical pain everyday I can imagine it's awful. Keep each other in prayer.

Ugh...just because I'm not being a jerk on purpose doesn't make it okay that I'm being a jerk. What the heck is my problem the last couple days?! Ugh!

I didn't see you being a jerk. Did you stray into the Bible Discussion forum and lose your cool? (I almost never go there.)

In other news, I have had singles chat logged in all morning and everyone keeps popping in and out. The only action is Oncefallen said "bad kitty" and left before I saw he had come in.

Do y'all people never chat before midnight?

I know, right?? Sheesh! (I'm just teasing.)

I agree with Lynx; I've never had that impression of you. At some point or another, I think the vast majority of us have said something snarky in a moment of impatience and frustration.

One, i was NOT trying to guilt OR shame him into anything. NO I don't think my problems are any more or less important than his or anyone else's..and NO, I do not think his or anyone's problems are less or greater than mine. Everyone has a right to complain about how their life is, all our lives suck at one time or another..I've questioned many times myself why I exist, and I've grappled with losing my faith many times, as we all have.

I have apologized to him, I sympathize with him and what he's going through right now, because it's awful to watch someone close to you wither away. I do hope that he will reach out and trust God right now.

Seriously, Cris, you have got to be one of the most UN-jerkiest people here... In fact, you're one of the nicest, funniest people I've ever encountered here the entire time I've been on the forum.

We all have bad days. And personally... May I say this? I sure hope I'm not offending you. It seems to me like you've been through A LOT in your life, and one thing I really admire about you is that you don't take that out on other people. In fact, your primary interest is always in making other people feel welcome and better about themselves.

I have always thought that you are probably someone who's been held in the corner for so long and told how you "need" to be "good"... polite... respectful (but due to someone else's own rules, not particularly God's)... that WHENEVER you have any kind of emotion that feels a little stronger than normal or "leaks" out (because you're being a normal human being and have held it in for so long), you automatically cut yourself down for sharing your real feelings as committing a mortal sin.

NOTHING could be further from the truth. You're one of the most self-aware, straightforward people here, which is one of the reasons I like you so much.

P.S. I hope I haven't offended you in any way by saying this... Feel free to correct me if I'm totally off-base. This is just my way of saying, "Cristen, you're totally cool, and we understand, and we totally support you."

I mean seriously. You don't even want to know what I'm like when I'm letting MY jerky (beef, or chicken...) side out!

Then again, I did threaten to slap Shour with a piece of beef jerky in chat once. But that's another story. :)

Kim, thank you :)

I do have a hard time knowing the difference between standing up for myself/my beliefs/speaking my mind, and just being...you know, a jerk to people. So it's reassuring that I don't come across as badly as I feared.
