Jason, i imagine you so stressed out and frightened...

i feel for ya, bro. :(
I imagine him at a computer surrounded by a million man written books,...while his Bible is over in the corner collecting dust.

Ho-humming it, while an entire forum tries lovingly to help him see the error of his ways.
How long we he continue to debate some well respected people here?
We all try, ...we tried lovingly.....he seems to just whistle and keeps on posting Ellie.

He is convinced that a million CC people are wrong....and only he is right....never coming to the realization that most of us just aren't picking up what he's dropping.

I feel for you Jason, I really do brother.

This is the attitude of the OSAS belief. No repentance is truly required. QUOTE]

And this is a lie as NO one I know who teaches eternal security teaches this or believes this......So...quit spreading LIES and falsehoods which is the very sin which you need to repent of or loose your salvation (according to your dogma)!

this post is not having a go at you. but adding to that fact that god opens our eyes and opens scripture to different levels of understanding, and in different times to your/my walk with him. etc

there is a difference between religions teaching to repent. yet ,have no clue to the truth, because the historian scholar, proved times and dates. and the bigger picture is proven by the prophets and historian.
43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."act s10
time never stood still.( without gods forgiveness ,leads to many different understanding)to keep it short

for example
john( b) repent for the kigdom of god as at hand. (take animal to temple for forgiveness) already a a split in jewish teachings.

no gentiles at pentecost .
acts 10 corneilius knows god,
( vision to send for peter. )
peter vision to what is clean. (food)
peter is speaking the holy spirit given to cornelius

the list go s on.

for example when did moses give the law
to romans , uk , usa, china, india . and the rest of the world.

test everthing, and when god opens your eyes you will see. grace a gift, even if you repented or not. ie how many animals would a modern day christian have to take to a (temple of stone) for forgiveness.

and the meaning, to what the new covenant is, etc

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.Matthew 6

so what has god added to you.

Dear Psycho Mom:

I am not stressed out or frightened. I have an assurance of my salvation. Not by my own power, but by God's grace and the finished work He did upon the cross for me. I am saved by His grace right now by trusting in it. But if I sin, then I place in danger my relationship with God and have to confess and forsake that sin. Sure, God is not going to immediately withdraw His Spirit, the second I sin. But if I refuse to repent under God's conviction, how is that good for me? For you have to realize that the Scriptures do not teach that believers abide in unrepentant sin as if it was a way of life. Such a concept is foreign to the true believer within God's Word. For Paul says, 'and such WERE some of you." Meaning, we were once in the past as sinners. We still do not remain as sinners. That doesn't mean we may not mess up on occasion. But sinners do not sin habitually as a way of life and they are sorrowful over their sin if they do sin. Confessing one's sin is not a chore or a burden. It's what John tells us to do in 1 John 1:9. The man of God (or the woman of God) is more than happy to repent of their sins if they are walking with the Lord. But if one day, a believer chooses to live a life of sin habitually and they do not feel sorry about their sin, then how on Earth are they saved? Is there a verse that say you can abide in unrepentant sin and still be saved. You would be hard pressed to find such a verse in the Bible. I guarantee you that.

I would say this to the last part of that: then this person is not now a believer.
And you would be right. For no true believer abides in unrepentant sins such as murder, hate, lust, drunkenness, and does not have a desire to confess or to forsake such sins. I am not talking about sinless perfectionism in a person's entire life. All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. Even David sinned. But the difference is that the true believer does not live a life of habitual sin and the true believer feels a Godly sorrow over their sin by talking to God about it in some way. Believers do not stay or remain as habitual sinners like they did when they were unbelievers.

Straw man! You keep on saying that there is some kind of strange Christian who can be saved without repenting, but none of us have ever met one.

Please read what we have written. You are putting yourself above God, by thinking salvation is dependent upon your goodness.

Even that one example you had pages back, had an unsaved Christian Scientist somehow doing something evil, as proof that all people who follow Christ are going to hell, if they don't adhere to your twisted man-made doctrine.

Jesus died for me. Jesus saved me. Jesus walks with me. Jesus sanctifies me. Jesus will one day glorify me.

And because of that, I CHOOSE to follow him and obey him. It is not possible to follow Jesus in your own strength.

And we are NOT in danger of loosing our salvation at any moment, we think, do or say the wrong thing. That is a doctrine of fear and evil, and it comes from the pit of hell.

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— [SUP]8 [/SUP]but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. " Romans 5:6-9

acts 15. how can you repent from a law that was never given to you,

how can you follow the full law given to moses without a temple(of stone)

28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,30 since God is one---who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.Romans 3

justified , one by faith(jewish)

one through faith (gentiles)

two ways to get justified .

Here is a great article on those who think they need to get "resaved" every time they sin.

