This is a completely inane line of reasoning.

Does not scripture teach that we who are saved will not be tempted above that which we are able to stand? Why would my God place me in that situation if I could not resist murdering innocent people?

Your mind tends to dwell in places it ought not to go. Get back on Christ lest you further defame yourself.

Not to mention that No murderer hath eternal life dwelling in him....a saved child of God would not mow down a group of people with a (submachine gun)....more "what-if-ville" and hypothetical rigamarole......!

On August 4th, 2009, 48 year old George Sodini shot 9 people in a Pittsburg Pennsylvania health club. At the time of the writing of such a report on August 6th, four people had died to include George by his own self-inflicted gunshot wound.

George Sodini, mass murderer and professed Christian Eternal Securist wrote; “Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.”

My friends, this is the true fruit of the doctrine of Eternal Security! Few Eternal Securists would be consistent and say that George was in the loving arms of the Savior as we speak, enjoying paradisiacal bliss! The ever-present cop-out of “He was never saved in the first place,” will be the majority mantra of those who cannot accept the inevitable outcome of their own false doctrine, which was so accurately quoted by George Sodini!

Im nobody, but if I may make an assessment...

It *seems* to me, I know nothing of this nature for certain, but *seems* you have the mind of a follower of Him, from much of what you say, or at least what I have seen you wrotie... IDK for sure, but my observation, again I am but a sea urchin.... so thus a person that follows Him and not their own understanding would be a part of His herd.... I think a lot of people that use those same principles use them in a matter of, "NOTHING can separate me from the love of God" so I can do whatever I wish.... that is not "following" that is self leading.... (*DISCLAIMER* I make no assessment on anyone's eternal future, and do not even try to, however I do feel I am supposed to know right from wrong...JMO)
Not real for sure what your point is, but you know I don't believe that I can live anyway I want or do anything I want and that a saved child of God will strive to please the master....at the end of the day though...NOTHING means exactly that NOTHING....so...bro what are you saying....that many use the word NOTHING so as to jive their contrary lifestyles?

So certain other sins are more acceptable then? Looking upon women in lust, swearing, hating, are lesser sins? Look back at the passage you just quoted. It says if we just hate our brother then we are like a murderer and that no murderer has eternal life abiding within them. Meaning, a believer cannot hate another believer. This is a condtion. If you start to hate, and you do not confess or repent of your hate, then how do you have eternal life? Can you honestly say have not hated another believer before? So how exactly is eternal security true again?

Your twist of scripture and living in (what-if-ville) does not alleviate the truth of eternal security......sin is sin and if sin causes one to loose salvation then all, including you are lost as NO ONE IS ABOVE SIN.....so...if you say you don't sin or haven't sinned than you are found under the liar category and lost.....the fallacy of making some sins worse than other sins is a farce and falls way short of the "smell" test!

This you will believe but not Gods word?

I cannot judge this mans eternal state and neither can you. He is answering to God for what he has done. If he was saved He must account to Christ for his actions. If he was only a pretender then he will be judged according to his deeds.

There remains a root of bitterness springing up in your heart. This is not good for you. Let God be God and trust that God will do as pleases Him.

I was saying I believe you are in His path by what you generally say, the rest was me talking about the world not making a "back handed slap" at you, not at all.

you explained exactly what I meant.

I will try to simplify my main point:

mercy is His hand reached out to pull us to Him

not

mercy is not His hand pointing us to the world

Do you think you are not a sinner?
Paul says, "and such WERE some of you." Meaning we used to be sinners, but we are not the way anymore. After coming to Christ, we do not practice sin as a way of life (See 1 John 3:6, 9).

Paul says, "Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?" Paul replies, "God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

Paul essentially said that if any man teaches contrary to the words of Jesus and the doctine of Godliness is proud and knows nothing (1 Timothy 6:3-4).

Peter says, "Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:"

Peter identifies the false prophets as having eyes full of adultery who cannot cease from sin (2 Peter 2:1, 14).

The author of Hebrews says, "Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord."

