Ah, LMMS. I had such high hopes for it. It was going to be the freeware I would recommend to newbies who were too broke to buy a DAW. Alas, it never really worked very well.

I use Reaper myself. Much functionality, low price, works well.

Just today I installed a demo of Ableton Live, which has a very different workflow but I'm looking at using it on stage at church. Not for DJ stuff, for soundtracks that I might want to go back and sing the first verse again. I could just put markers down in Reaper, but it doesn't do so well with jumping around in the song in real time. And if I export a soundtrack to a standard audio file, it feels somewhat constraining to just sing what's on the soundtrack, and when it's over it's over. If the Spirit moves I want to be able to keep singing if I need to.

Utah: You could also pass as a Linux nerd, with all those penguins...

SoulWeaver: Pretty good stuff. What's your preferred DAW?

In local news I have a large collection of freeware programs. The default web browser, music player, video player, etc. that come with Windows... well, frankly they stink. I find programs that do the job better and do it for free. CD burner, web browser, drive emulator, you name it, there's freeware for it. Do they still sell programs at Wal-Mart and Best Buy? I wouldn't know.
Google Linux Nerds and you'll see such a nerd with a stuffed penguin! LOL! :D

SoulWeaver: In the interest of not derailing this thread further, if I started a music tech thread over in the music forum would you participate? I would be interested in the free VSTi and VST fx you have found that are good, discussing workflows in different DAWs, etc.

I am not sure how much I can contribute as I've worked only in FL, but yeah, why not, I'll help if I know an answer to a specific question.
Also apologizing to OP for a bit of offtopic we've made here.

When "my little pony" ends, we have enough fan content to keep us busy for ages. Movies, fan animations, fan fictions, art, even conventions ;)

Really? A cartoon about horses has fan conventions based on it?

Is he kidding me or is this for real?

Also: watching and episode of "my little pony: friendship is magic" is a good start. It's so good, most of the fan base is male.

I totally forgot my collection of Redwall books until I recognized your name, lol. I think I stopped when Eulalia came out and moved onto the Warriors series afterwards... though it wasn't as long or intense. So much nostalgia now!

My name is Ktee and I am addicted to office supplies, the shame! But seriously, it's really out of hand. I only have one more year of college left and there's no way I can use everything I have in that time. But at least this collection can be of use.

...UNLIKE my totally pointless collection of Lalaloopsy dolls that I absolutely cannot justify for any reason. One day I saw one and the button eyes reminded me of Coraline so I bought a miniature one to set on my desk. The next thing I knew I was repainting/customizing them and owned more than most little girls will probably ever see. I plan to give them to my niece though, if that helps at all. >.>

Ouch I felt the heat of the matter.....I also have more pens than I can possibly use in my life time....tourist says he will help me with my collections....otherwise known as clutter, not quite to the hoarders level and don't need the show to come and film as there is still plenty of walking space and nothing is up to the ceiling......yet.....lol
