I think you are beating your head against the wall. Some people just don't get our depravity.
I think it is because they are better than we are.......lol

When my children fail what kind of a dad would I be if I withdrew my love from them and kicked them to the curb? Sometimes when I see their dirty little mischievous faces I see how God looks on me.p

So you never sin either right?
Hi JesusLives,

Please read my post #716 again. I said that our physical body sins, and that it is already dead (by faith) because of its sin, Rom 8:10. No Christian is perfect in behavior. But our failings are not sin that can be charged against us, as Rom 8:33, 1Pet 4:1, and 1John 3:9 confirm.

The charge of sin applies to those who remain under the jurisdiction of the law (Rom 3:19). Such reject Christ and the righteousness, holiness, sinlessness that we have in him. And any who follow false, lukewarm doctrines that mix works of the law, with grace, such only bring themselves back under the law and condemnation. You cannot mix works with grace, Rom 11:6.

A seventh day Adventist told me that God never intended for humans to eat meat, but meant that if you're going to anyways at least cook the blood out first. Is this your view also?

Hi, as I said I am a Seventh Day Adventist. The only reason this question answer post is here is because I have seen many people throw things at my Faith without really knowing what we believe.

So I will be answering any Bible questions you have if I can. Repeat BIBLE questions. Everything I believe and that my Church teaches is firmly based in Scripture and no where else.

Now I have a lot on my plate so please be patient with me. This post is not designed to argue but rather help those who wish to better understand our position. You do not have to agree with me in any way. I will however be using the bible to answer any questions. so if you need to discuss anything with me about a topic that you think I am wrong in then feel free. but use your Bible. I will not pay any heed to those who come in here and rant on their soap box without scripture to back them up.

In other words, lets be Christian about this. I have no need nor want to put others down. and will not respond to put downs and unchristian behaviour.

One other thing. I am a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor, and one thing I have learnt is that most Professed Seventh Day Adventists do not know what we actually believe. Why do I say this? Because While you may have read things about us and done some study. chances are, you don't understand half as much about our teaching as you think you do.

I do not pretend to know everything about how other faiths believe even though I used to be a pentecostal. I am not ignorant enough to think that I know them because I once was one. so please afford me the same respect.

That being said, May God bless us all as we draw closer to Him in truth and in Spirit.

As I am not 100% sure on this, I can only offer you a link to someone else reasoning behind this, which is to long to copy and past.

"Every species of animal which God had created were preserved in the ark. The confused species which God did not create, which were the result of amalgamation, were destroyed by the flood. Since the flood there has been amalgamation of man and beast, as may be seen in the almost endless varieties of species of animals, and in certain races of men." (Spiritual Gifts, Volume 3, page 75, paragraph 2.)

Look I posted the error of what was said by this evil woman, I also posted a way others could look and see everything in context... If your trying to show error in a doctrine or a false prophecy that's what you post...not pages and pages of things to confuse the issue. If you tell a lie ...its a lie...no matter how you try to cover it up with half truths.
Quoting half sentences and incomplete statements without any context, are not practices of those trying to defend truth. Pointing out error involves a great deal more than the above mentioned practices. It takes real time, effort, and knowledge. Things which your actions and quotes thus far reveal you are lacking. Anyone can take partial statements and words of others and make them out to say whatever they wish. Those who employ such tactics in either pointing out error, or establishing truth are usually themselves practicing deception. You accuse EGW of being evil and attempt to prove it with such tactics, I accuse you of being evil for using such tactics by way of continuously making false accusations. This being the case, it most certainly may be that you are the one who is evil and controlled by the Devil, not EGW.

Yea I know God don't get it wrong...false prophets do! And then they try to blame God....did ellen g white make these predictions or not?
Number one, she did not even make the prediction the quote you quoted is referring too, William Miller did. Number two, she did not blame God for anything as I already pointed out, but only maintained that He was in control and did not allow for a mistake to be noticed. Do you deny that God was in control? Number three, you are again alluding to predictions EGW made concerning the timing of Christ's 2nd coming as though she made several, when she never did. I repeat again, and again, provide the quote and references to these many predictions you keep alluding too.

