Wow! It´s another year in my life (yours too).

What things are those we´re saying goodbye this year?

What are those things you don´t wnat to see again or those you don´t want to do more?

I´m amazed of the amount of things I learned here on CC and out of here, the tiny world I live in.

One of the things I´d like to say goodbye is the "social" communism Venezuela is living now.

I´d like to wave goodbye a couple of bad experiences that helped me grow insede (much more than I thought I could grow).

There are things I don´t want to gave goodbye, like those friends I miss here or elsewhere, but life has its ways to close and open doors.

Feel free to say it (just for you! if you want to)

Don't want: repeat mistakes, regression, stagnation

Do want: growth, a change of environment

Happy [approaching] new year, secularhermit!

2014 What a year....Started like any normal year with me hating valentines day my most un-favorite holiday of the year and for some reason this year was harder than most so much so that my daughter bought me some really beautiful flowers which lifted my spirits and I told her she just didn't know how much those flowers meant to me this year.

Then just kept doing what I normally do posting on CC and making friends trying to help someone or pray with them when I could. Then there was this lonely guy who had lost his wife and I could tell he was so very down and rightly so with such a loss.

I never dreamed I would end the year married to tourist but I am so thankful that I am and that God heard the cry of a heart that was too afraid to pray for someone to be a mate/partner/husband. I just didn't know what to pray for and so I really didn't. Tourist was praying though and God did answer his prayers. So even though 2014 is ending in many ways it is a new and happy beginning for me and I just might really enjoy valentines day in 2015 for the first time in many, many years. So goodbye 2014 and hello new life and beginning for the rest of our lives as Mr. & Mrs. Tourist.

I like those words as corolary, Siberian! (Are those yours, by the way?)

Hmm! The change of the enviroment?

Physically?

Emotionally? (Both)

I read you -today- somewhere else and I see you are doing it (both) just by starting with the inside out (Congrats!)

Today I felt your inner beauty, sister in Christ.

Did you call me a sister?? Lol. Thank you for the sentiment, though!

Yes, a change of environment, as in my surroundings. I believe traveling and experiencing other sub cultures within my own culture will help me grow as I learn from different people and pursue new experiences. In a sense, I suppose that means emotionally, also. :)

And no, those are the words of Mr. Neil Peart (I quote him often).

secularhermit, what is something you hope to personally accomplish in 2015?

I think that nothing in particular...

a) I´ll be happy if I get a power machine to avoid coming to my mother´s to use my computer here, in Caracas.

b) A political/emotional -renewed- change of mind would be welcome, as you expect yours, but it seems to depend on other´s people´s mind, so I can delete, easily point "b" to think the way and old man, like Kung Fu´s teacher once said: he solely liked to make a special trip, before he died", as blind as he was...

At the start of 2014 I found myself in a isolated place of despair and loneliness. Tragedy struck early and left my life in shambles and my heart torn asunder. Little did I know the plans that God had in store for me. I prayed for happiness and God provided me with my best friend in life, the sweet wonderful woman who became my wife. Who knows what 2015 will bring, all I know is that I am no longer lonely and there is happiness in my heart. There is now great hope and expectations and adventure awaits. It is good to be alive.

Amen! Happy for you both, tourist. :)

I ate some mac and cheese on a few occasions.
Good times.

I´m sorry to hear that!

I wish I knew how to help you, as much as I knew or could.

Whatever thing "future" may bring in, I´m proud of having met (virtually) a couple of people I´m going to seek when my breath fades away.

"No pain, no gain" and time is good teaching people endurance, loyalty, and a couple of things days do not register in a new calendar.

Let´s say "today" is Jan 24th 2015 or 4th of Sh'vat, 5775

But nothing is really new:

Ecc 1:9 All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. The same things will be done that have always been done. There is nothing new in this life.