"Ultimately, the world is divided into two categories: many are “standing” in rebellion against the lordship of Jesus, standing in hopes of their own righteousness to merit favor with God; others are “seated” in submission, resting on His finished work. So when it comes to assurance, the only real question is: Where is the weight of your soul resting? Are you still standing in rebellion, or have you sat down in the finished work of Christ?"

Dear Angela:

In reference to your recent post:

Well, that is pure evil. David repented of his sins of adultery and murder. David asked to the Lord not to take the Holy Spirit from him. It's not that you lose God the second you sin. No, no. But it is about rebelling (and refusing to repent) when God is convicting you of sin by His Spirit. Nowhere is there a verse in the Bible that teaches believers can abide in unrepentant sin with the thinking they are saved. You will never find such a dark and evil teaching. Paul said, "Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?" He answered, "God forbid!" "For how are we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?"

They have already surfaced in the Repentance thread; And that is not the first time I have met folks who have believed that way, either.

No, salvation is thru repentance and acceptance of Christ. It is then trusting in His grace and mercy for salvation. Works are just the natural outpouring in a believer's life because God lives within them. Works do not save in and of themselves. Works are the by product of salvation.

Even that one example you had pages back, had an unsaved Christian Scientist somehow doing something evil, as proof that all people who follow Christ are going to hell, if they don't adhere to your twisted man-made doctrine.
Christian Science is a cult.

Mary Baker Eddy's book makes the claim that she does not believe in the Trinity, the Incarnation, resurrection, Sola Scriptura, and Biblical Infallibility. Mary Baker Eddy said the Bible is full of thousands of errors and that her book is the final revelation of God.

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6-9 is in context to how He paid the price for our sins, and how we are justified by his blood when we repent and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. This passage does not talk about the continued walk and if you might sin again. In fact, read the next chapter. Paul says, shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? Paul replies, God forbid. For how shall we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?

Also, it is important to point out that Paul is in agreement with Jesus' teachings (1 Timothy 6:3-4). This is important because Jesus made it abundantly clear during His ministry that there is no excuse for sin. That if you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven. This is a condition. Not Eternal Security.

Very good, but what you are missing is the sin nature. I find in my members a law that wars with my mind. That which I will to do I do not.And that which I will not to do that I do. Who shall deliver me from this body of sin? I thank the the Lord Jesus Christ.

What we do not realize, is this. We are in these flesh bodies and this flesh body wants to be our own God. So we devise ways to say we are righteous by what we do or how we act or sticking our head in water. God will not accept our works. He will only accept faith in His work and that is the cross. If we place our faith in anything that we do we will fail and the sin nature will return. It is ofetn called the power of sin in the NT. The cross sets us free from the power of sin. But if are faith is shifted from the work of the cross the power of sin returns.

Brother Jason, I respect you and know the power of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ rules and reigns in you. I'll be honest, every time I see your joyful face in your photo on this forum, my heart is moved toward you as my brother. I know you love Jesus Christ with all your heart and soul and strength and I'm glad we're family in Him.

It makes me extremely sad to think you believe you can do something that will cause our Father to be angry enough to forsake you. I know He would not! I know God would chastise us His children and cause us to turn away from whatever it is that hinders our relationship with Him. I know you know that in your heart! We have a merciful, faithful Father who would leave the 99 and go after the one lost sheep when He has to. Nothing will separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Nothing, Jason.

It also makes me grieve when it seems like someone is getting attacked. I had a long post I was working on today and was going to post it in response but the Holy Spirit checked my heart and showed me my motive and my attitude, too. So I deleted it. I honestly thought it seemed appropriate & helpful but the Lord assured me He is in control. So I am sorry if my previous posts were anything but gracious.

I don't want to argue with you. I know we all have different opinions about various things regarding religion and I can accept that. But I don't have peace with you thinking that you can turn God against you. I hope the Lord shows you how precious you are to Him. And to this family of God.

Anyway brother Jason, I love you with the love of the Lord Jesus and pray for all of us to be in one accord that our Lord would be blessed. Goodnight, brother. ♥

In Romans 7, Paul is talking from his perspective of being a Jew (Before he became a Christian) to his Messianic Jewish Christian brothers who know the Law. Romans 7:1 says, I speak to those who know the Law. He is talking about how they once obeyed the Law. Verse 14 says that the law is spiritual and that he is sold under sin. However, Romans 8:2 says he is free from the Law of sin and death. Both of these verses would be in contradiction to each other if he was speaking from the perspective as a Christian in both passages.

