Anybody: Could you share some advice/ways that you adjust to each new year? What's the approach for 2015?

Have you thought "a year" is not exactly a new year?

If you forget about the time, just thinking you would be eternal, leaving behind you the chronos, to think another way there´s nothing to be adjusted your own ways, will you feel better?

Mark 12:25 When God raises people to life, they won't marry. They will be like the angels in heaven.

Start every day with a prayer of thanksgiving and read Scripture. Set short term goals, long term goals and always keep your eyes and heart focused on the Lord. But be humble and remember that tomorrow is not promised to anyone:[h=3]The Parable of the Rich Fool[/h][SUP] [/SUP]Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
[SUP] [/SUP]Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” [SUP] [/SUP]Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
[SUP] [/SUP]And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. [SUP] [/SUP]He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
[SUP] [/SUP]“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. [SUP] [/SUP]And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
[SUP] [/SUP]“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
[SUP] [/SUP]“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Luke 12

Have a very blessed New Year!

Utah: That one parable would save a LOT of grief if everyone took it to heart. Every "That's not fair!" issue would evaporate.

I'm reminded of a guy that used to work with my uncle. This guy was always tracking the bonuses, raises and promotions everyone around him got, always concerned about whether he was getting a fair deal relative to everyone else who worked there. So... sometimes they would make a point of talking about whatever bonus they got (or sometimes didn't really get, but they talked it up anyway ) in front of him, just to tear him up.

Ouch! :D

That guy was consumed with materialism and maybe even status. That's a hard way to live, in fact, that's not really living.

And you're right about the parable, its definitely underrated. Jesus said He leaves us with His peace, and the above parable is indeed a great tool to help us achieve some of His peace.

Be blessed, Lynx! (Great username and avatar!)

That is awesome! Just to clarify, secular: I'm not looking for ways to feel better or even different; Paul has me down when he writes I may be better off in God's army remaining a single soldier.

I'm just wondering if there are routines or practices we can get into to help the renewal flourish. 2015 is an obvious continuation of the reign of our Lord, but with new calendars come new responsibilities. We are heading toward Ash Wednesday here in a few short weeks. Do you prepare yourself for the observation of Lent?

You're right, Utah. Such basic advice, but I've forgotten it. Waking up each day just centered in Him. Amen.

Hey singles!!

Care to share a favorite/dear-to-the-heart Bible verse with me?

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures." That's one (Psalm 23:2A) that's just always had me.

It does kind of take over your life.

Whomever I happen to be listening to at the time. My collection is large, but curated - All that is in there, I like. The complete list would be more than 300 singers and groups. How much time do you have to read it?

So I do love Anointed and the Gaithers, but the rest I will have to explore. And actually! I am so thrilled, Chris Rice sings this song that I have been racking my mind over, couldn't remember any lyrics and thanks to you I found it, dude. You're awesome.

I'm "old." Haha I'm 27. I'm forever single.

HEY: This is not an ad, cuz I am never looking.

But I'm growing a little in and toward God and I need a brother or sister to talk to about life. If it hits, let me know.
It's hitting like a boss..

(don't worry, its from a movie)