Please have the dignity to answer replies to your accusations with actual dialogue, rather than just repeating the accusations. Not replying or entering into any kind of dialogue is highly suggestive of either, your own ignorance concerning the matter, or the inability to do so because you were and are wrong.

Union With Christ in Our Work
By Mrs. E. G. White
Many who have called themselves Adventists have been time-setters. Time after time has been set for Christ to come, but repeated failures have been the result. The definite time of our Lord’s coming is declared to be beyond the ken of mortals. Even the angels who minister unto those who shall be heirs of salvation, know not the day or the hour. “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Because the times repeatedly set have passed, the world is in a more decided state of unbelief than before in regard to the near advent of Christ. They look upon the failures of the time-setters with disgust; and because men have been so deceived, they turn from the truth substantiated by the word of God that the end of all things is at hand.
Those who so presumptuously preach definite time, in so doing gratify the adversary of souls; for they are advancing infidelity rather than Christianity. They produce scripture, and by false interpretation show a chain of argument which apparently proves their position. But their failures show that they are false prophets, that they do not rightly interpret the language of inspiration. The word of God is truth and verity; but men have perverted its meaning. These errors have brought the truth of God for these last days into disrepute. Adventists are derided by ministers of all denominations. Yet God’s servants must not hold their peace. The signs foretold in prophecy are fast fulfilling around us. This should arouse every true follower of Christ to zealous action.
Those who think they must preach definite time in order to make an impression upon the people, do not work from the right stand-point. The feelings of the people may be stirred, and their fears aroused; but they do not move from principle. An excitement is created, but when the time passes, as it has done repeatedly, those who moved out upon time fall back into coldness and darkness and sin, and it is almost impossible to arouse their consciences without some great excitement.

[h=2]The Review and Herald[/h] [h=3]December 27, 1898[/h] [h=4]Words of Warning—No. 3[/h] Mrs. E. G. White
Christ gave special directions in regard to this event. “Now learn a parable of the fig-tree,” he said; “when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation [the generation that saw the signs] shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Christ plainly said that he himself could not make known the day or the hour of his second appearing. Had he been at liberty to make this time known, what need would there have been for him to exhort his followers to maintain an attitude of earnest watchfulness, living, working, and waiting as if their time was not their own, but the Lord’s; cultivating fidelity, faith, and love; and purifying the soul through the truth?
Christ told his disciples that the time of his coming was involved in secrecy; yet notwithstanding this, there have been and will be those who claim to know when this great event will take place. Very earnest they are in trying to map out the future, which the Lord has placed in a thick cloud; and notwithstanding their failures, they continue their work. But their reasoning is false, and the Lord has warned them off the ground they occupy; for the coming of the Son of man is God’s mystery. “Secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever.”
“But as the days of Noe were,” Christ continued, “so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Christ does not here bring to view a temporal millennium,—a thousand years in which all are to prepare for eternity. He tells us that as it was in Noah’s day, so will it be when the Son of man comes.

[h=2]The Review and Herald[/h] [h=3]March 22, 1892[/h] [h=4]“It Is Not for You to Know the Times and the Seasons”[/h] [Sermon at Lansing, Mich., September 5, 1891.]
By Mrs. E. G. White
This was the document I came upon last Monday in searching over my writings, and here is another which was written in regard to a man who was setting time in 1884, and sending broadcast his arguments to prove his theories. The report of what he was doing was brought to me at the Jackson, Mich., camp-meeting, and I told the people they need not take heed to this man’s theory; for the event he predicted would not take place. The times and the seasons God has put in his own power, and why has not God given us this knowledge?—Because we would not make a right use of it if he did. A condition of things would result from this knowledge among our people that would greatly retard the work of God in preparing a people to stand in the great day that is to come. We are not to live upon time excitement. We are not to be engrossed with speculations in regard to the times and the seasons which God has not revealed. Jesus has told his disciples to “watch,” but not for definite time. His followers are to be in the position of those who are listening for the orders of their Captain; they are to watch, wait, pray, and work, as they approach the time for the coming of the Lord; but no one will be able to predict just when that time will come; for “of that day and hour knoweth no man.” You will not be able to say that he will come in one, two, or five years, neither are you to put off his coming by stating that it may not be for ten or twenty years.
It is the duty of the people of God to have their lamps trimmed and burning, to be as men that wait for the Bridegroom, when he shall return from the wedding. You have not a moment to lose in neglect of the great salvation that has been provided for you. The time of the probation of souls is coming to an end. From day to day the destiny of men is being sealed, and even from this congregation we know not how soon many shall close their eyes in death and be habited for the tomb. We should now consider that our life is swiftly passing away, that we are not safe one moment unless our life is hid with Christ in God. Our duty is not to be looking forward to some special time for some special work to be done for us, but to go forward in our work of warning the world; for we are to be witnesses of Christ to the uttermost parts of the world. All around us are the young, the impenitent, the unconverted, and what are we doing for them?

