My dog had an organ taken out 2 days ago and is already back to normal energy.

They also made a comment before I left, "She's got quite a bit to grow, still!" I should have asked how much they meant. I thought she was fairly close to full size already. Guess I should prepare myself for a bigger dog. :)

So, I started a new job where I work 11 hour days, but they feed me free Chipotle and coffee. Why am I even complaining?

No no... it's true. Some brains aren't even conscious until around 10am.

I am normal. The world is insane.
Uh oh, Grace... I just accepted a position at work in which I'll have to get up at 2 AM every morning, along with an overnight shift. And yes, this is on purpose. I've always been an early morning person. It will also allow me to avoid some other riff raff and hopefully, get a lot done.

I'll almost be done with work by the time you're getting up. :) And I have a tendency to be up early on my days off as well...

I have a feeling... that if I ever do meet you in person, I'm gonna drive you crazy. (My apologies in advance.)

Just realized that the headache I developed is from not having coffee this morning. Just made a cup now. Hope it does the trick.

Morning people are fun to have around at night. They try to stay up to hang out with the group but they get really tired, and they get really silly and goofy. :D

The bad thing is that I also have a lot of problems sleeping, so I can be silly and goofy almost 24/7. :) My system seems to be on a 2 to 3 plan... as in, I only seem to get a real night's sleep every 2 to 3 days. And if I'm having fun or around people I really enjoy, I can pretty much force myself to stay up almost the entire time (I tend to annoy people with how much I'm up and running.)

I always tell people, "And to think, I'm like this WITHOUT drinking..."

However, if I'm a passenger in a moving car, forget it. I'm gone faster than you can say ZZZ... (I always said if I had money, I'd pay someone to drive me around for 8 hours a night just so I could sleep.)

Didn't you say you watched a documentary on how processed foods and drinks are killing us? :p

(I've had those caffeine deprivation headaches though, so I certainly hope you feel better soon.)

She's a Border Collie/St. Bernard mix. When I get to the St. Bernard part, people always go, "Whoa." But her build is more like a large Border Collie. She's leggy but her paws aren't that big. I didn't think so, at least. She's about 41 pounds right now and 7.5 months old. This picture doesn't show her true size since she's laying down.

Seriously. She is SO CUTE. She does look like she'll grow a bit bigger, I'd expect her to grow to be around 60-80 pounds. St. Bernards get BIG. Like, really big. 100+ pounds. The Border Collie will probably keep her from growing that big, I think, because let's see, how big do Border Collies get? I can't remember. But yeah, puppies will stop growing when they're around 1 or 1.5 (typically the latter for larger breeds).

Aaaagh make it stop. Just...no. Don't. Don't even think about clicking on that inflammatory thread, it's an inflammatory thread for a reason, it gets people all irritated and heated up.

Nooo, what did I just tell you? Stahp! -_-

I should probably take a break from CC. This is getting to be too much. I know, it sounds ridiculous. Getting frustrated over stuff that's going on on the internet. But here's the thing. I wouldn't be frustrated over it if I didn't care. I care about you guys, and this site. But this..,this is not working.

she is really adorable!

at 7.5 months, following a standard growth algorithm i would expect her to get a minimum of approximately 25% larger and a maximum of about 33% larger. so settling at adult weight of 51 - 55 lbs peaking around 15 months old.

however, that said, there are two things that can affect this. dogs spayed prior to reaching adult size can grow slightly larger, and sometimes spaying can affect appetite and metabolism, often leading to weight gain. dogs that are "free fed" are more prone to this in general.

oh, and my first dog, was half lab, and half st. bernard. he was so sweet and adorable. i miss him much. he was sized like a large lab, with the squarish head of a bernard. so loveable. : )

Woops! I read the numbers wrong. I thought Rachel said her dog was 75 pounds lol. Even then putting the sixty pounds there didn't make a ton of sense. Men, I'm having an off day, super tired!!!

I think gypsyg and lil are right - that dog's got a lot of growing left but .... man, he's got an enormous head. That's a big ole noggin. My niece had a big ole head like that. She was 15 before that thing settled in. I'm hoping your pup has an easier time of it with all the social pressure and all.

That's funny you say that, because I think her head is actually small. In real life, at least. I think the angle/lighting of that picture makes her head look bigger than it is. She probably does have a big head, though, with all the compliments she gets. :p

Why in the blazes is someone honking their horn?? It's not a car alarm because it's not consistent. It's just someone honking their horn. They need to stop. If they honk it one more time I'm finding a way to turn it off. This is not the day to annoy me.

I am normal. The world is insane.
generally i am fine as far as alert when i wake up, but i have diminished patience for incoming.

like, noise, smells, or interference sort of makes me crazy for the first hour. i spend the first hour i wake up (usually/ideally) in a low light, with mellow-ish music, slowly waking up. i need my big mug of tea and no questions.

occasionally, i will have a client call first thing in the a.m. and i find myself slipping into an observer role, quiet and pensive. and then finally i usually say, startled by my own voice (i'm not kidding):

how important is this? anything broken or on fire? can this be dealt with in a little while? like an hour? oh good. send me the snapshot/report/whatever and i'll call you back after i've taken a look, a good, long look.

in about an hour.

and then i climb back into bed with my tea. ; )
