With that said, and no intention of argue or debate, but for the intention of reading what is written for us from our Savior, that assessment ignores the majority of what is written there, not trying to be rude , but is that not true?

i'm not trying to be argumentative, either...and i think i see you're struggling...

but please will you explain further what you mean?
are you saying what i said is ignoring the "give to every man according to his work"
and obey the Law part?

if that's the case, perhaps you don't understand imputation?
(not being condescending, just wondering?)

Young's Literal Translation Eph 2:15 "the enmity in his flesh, the law of the commands in ordinances having done away, that the two he might create in himself into one new man, making peace,"

It was the OT law (law of the commands in ordinances) that Christ done away with, Heb 10:9 "
He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second" Col 2:14 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

The context of Eph 2:11-18 the OT law of Moses put a wall between Jews and Gentiles. And the Gentiles having NOT the law of Moses were
"were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." By Christ taking away the law of Moses (broke down that wall of partition) so "that he might reconcile both (Jew & Gentile) unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby." By taking away the OT law both Jew and Gentile can now be one in one body/church by the cross....which would not be possible under the OT law.

Im definitely not "struggling" im simply asking your assessment on the entire passage, because I want to understand what others believe about this passage.

i'd like to be the first to admit, i don't get the whole rewards thing.
i know it's Biblical...i just can't imagine myself obeying God for anything but love.

but in this passage, what i see is imputation. that of the Second (Last) Adam.
because that's Scriptural and True, when God looks at us He sees the deeds of His Son.

what work have i ever performed that's deserving of eternal life?
none. :)
what Work has been given me that's deserving of eternal life?
Christ's. ♥

... I honestly equate myself with a "sea urchin" I think they are the lowest? ..... felt like one for a long time. that will never stop me Yahweh willing, from seeking to be what He wants.

So im just trying to understand the effect thereof, If the Laws are "rendered inoperative" to the body of Messiah is it counted as a sin if a follower does happen to sin?

What does Scripture say about sin and those in Christ?

18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. (from 2 Cor. 5)

See, under the Law, your sins have to be counted against you. Under Grace, Jesus has taken all of the punishment for your sins - they will never be credited to your account again. I like the way Bob George puts it:

Has God dealt with the sins of the world?

Yes.

How many times did He deal with it?

Once.

Have your sins been judged?

Yes.

Where were they judged?

At the Cross.

What was the verdict?

Guilty.

What was the punishment?

Death.

Who took it?

Jesus.

How much of it?

All of it.

How much is left for you?

None.

Oh, Hizikyah, you are so much more in the eyes of God - a son, not a slave (or holding any other lowly position)!

The following, short teaching by Andrew Farley delves into this concept. He calls it the 'Dirty Worm Syndrome':

Law Keepers have a rudimentary understanding of the word of God. They try to live for God by keeping the old way and it simply will not do.

Galatians 5

2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Then again

James 2

9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Matthew 5
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matthew 5

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Hizikahya

Let's assume 'opposition to the law was abolished'. ok.

Whose opposition is abolished.?
God never opposed His Law, so that would be a moot point.
Unbelievers continue to oppose the law, so it's opposition on that front has not been abolishhed.
Believers seem split, some opposing some supporting it.

So I ask...
Whose opposition to the law was abolished.?
