We don't judge Judas, Jesus judged Judas to perdition.
Judas took his life in despair, not in a saving faith and hope in Jesus Christ.
It is profitable for us to know the difference between godly sorrow (Biblical repentance) and worldly sorrow (bringing death).

you understand well what 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 means -- we both know this is true!
how do i know whether in the end Judas believed He is Lord or not? i know he tried to find his own life, and lost it - and i know he repented and then lost his own life, but was it for Christ's sake? i can only speculate. it was to fulfill prophecy about Christ, so maybe it was - but like i'm sure you'll agree, the only "suicide" anyone can justify is our baptism into Christ's death on the cross, so maybe it wasn't - but Judas died before that mystery was revealed to the world.
i have more sorrow than animosity for the man. all i can say is that i hope he understood the truth before his last breath.
