Re: Michael Moore infers "snipers are cowards"; Medal of Honor recipient responds
My friend, there is no need to lie about liberals when you just flat out admitted liberals' intentions. It is not the government's role to steal from one person and give to another. And the funny thing is, the liberals in charge don't give their money to those in need, they always seem to take other peoples' money. Like Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually socialists run out of other peoples' money." Besides, conservatives donate more money to charitable organizations than liberals.
Ah ha! Now we're getting somewhere!
Most people, including liberals, will say that it's wrong to steal money. So why is it that they're perfectly fine with taxation? In fact, when do you feel it's okay for taxation to happen? And most importantly, why do people feel differently about taxation and not theft?
If we assume liberals just want to steal from other people, we're going to miss out on opportunities to figure out new solutions. If we go around telling people liberals just want to steal from others, we can only get so far. But if we can figure out WHY they think taxation is acceptable, then we can try to work through their own logical processes and maybe find more convincing arguments to change their views. And even though most of them will be set in their ways, we can use the knowledge we obtain from stubborn liberals to help understand what we need to do to teach those who are on the fence.
For example:
Let's say you have someone who's undecided if they support 'liberal policies' or more 'conservative policies'. They're very passionate about helping others and they want people with the ability to help others to do more. Lead by emotion, it's easy to understand why they might begin to lead left economically if they don't understand economics or if they (like most people) don't view taxation as theft.
If you assume liberals have bad intentions and you tell this person, "liberals are lazy bums who just want to ruin this country", what do you think will happen? Chances are good, they'll talk to liberal minded people and realize liberals aren't these evil bums who want to watch the country burn. Instead, they're going to see caring people who want to help the needy. HOWEVER, if you acknowledge that liberals tend to have good intentions and you tell this person about basic economics, the philosophy of taxation, and why liberals are misguided, they'll be less easily persuaded by liberals. Obviously it's not a perfect plan, but the way we approach these situations does make a difference whether it feels like it or not.
There is no government role for either. They need to leave families and faith alone.
I agree 100%.
As Sirk said, Moore makes himself a target by being a public figure, and utterly stupid. You don't like my "political incorrectness" toward him, don't read my posts.
To be fair, you're speaking in an open forum and open to criticism just as much as Micheal Moore. I'll have to agree that some of your statements are a bit radical, though I understand why you might why you feel the way you do.
I have interjected many of times on blog's on here where people were putting down democrats and liberals, but then bragging about Bush or other republicans like the ones we have in congress now. I just simply told them do they realize those republicans in congress are playing childish games too. Neither side is wanting to budge, and continue to play blame games.
This is the problem with the "us vs. them" mentality so many people have. Too many people are so caught up in calling out liberals that they turn a blind eye to their own political party. It's a shame because if you really look at what liberals and conservatives are doing, you'll find that they both tend to lead this government in the same direction. Both parties may disagree on some things here and there, but ultimately both have no problem with government taking over the lives of the people.
Well since we are sitting here this morning I just got done watching a news report on who possibly would be running for presidency this next election, and they talked to a couple of the republican candidates on how they are pushing even right now in the states they live in to raise taxes on the middle class. I can not go and just post every time I have done this for you to see, on how some have defended republicans while bashing democrats and liberals as it would take up way to much room. Which is against the policies of this site. All I can do is tell you to keep watching as I will always speak up when this happens.......
As much as I dislike liberals, conservative presidential candidates are some of the most stupid people I have ever seen in my life. Even worse is how crooked the media is and how blind conservative voters are!
Did anyone watch the republican debates with Ron Paul? Every time a republican candidate was asked a question, they would beat around the bush and avoid answering the question directly. They would try to change the topic and talk about how great America is without telling us what they thought about certain topics. The ONLY candidate who didn't do this was Ron Paul. Why didn't people vote for Ron Paul? Because they didn't think Ron Paul had a chance of winning. But if the media said "Ron Paul is doing amazing at the debates", we would have had a massively different outcome. But no, the media ignored Ron Paul and acted like that idiot Romney somehow did well in the debates.
I doubt most of you watch south park, but they did a wonderful parody of republican debates featuring Ron Paul. Every time a candidate was asked a question, they would talk about how awesome America is and people would cheer. When Ron Paul answered the questions, he would actually talk about what he wanted to do for this nation and why... and nobody cared.
So there's my beef with conservative presidential candidates. They tend to be even dumber than the liberal candidates. At least the liberal candidates are a bit more open about their plans... It's a lose-lose situation until we stop falling for conservative BS. But if conservatives start voting libertarian, then we'll divide our votes in two - so it's understandable why people hesitate to change who they vote for. This just shows how horrible our electoral system is. We need a system where we can vote for multiple people so that if someone we vote for doesn't win, our vote is given to someone else. That way, if you want to vote for Ron Paul but you would rather Romney win than Obama, you your vote for Ron Paul would go to Romney if Ron didn't lead (if that makes sense). If anyone is curious about what I mean, let me know and I'll link a wonderful video about this.
