Psalam 89:26-37, "He will call out to Me; You are my Father, O Yahweh! You are the Rock of my salvation! And I will make Him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him. And I will establish his Seed forever, and his throne will be as the days of heaven. Should his children forsake My Law, and refuse to walk in My judgments; Should they profane My statutes, and fail to keep My commandments; Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes from the whip. Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly withdraw from him, nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. My covenant I will not break, nor will I change what has gone out of My lips. Once for all, I have vowed by My holiness--I cannot lie, and I say to David: His Seed will endure forever, and his throne will endure before Me like the sun. His throne will be established forever like the moon: the faithful witness in the sky."

This statement is not true:

"He is equally God in number, amount, degree, rank, and quality possessing all of the same characteristics and attributes as the Father and to the same degree"

The Father gives Yahshua His power and knows things Yahshua does not know.....

"And Yahshua came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
"

Yes, but this was part of the emptying of equality. This is something that only relates his time in the flesh.

Yahshua is at the right hand of the Father, still waiting to do His Fathers will.

Daniel 7:13-14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. "

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Yes, this relates to the function of each member of the Unity not to a lack of knowledge on the part of any.

I did not change the definition. You just do not understand what I am talking about. ἴσα in Phi. 2:6 simply relates to intrinsic nature of his being. He is equally God in number, amount, degree, rank, and quality possessing all of the same characteristics and attributes as the Father and to the same degree. The only thing that differs is their respective functions within the Triadic Unity. Look at the grammar of the text. Empty is the verb that defines the action. Equal is an adjective that defines his nature. Equality is a noun that tells what was emptied out. This is not a passive action. This is self-actuating. No one is doing this to him. He is the one who does the emptying. What he empties out of himself is both equality with God and divine nature. He must possess these qualities intrinsically in order to empty them out of himself.

maybe I don't .... this is your quote...
Equal represents compatibility of Nature. This does not mean that each member of the Triadic Unity has the same function.
if they don't have the same function they are not equal...equal represents equality unless you make it represent something else...which is what you did...

The only thing that differs is their respective functions within the Triadic Unity
that is like saying a man whose function is driving a car one whose function is driving a bus and one whose function is driving a train are all equal because they are men... the only thing that differ is their function....when things are equal you can remove one and substitute it with the other....else they are not equal....

Yes, this relates to the function of each member of the Unity no to lack of knowledge on the part of any.

SO then they could not possibly be equal if that were true, because they would thus all have different functions?

(I want to add I enjoy your posts, just Scripture conversation)

Difference in function does not suggest inequality of being or nature.

you are using two different time lines to support your statement.....one before the resurrection and one after....you placed the one after the resurrection first when it should be the other way around....else he would be lying and does not have all power...

Well, when you see each member of the triadic unity represented in scripture you always see them functioning within a specific dynamic that appears to be exclusively theirs.

I don't see what you see...can you see this???of whom are All things and by whom are all things....all things between God and our Lord...where is the triad...??? I just love how Paul pops in vs 7.....
[h=1]1 Corinthians 8:5-7King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]5 [/SUP]For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

.and you cannot see what I see ...I see one God one Lord responsible for ALL things.......and vs 7 says not every man have that knowledge...you are explaining something that does not exist...far less being equal...

If this is what you believe then we will have to begin to discuss this at a much more basic level beginning with how doen scripture represent the idea of God.

are you going to refute the scripture presented...are you going to explain to me how Paul is wrong in his representation...can you get more basic than ...1Cor 8:6.....are you saying you don't believe this scripture? How can you explain vs 6 to me when it is evident you fall into the category of vs 7.....

Everything Paul said is absolutely true. I think what you are having trouble is the idea of three being one.
