Yes I do! I like positive feedback. :)

it may not always be positive, especially since you made a thread asking us how we perceive you online.. :/

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

Well, no. Sorry, but while you can support this statement with tons of Scripture from Paul, the gospels, or John, Peter, or Jude, this isn't one of them.
1 Corinthians 13, NASB
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

This passage essentially says the written testimony of Christ from His disciples and friends would replace the s&w gifts that, to that point, confirmed the message as being divine. If v. 11 was about love, and not Christian maturity, the passage wouldn't make sense in it context.

But we digress and are seriously

You have valid points regarding how we are to season our speech, be salt and light. I'll consider them as they relate to MM and other celebrities who 1) don't know me and never will, and 2) appear to be completely outside the sphere of potential redemption, though obviously God could change that in a heartbeat.

Haha....point taken. I personally think mr Moore is about as courageous as a bully is. He is really just an extremely insecure guy who has found his little false fellowship corner of the world to puff up his childish ego driven self hatred.

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

I think you need to reconsider. Did Jesus tip toe around people's feelings? I would argue that he did not....but was very tactful at times and very to the point and direct at times. There is no one size fits all way to deal with people and or circumstance. Jesus illustrated that very clearly in my estimation.

Once again though like I said before using what Jesus did as an example almost always is misused by the individuals. As Christ was not just belittling anybody and everybody who disagreed with Him, or did something He did not like. Every time Jesus was critical toward somebody it was because they corrupted, twisted, and added on to God's word. Causing stumbling blocks on others that they themselves would not follow.
If they were doing things that had nothing to do with God's will or words, did Jesus criticize them?
No instead He simply told them only by God did they have their authority, and He also prayed for them. He did not belittle, demean, call names, or criticize them....

As a sentient being I get to decide how I recieve any words from anyone.....don't I? Isn't that why I have a prefrontal cortext? To think rationally about what is true and what is not true about me....based on Gods word vs my emotional response to the world and people?

so are you saying that Jesus didn't joke around with his homeboys with things like "your ugly and your mom dresses you funny"? I beg to differ....I'll bet jesus was a fun person. My bible tells me that Jesus was as much man as he was God. Granted his sense of humor had behind it a perfect untarnished heart. Jesus never had his personal comfort in mind....like so many do under a false notion of humility.

what I am telling you is that you communicate about 20% with the words you use and 80% with body language and tone....yet you somehow have this divine ability to judge a persons motivations on an online forum.

Jesus was mainly harsh towards self righteous religious people who sneered down on others. Ironically.

Well the bible also said He is the only one who had no sin, and in order for that to be possible means He had to have extreme self control that no other man possess. We can learn through the Holy Spirit to have self control.
I am not judging anybody, as I am just stating what the word says and not adding or taking away from it as some do to water down the true message because they do not like what it says.
I have led multiple bible studies, and when I hold them I send people home at the end with scriptures to read. I do not give any of my opinion with it, just a scripture of passage to read. Many times the people have come back the next meeting and said to me, why did you do that to me, that was harsh. I would then answer them, that was not me who made you feel the sorrow that came about them. This was God's word convicting them on how they were living, and telling them to change what they were doing.....

Yes because they were corrupting, twisting, and adding on to God's word.
Showing they did not walk in love, but in the flesh of covetousness and deception. No love was in their way of doing things.

I'm frustated because I feel incompetant that I can't get thru to Kenneth. I'm guessing that he is about to tell me that it's the Holy Spirit convicting me....lol.

Look I understand what you are trying to say, but you can not take a blend joking around with somebody who is clearly belittling another. Their is a big difference between the two. Did Jesus joke around and play? He probably did, but the scriptures do not say that He did. Did He though speak harsh words at Pilate, Herod, or his soldiers, or anybody else that was part of the crowd that was belittling Him and yelling for His crucifixion? Or did He keep silent for the most part, except for the few words He said to Pilate and the prayer for them while on the cross?

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

Back to the OP. I find Moore's view hilarious, because he has clearly never read American Sniper. He doesn't he appear to understand the nature of a sniper's vital role on the battlefield.

Who needs facts when you can take a political pot shot though?

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

A movie about the war, has to have heroes and glory. So cut out all the horrible bits and splice it up.

We can't have a movie about the actual causes for the Iraq War....

That would just be filled with War Criminal Republican "Conservatives" committing crimes against humanity.

That wouldn't be a movie, that would just be public record and facts. Which might bum out quite a few right wingers on this forum.

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

Because Saddam Hussein was a saint and doing God's will right David_1?

You get kookier by the post. Here's David_1's hero having members of the Iraq assembly hauled right out of the assembly to be tortured and executed after a successful military coup (note: it's narrated by another one of his liberal heroes):

He'll just "blame Bush" and the CIA, of course, though Bush would have been a thirty-three year old who didn't hold any political office whatsoever at that point in his life and the Ba'ath party was "an ideology mixing Arab nationalist, pan-Arabism, Arab socialist and anti-imperialist interests. Ba'athism calls for unification of the Arab world into a single state. Its motto, "Unity, Liberty, Socialism", refers to Arab unity, and freedom from non-Arab control and interference."

How do you explain to a deceived liberal that every act of terror in world history is NOT the U.S.'s fault?

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

My friend, there is no need to lie about liberals when you just flat out admitted liberals' intentions. It is not the government's role to steal from one person and give to another. And the funny thing is, the liberals in charge don't give their money to those in need, they always seem to take other peoples' money. Like Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually socialists run out of other peoples' money." Besides, conservatives donate more money to charitable organizations than liberals.

