Does anyone else go to a church that seems to be full of married ppl of all ages that only hang out with other married ppl? I am 35 and still finding it hard to find single ppl my age at church? Where can i find other single ppl my age to hang out with?

i have the same prob at my church. so i started attending a youth group at another church. u could look for a singles group at another church.

I just turned 38 and have found the same prob. Most of the single adults in our church are in the their early 20's, people my age ussually are married with children. The few around my age who are single seem to be so career / success driven that I sometimes I can't help but wonder why they are in church in the first place.

I can completely relate to this thread in each and every way! If anyone has some good suggestions at to where to find Christians in the same boat (single, late 20's to 30's)--I'm all ears!!

Let me tell you MY GRIEVANCE

I was living in England and going to a church. They had various groups

Toodlers, Kids, Teens, Under 30s, Over 50s

The only other group was 'Families'

I was in hospital for weeks. This church had a hospital visiting ministry. They knew I was there. I did not get a visit.
I am feeling angry just talking about it.

Let's name and shame the church... AOG? Anglican? I have been ignored many many times, and I don't need to go to hospital to be ignored. I did not go to this church for 3 years and I met one of them by chance one day and she didn't realise I hadn't been for the last 3 years.

Yeah. I was sick(at home) over Christmas and afterward one said something about. Haven't seen you in awhile.

In Australia Baptist churches don't have elders. In Bournemouth they do.

Now I told you plenty.

i go to a stupid church with stupid people

i hope that helps

I go to a non-denominational church with a congregation of about 15K in the Dallas area. They have many groups of singles, divorce recovery and other groups. Now I should say it is not dating groups, mainly for people in the same age group to meet, talk, study about the Lord (not bible class). However, some from these groups get together for activites outside the church. Anything from getting together at parks to attending events. This in turn has brought many people together where they found thier sugnificant other. So in a way, they get to know each through Christ at Church and make that Spiritial connection. I am sure their are plenty of other Church's out their like mine.

when you feel that you are alone, and friendless in your church, it's time to stop going to church.

Yeah... the church is full of people like you and me. Fallible sinners that is.

yeah, full of a bunch of sinners that are unsympathetic, jealous, and judgemental.
If you go to church, you MUST BE PERFECT. you MUST BE AS JESUS WAS.
These are the words of Him himself, you CANNOT disobey!

your such an optomist, how do you stand it

I sympathize with everyone here. I have the same problem as well. Unfortunately, unless you attend a huge congregation, there just aren't that many single people in most churches between 30-55. Many churches not only don't sympathize with singles, they don't like them. It's a shame because in many cases, new converts to the church give up friends when they make their commitment to the Lord.
