@JayBird:

"...i also think spirit is what gives us our emotions, love, compassion, etc. this is what separates us from other animals of the natural world."

I also agreed on that, sir. I myself stopped believing the way the RRC taught me to believe in GOD. I also see a "dualism" in God and Jesus: GOD, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus as the perfect "hardware" God needed earthly to teach us His truth...

But I don´t want to show I´m not any longer "Trinitarian" or "Triunalist". It will cause an open "animosity", since the RCC´s traditions leaked even in a "written" form.

Time will tell me how wrong I am.

Some may be tired of me mentioning that Biblical game....but I thank you for your patience.

That game does look a bit like a spiritual ark made of fire, water/sound, and earth (our earthen vessels)..just saying

A couple of points and maybe a question or two....

1. What scripture leads to this conclusion
2. All 8 people left alive had survived based upon God's promise to preserve them.
3. God set his bow and promised that he would never again destroy the world by flood
4. Noah and his sons would have taught their children the promises of God

So, how did you come to this conclusion?

The story states clearly their purpose was to reach and or storm heaven...not to survive another flood....so...unsure why you came to that conclusion....?

Not being mouthy, just asking why the context of the account is not sufficient to come to the conclusion that they wanted to reach heaven.....

Even though Enoch and Jasher did not make the cannonization of scripture they do give an account of the why's and what happened following which jives with the Genesis account.....

2. True
3. True
4. True. But as we know, many of their descendants (especially Ham's) turned from the one true God and no longer believed His promises to them.

As for the first point, there's not much within the Bible to come to that conclusion (save for the bitumen), but it's a well-established fact that ANE (Ancient Near East) cultures, especially those of the Sumerians and Babylonians, feared another Great Flood and took measures to prevent another one, sometimes even building great towers to escape the waters (and aided by giant people). Historical documents speak of this (at least them fearing another huge flood), as well as the many myths and legends of those surrounding lands. Seen through the lens of God's Word, history seems to speak of such things being very much in the minds of ancient people in the early post-Flood period (and beyond). As for the people wanting to make a name for themselves, wanting to be like God and wanting to stay in one place and not spread to the 'four corners' of the world, these points aren't negated.

This thread really got me thinking...
God can preserve the earth through a different kind of flood.

I guess the flood nowadays will be the removal of the Holy Spirit and the Church, if it is difficult it will be worse without God's help to salvation.

Didn't the Bible somewhere states that the earth is going to be destroyed by fire the second time? I think I remember something like that but will have to make sure...

i agree, its the same thing to me. there is a natural order to things, this is how our Lord designed our world. trying to create life out side of this natural way is very arrogant.

I think such as Craig Venter are a disgrace to science. To believe he knows enough to create designer organisms using processes that are not his to interfere with, and have the arrogance to believe he can control his Frankenstein creations. He did not create the Lego of life, but considers himself in being able to mess with a few bricks, the equal of the creator.

Imagine his attempts at biofuel algae getting out of control and the entire sea becoming out of control cancerous sludge

Jurassic park had something prescient to say " they were so obsessed with whether they could, they did not stop to think whether they should"

I do believe that an earth chunk of iron with clay would have to be refined in order to make a rod of iron out of that same earth chunk. Our bodies are made out of earth, and right now I am leaning towards a flood of fire.

Well, rampant sinfulness deserving cataclysmic capital punishment from above, if that counts... though I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to say that...

Ok, God reminded me of a dream I had...I am now leaning towards a flood of wind (The Holy Spirit), water (The Word of God), and fire (The Father) through a landslide of earth.

Now I think I understand that dream I had when in solitude in the woods drinking only creek water for 40 days and nights. I wrote a journal throughout the fast.