Ah ha! Now we're getting somewhere!

Most people, including liberals, will say that it's wrong to steal money. So why is it that they're perfectly fine with taxation? In fact, when do you feel it's okay for taxation to happen? And most importantly, why do people feel differently about taxation and not theft?

If we assume liberals just want to steal from other people, we're going to miss out on opportunities to figure out new solutions. If we go around telling people liberals just want to steal from others, we can only get so far. But if we can figure out WHY they think taxation is acceptable, then we can try to work through their own logical processes and maybe find more convincing arguments to change their views. And even though most of them will be set in their ways, we can use the knowledge we obtain from stubborn liberals to help understand what we need to do to teach those who are on the fence.

For example:

Let's say you have someone who's undecided if they support 'liberal policies' or more 'conservative policies'. They're very passionate about helping others and they want people with the ability to help others to do more. Lead by emotion, it's easy to understand why they might begin to lead left economically if they don't understand economics or if they (like most people) don't view taxation as theft.

If you assume liberals have bad intentions and you tell this person, "liberals are lazy bums who just want to ruin this country", what do you think will happen? Chances are good, they'll talk to liberal minded people and realize liberals aren't these evil bums who want to watch the country burn. Instead, they're going to see caring people who want to help the needy. HOWEVER, if you acknowledge that liberals tend to have good intentions and you tell this person about basic economics, the philosophy of taxation, and why liberals are misguided, they'll be less easily persuaded by liberals. Obviously it's not a perfect plan, but the way we approach these situations does make a difference whether it feels like it or not.

There is no government role for either. They need to leave families and faith alone.

I agree 100%.

As Sirk said, Moore makes himself a target by being a public figure, and utterly stupid. You don't like my "political incorrectness" toward him, don't read my posts.

To be fair, you're speaking in an open forum and open to criticism just as much as Micheal Moore. I'll have to agree that some of your statements are a bit radical, though I understand why you might why you feel the way you do.

I have interjected many of times on blog's on here where people were putting down democrats and liberals, but then bragging about Bush or other republicans like the ones we have in congress now. I just simply told them do they realize those republicans in congress are playing childish games too. Neither side is wanting to budge, and continue to play blame games.

This is the problem with the "us vs. them" mentality so many people have. Too many people are so caught up in calling out liberals that they turn a blind eye to their own political party. It's a shame because if you really look at what liberals and conservatives are doing, you'll find that they both tend to lead this government in the same direction. Both parties may disagree on some things here and there, but ultimately both have no problem with government taking over the lives of the people.

Well since we are sitting here this morning I just got done watching a news report on who possibly would be running for presidency this next election, and they talked to a couple of the republican candidates on how they are pushing even right now in the states they live in to raise taxes on the middle class. I can not go and just post every time I have done this for you to see, on how some have defended republicans while bashing democrats and liberals as it would take up way to much room. Which is against the policies of this site. All I can do is tell you to keep watching as I will always speak up when this happens.......

As much as I dislike liberals, conservative presidential candidates are some of the most stupid people I have ever seen in my life. Even worse is how crooked the media is and how blind conservative voters are!

Did anyone watch the republican debates with Ron Paul? Every time a republican candidate was asked a question, they would beat around the bush and avoid answering the question directly. They would try to change the topic and talk about how great America is without telling us what they thought about certain topics. The ONLY candidate who didn't do this was Ron Paul. Why didn't people vote for Ron Paul? Because they didn't think Ron Paul had a chance of winning. But if the media said "Ron Paul is doing amazing at the debates", we would have had a massively different outcome. But no, the media ignored Ron Paul and acted like that idiot Romney somehow did well in the debates.

I doubt most of you watch south park, but they did a wonderful parody of republican debates featuring Ron Paul. Every time a candidate was asked a question, they would talk about how awesome America is and people would cheer. When Ron Paul answered the questions, he would actually talk about what he wanted to do for this nation and why... and nobody cared.

So there's my beef with conservative presidential candidates. They tend to be even dumber than the liberal candidates. At least the liberal candidates are a bit more open about their plans... It's a lose-lose situation until we stop falling for conservative BS. But if conservatives start voting libertarian, then we'll divide our votes in two - so it's understandable why people hesitate to change who they vote for. This just shows how horrible our electoral system is. We need a system where we can vote for multiple people so that if someone we vote for doesn't win, our vote is given to someone else. That way, if you want to vote for Ron Paul but you would rather Romney win than Obama, you your vote for Ron Paul would go to Romney if Ron didn't lead (if that makes sense). If anyone is curious about what I mean, let me know and I'll link a wonderful video about this.

Here's a wonderful video series about voting. I decided I'd go ahead and post it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7tWHJfhiyo&list=PLaKBWJ3rc1WEgeJVOeNTdhZHqPvFi__WT

We need to change our voting system - but it's an issue that's never brought up in America.

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

What did you think of the 'Americans Elect' attempt of 2012?

No. For a multitude of reasons.

If one really cares about their political system, they will have the initiative to vote in person. If they cannot vote in person, they will influence people who will vote in person. In an ideal situation, they will do both.

That and the possibilities for manipulation of results are staggering.

I agree, particularly to the last line. Hackers apparently can get into just about any computer they want to get into, and the government apparently has a great deal of lip service but not much actual hardware and software for server security. Some corrupt organization like MoveOn.org would undoubtedly be delighted to hack into the system and elect Hillary or whomever they wanted.

Voting needs to be done face-to-face, in an election booth, after having presented proper ID -- and oh, by the way ...

... on a paper ballot.

Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds

We have the best election system in the world.....that money can buy.
