I know this sounds kinda silly but I have a feeling I have a very high possibility of gaining way too much weight this semester. It's my senior year and it is totally weird. Forunatley I'm only actually on campus 2-3 days a week, but I can't eat terribly for half the week and expect to be ok the rest of it.

Does anyone have any ideas? I know the ususal: half portions, drink lots of water. But any ideas for snacks, ideas on how to stay active through the day, ect?? If you are gonna say snack on peanuts/almonds/anything like that I'm sorta allergic. :/

I, too am a student and understand the stresses of school and working hard to get all the assignments turned in and to study for all the exams. I also struggle with my weight, although I have lost some weight and pushing to lose more. I am trusting God so I can be successful. When I am studying at my desk I always go for finger food, like chips and other foods that aren't really good for you. Maybe instead of buying stuff like that you may want to snack on fruits and veggies while you are studying because if you do over indulge yourself on it, it wouldn't be as harmful as junk food.

How about string cheese? I love that and it helps with keeping full.

Other healthy snacks
Dark Chocolate
Granola Bars
Trail Mix
Wheat Crackers
Fruits
Vegetables
Baby Carrots are a good veggie

Or if you really want to eat junk food, just count calories. That way you count everything you eat (I weigh mine on a food scale) and you can take charge of how many calories you put inside your body. Just make sure to eat healthy food too, don't indulge in all junk.

This has helped me lose weight. You can get a food scale at Wal-Mart for like $10. It is tedious to weigh everything, but I like the sense of control it gives me.

Eat healthy (no burgers for lunch!) Cook your own food if you can.
- Plenty of veggies, lean meat, fish

Be active (don't have to run a marathon, but walking or jogging is nice)

Stick to small(ish), frequent portions. Go as organic as you can and avoid heavily processed food. Taper your meals down the closer you get to bed time. Cut back - or cut out altogether - red meat. Approximately 80% of each meal should be raw (fruits, vegetables, nuts, whatever) while the remainder should be a small serving of cooked meat or something that is high in protein; large amounts of protein help to build muscle, and muscle helps to burn fat.

Good luck, Steph!

my first piece of advice is, walk as much as you can. The human body was designed to move, if you have to study for hours at a time then get up at least every hour and go for a short walk. Every time you want to get something out of the fridge, 20 pushups, want to use the bathroom, thats 20 more pushups. Before you go to leave the house, do 50 lunges on each leg.
A short workout that you can do is 8 count body builders for as long as you can do them.(last time I did them I could barley last 5 minutes)

Something to help you eat healthier is, every time you eat something unhealthy write it down. At the end of the day add up all the unhealthy things you ate throughout the day and multiply it by 50. Thats how many pushups you have to do, after you do that pretty soon you will pick up some unhealthy food and realize that if you eat it, that will be another 50 pushups and you might not want to eat it anymore.

I would suggest running at least twice a week, do a slow run to build endurance and an interval run(sprints with slow running in between) to help increase your metabolism.

Get a gym membership or at least buy a set of adjustable weights, even a little bit of weightlifting has many health benefits and it will help balance out you muscles that have become unbalanced due to our modern life.

Follow the Daniel Fast. Ask for strength. I do a 5x5 workout routine. It is very simple. The hard part is the fast. I lost a lot of weight the last few weeks. 15 lbs.

Possibly join an mma or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym? Strictly eat fruits/veggies/lean meats like chicken, turkey, and fish (also, Tofu. Not a meat but acts like one). Stay away from breads. get your carbs from brown rice and sweet potatoes.

Feelin ya on the allergy problems mixing with eating well. There are ways around it
