Once it is conceived, no matter if it is 1 day or 3 months, as it is still a growing life inside that woman.
So once again you are given an excuse to murder, for the mistakes of another. Rather she did not take precaution, was raped, or so on. It was not the babies fault, but yet it still gets punished for the wrong another did.
Which is a sad situation that people put their own needs and wants in front of anothers, and when it may have been their mistake for not taking precaution the baby still pays for it.
Birth control should always be used if you don't wish to conceive, far better than having an abortion. I hope the Catholic Church which opposes birth control for some crazy reason is dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century where this issue and others are concerned!
The birth control pill lowers the chance of conception by hormonally encouraging the body to priduce a uteral mucus lining that is much thicker than normal. If, however, an egg is fertilized and a woman is on the birth control pill, the chance of a miscarriage are actually greatly decreased as the egg is more likely to implant in the thick mucus lining than in the average mucus lining.
Basically, the birth control pill is not a form of abortion. It prevents fertilization, but if an egg is fertilized, it increases the chance of implantation.
I became a Christian at 15. At 20 I had premarital sex and became pregnant. My son is about to be 13. Am I less of a Christian because of fornication or am I human in need of forgiveness like everyone else? God forgives all who ask.
Nothing wrong with premarital sex and no doubt you love your son and glad you had him, so you have no need of forgiveness especially from any deity, imo.
From a Christian perspective everyone needs forgiveness. After all this is a Christian site. Questions will be answered from a biblical standpoint. Not a wordly one.
I'm not Christian, but I'd be inclined to ask you for context for this statement. I understand that, aside from religious conviction, there's really not an intrinsic immorality to having safe, consensual sex as a single unmarried person, but when it's unsafe, irresponsible and (pertinent to this thread) results in unwanted pregnancy leading to abortion or single parenthood and all the things therein, there is a moral question to be asked.
I remember reading somewhere that the birth of a child covers the sexual sin that led to its conception. Is there a bible verse to that effect?
If there is I do not recall. My understanding is the sex was the sin. The baby is not. I did not give birth to a sin. God has forgiven me but that doesn't mean our life is easy. I do however thank God for my boy daily, and pray I do not choke the life out of him as he will be 13 in 2 months :/
I don't require forgiveness from any deity let alone the one depicted in the Bible. It should be asking our forgiveness if the deeds attributed to it are true.
It is quite clear you're not a believer and that is entirely your choice, but you're on a site where the bible and God is the
main point to this sites existence. Whatever your animosity is toward God or religion in general is your issue. If you want to discuss spiritual things that is great but to come here and disrupt threads where someone may be battling something serious is disrespectful and uncalled for. The OP asked a question where they wanted a biblical answer. If they wanted a wordly answer then they'd ask for one. You popping in and giving your own anti deity opinion on the issue is not what the thread is about. So could you be respectful of others here? abortion is a serious thing and it is a huge moral issue for many. Fornication is a moral issue for many as well. How you live your life is not the same as others may live theirs. Especially when it comes to God.
Yep. That's right. Including other sins. Being a Christian doesn't make you immune from sin. I means you recognize you are a sinner.A lot of Christians of the born again dogma spend a lot of time fornicating as I know for a fact!
That was an honest post and bless you for it. But your understanding of the Biblical Deity is incomplete. Let me try to paint a different picture for you.
Suppose one day I was to build a resort for the homeless. Anyone was welcome, with only one requirement. All they had to do was on their way in the door, stop and say thanks. That's it. Just stop and tell me, hey, I appreciate what you've done here. And you're in.
So, when someone steps up and tells me to eff off, am I really to blame for telling them they can go sit on the curb outside?
And am I out of line for squashing those who are telling others in line, to tell me to eff off?
That's really what it all boils down to. And I don't think God's out of line one bit.