Thank you for your kind words and for listening to God in being kind. That means a lot to me and more importantly to God. If it is any comfort to you, I believe those who have a deep rooted relationship with Christ are God's Elect, His chosen, His sheep (That have been chosen since the foundation of the world and are incapable of falling away). So yes, the Bible does teach Eternal Security. But it is only for God's chosen. Those He knows who truly love Him. While I have not done a deep study on this truth within Scripture yet, I base this belief off of the Parable of the Sower. For the one who had root in God's Word was the one who brought forth much fruit. Those who fell away due to persecution or the cares of this life I believe are those who had no root or deep love for God and His Word. They had a short saving faith. But it was only a temporary and spurious faith. They had a connection with God, but it was weak. It was surface friendship that did not hold true. It was not a deep and true loving walk with the Lord that was with all their heart. They either proved in the moment and or later in time that they loved the world, themself, and or sin on some level over God. I say this because God loves us so much. He wants nobody to perish and desires everyone to repent. I say this because God's promises are good and He is not a respecter of persons. You may not agree with this, but I believe this to be true. I believe we all have free will. But I also know that those who know they are saved know they are His by the Spirit. For they seek, like what you just did to love all others (Even when we disagree).

Anyways, may God bless your heart.
And may His love shine all the more upon you and your family.

With loving kindness to you in Christ,

Sincerely,

~Jason.

In the NT, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us when we are saved. We are new creatures in Christ.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Nowhere does Scripture state that God behaves differently in the Old Testament versus the New Testament. He is still the same God. The Covenants do not rule God's behavior. God merely made the different covenants to have them point to each other. Primarily the Old points to the New. But both Covenants point to Jesus Christ. Also, Just because something is not mentioned in the Scriptures does not mean it is not true. We fill in the gaps based on what the rest of Scripture says; And we know from the Old Testament that God can leave people because of sin. Why do you think it is different now? Yes, I am aware of the seal verse. But I believe that passage is being taken out of context by OSAS proponents. Besides, seals are not a padlock in Scripture. Thru out Scripture, seals have been broken several times.

...
Thank you very much for your kindness toward me, brother Jason! Praise God for His Spirit alive in you.

I followed your lead and just read through Matthew 13 regarding the parable of the sower. It's interesting that Jesus says that the seed sowed among the way side, stony ground & among thorns never took root. I would think if these were children of God the Word would have taken root, am I correct?

And afterwards while Jesus is interpreting the story of the sower to His disciples, he tells several more parables about sowing. In the wheat & the tares, Jesus explains that they are the saved and unsaved; those who will enter heaven and those who are cast away. In the parable of the mustard seed, Jesus said even if the tiniest seed like that takes root, it's grows to be the greatest among herbs. Lastly Jesus explains how leaven (like yeast) causes flour to rise and grow. I understand that to mean that once Jesus has entered us, we are going to increase by His Spirit.

One of the reasons I hold the belief of "eternal security" is that I know Jesus is the Shepherd and that nobody is the shepherd of themselves. Psalm 100:3 reads: Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Once the Holy Spirit takes residence in a person, that man/woman is God's holy vessel and the flesh has been crucified. That person now belongs to the Great Shepherd and is being conformed into the image of Jesus more and more. It is not we ourselves doing the work, but the Shepherd.

Jason, having read through these things this morning, it concerns me that perhaps there are many who call themselves Christians but have not genuinely been converted. Romans 10:14 reads: How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? There is so much watered down, off-based, new age preaching today that it's possible there are many who have not really heard the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Like what you said above, something on the surface but nothing really deep and lasting. "Itching ears" as the Bible calls it. Something that temporarily relieves guilt and condemnation, but nothing that takes root and drives out the carnality.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." [Proverbs 9:10] I confess, fear drove me to God. My corrupted mind and black heart liked to destroy the life in me! I ran to Jesus in fear for forgiveness and salvation. It has been a loooooong road since then, mostly because I was conditioned to extreme abuse and was afraid of my own emotions and doubting mind. I was one hot mess!

But the Lord broke through every one of the strongholds binding me. It is breathtakingly astonishing to me how Jesus makes me obey Him just like He does the wind and the sea. So it just makes me wonder how someone could be invaded by the Most Powerful Holy Spirit and then have the notion to evict Almighty God from their being at will. It doesn't seem possible. With a word, God created the heavens and the earth. How can mere man have power over the Holy Spirit in him?

Which brings me back to wondering how many who call themselves Christians really are saved. Isn't it rather odd that there are so many who attend church services but who don't have any desire to follow after Jesus Christ on a day to day basis? Either they haven't heard the Word preached in power and anointing of the Holy Spirit or as Jesus said, the Word never took root. That's cause for extreme concern, isn't it brother? We are in serious need of anointed pastors who will preach the Truth of Jesus Christ in Holy Ghost power. God be praised!

Again Jason, thank you for your understanding and the beautiful blessing you extend to me and my family. May the Lord also bless you and yours in grace and peace. :)

They have already surfaced in the Repentance thread; And that is not the first time I have met folks who have believed that way, either.
i would like to submit it may appear that way because your definition of repentance
differs from theirs (ours)?