Americans are worrying about the Muslims when there are Christian radicals killing also.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

[h=1]“Religious controversies are always productive of more acrimony and irreconcilable hatreds than those which spring from any other cause. I had hoped that liberal and enlightened thought would have reconciled the Christians so that their religious fights would not endanger the peace of Society.” George Washington[/h]
OSLO — The Norwegian man charged Saturday with a pair of attacks in Oslo that killed at least 92 people left behind a detailed manifesto outlining his preparations and calling for a Christian war to defend Europe against the threat of Muslim domination, according to Norwegian and American officials familiar with the investigation.

As stunned Norwegians grappled with the deadliest attack in the country since World War II, a portrait began to emerge of the suspect, Anders Behring Breivik, 32. The police identified him as a right-wing fundamentalist Christian, while acquaintances described him as a gun-loving Norwegian obsessed with what he saw as the threats of multiculturalism and Muslim immigration.
“We are not sure whether he was alone or had help,” a police official, Roger Andresen, said at a televised news conference. “What we know is that he is right wing and a Christian fundamentalist.”

Right Wing Watch recently brought to our attention the Christian dominionist, Gary Cass’ call forHoly War against Muslims, in an article titled, “I’m Islamaphobic, Are You?” Cass is a former San Diego GOP official and founder of the organization “Defend Christians: A Ministry of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission.
Cass’ article was originally published on the website of the popular Evangelical Christian magazine, Charisma. The article was pulled down without any apology or note as to why it was published in the first place or why it was subsequently pulled; it is still proudly displayed on Cass’ website.
Many Christian writers and commenters were deeply offended by the bellicose religious hatred and call to violence in the article, deeming it “Anti-Christ.” A minority of Christians however supported the article as can be witnessed in the comment section to Cass’ article.

There have always been religious wars since the beginning of time and many religion radicals in all religions.

What are you even talking about? You said that a believer will not murder. John equates hate with murder. Have you hated before? You seem to think sin is a normal daily thing in a believer's life. It is not. Paul says, "and such WERE some of you.", Meaning, we used to be sinners, but we are not that way anymore. Believers do not live in habitual sin (1 John 3:6, 9).

Not sure if you are for or against OSAS with this point or not. But George Sodini is not an isolate case of the dark fruits of OSAS. As I said before, people have killed themselves thinking they were saved by an OSAS type belief. Many have felt enslaved by their sin beause of OSAS and have been set free by coming out of it. This is not about Works Salvationsism. That is unbiblical. This is about people thinking they have a license to sin (Jude 1:4 NIV).

So is that a no? Because if so, I am interested to see you declare it. A repentant heart is not a sinless one.

If you would take 3 seconds to look beyond your view then you would begin to see.....John said that if we say that we have NO SIN (present tense) then we are deceived....we have a body that is dead because of sin, is not subject unto the laws of God and neither in deed can be....it is the spirit that is born of God that DOES NOT SIN....Jason...you sin everyday in some form or fashion and to claim to be sinless or above sin is a faulty belief.....Your twist of John's writings belies a lack of understanding......what exactly does the word HATE mean in context.....as a sure sign of a disciple of Christ is LOVING the brethren.....a TRUE born again child of God will LOVE the brethren....no mystery here...!

It is not I that judges him but it is the Word of God that judges him. The Scriptures say no murderer has eternal life abiding within them.
Then it was not the Spirit of God that moved him. The diabolical one may have consumed him. Probably was bitter about something. Maybe eternal security of the believer?

What was in that mans heart is beyond my ability to know with certainty. Only God knows and only God can judge in this matter. You can assert that you know but you cannot know like God knows.

I can say that God is able to save the greatest of sinners as well as the least of sinners.

Bitterness in the heart is a terrible thing. Bitterness toward God is an awful burden.

Some and not all people here are essentially saying that you do not need to turn from your sin as a requirement for salvation. One person has already said that you are forgiven of your sins, past, present, and future. Which means you do not need to worry about sin or deal with it. Another has said that repentance is not turning away from sin but it is about turning away from making yourself your own God. But sinning and being your own God is the same thing. Folks here have not been promoting that we must repent or have a Godly sorrow and or forsake sin so as to be classified as a true believer. Folks believe you can be out of fellowship with God (i.e. no doubt because of sin) and still be saved. Yes, I realize there are OSAS Lite Proponents who believe that if you live a habitual life of sin, you are not saved. But most folks here are not holding to that belief. At least not from I can tell.

No, this man was professing the same unBiblical mantras that everyone else here has been professing.
