It's ironic to me that Islam, the world religion seemingly most notorious for standing in opposition to religious freedom, is much more welcomed and accepted in secular and post-Christian culture (aka the United States and many European countries) than is Christianity or even Judaism, world religions much more friendly to and even supportive of religious liberty.
This is on my mind after hearing today that Duke University, a private, secular university that removed a Chik-fil-a restaurant from its grounds after its owner voiced public support for biblical/traditional marriage, is now going to regularly sound a Muslim call to prayer across its campus every Friday.
This isn't meant to be a doom-and-gloom post, but rather a statement of the irony of the situation and my own lack of surprise at the double-standards that Christianity faces.