We felt an unusual spirit of prayer. And as we prayed the Holy Ghost fell upon us. We were very happy. Soon I was lost to earthly things and was wrapped in a vision of God's glory. I saw an angel flying swiftly to me. He quickly carried me from the earth to the Holy City. In the city I saw a temple, which I entered. EGW

Re 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

who do we believe false prophet ellen g white ...or the Word of God and the Apostle of the Lord...John?
More ignorance, only this time your ignorance is regarding scriptural knowledge itself, not the writings of EGW. There is a temple in heaven, and will be until God creates the new heaven and new earth. The scripture you quoted is part of a description of that new heaven and new earth. Now we see that you are willing to twist and manipulate the word of God also, in order to bring forth more false accusations.

Psalm 11 4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. 5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

God’s temple, and his throne are in heaven.

Psalm 18 6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. 7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

Psalm 29 7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. 8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

Isaiah 6 1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. 4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

God’s throne, is in his temple. The seraphim mentioned above, are very similar to those mentioned in the book of Revelation who were around the throne. They also say basically the same thing. They both have six wings. In Revelation however, their wings are not covering their faces, so John could see them, and describes them to us more fully.

Habakkuk 2 20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Micah 1 2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple. 3 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place

Malachi 3 1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Hebrews 8 1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.

Exodus 25 8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it

Hebrews 9 1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; ………………………………................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

………………………………................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

The sanctuary that Moses built was made after the pattern which was shown to him. This pattern, was no doubt the heavenly sanctuary itself. For the Lord said see that you make it after the pattern of the tabernacle. What tabernacle do you think he was he talking about?

Revelation 1 4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;………………………………...........................

12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Exodus 25 31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same………………………………......................................................................................

37 And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. ……………………………….................

40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was showed thee in the mount.

God’s throne is in the temple in heaven. The golden candlesticks, with seven lamps were made after the pattern shown to Moses. This pattern, was the candlesticks which John saw in the temple in heaven. There is a temple in heaven, and the temple on earth was modeled after it.

Revelation 4 2 And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

Again, God’s throne is in the temple in heaven. The beasts mentioned above, are the seraphim that Isaiah saw in vision of the throne of God, in his temple, that we discussed earlier. The King James uses the word beast for what Isaiah called seraphim. Other versions call them living creatures. Strong’s concordance suggests living beings. The seven lamps of fire are again, the lamps which Moses patterned his after. That is to the best of human ability.

Revelation 5 1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. ………………………………......

6 And I beheld, and, lo,in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. ………………………..

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ……………………………….....................................................

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Revelation 6 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Revelation 7 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

………………………………................................................................................................
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

Revelation 8 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Exodus 27 1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

Again, an alter in the temple of heaven, and one in the temple that Moses made after the pattern.

Revelation 11 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Exodus 25 10 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

The ark in the temple in heaven, and the ark Moses made as a pattern of it.

Revelation 14 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without faultbefore the throne of God.………………………

15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. ………………………………..................................................

17And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Revelation 15 5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: ……………………………….......................................

7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. 8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Revelation 16 1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. ……………

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. ………………………………..............................................

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Again, God’s throne is in the temple in heaven.

Revelation 19 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

There is a temple in heaven. The visions of John in the book of Revelation take place in the temple in heaven. God is on his throne in the temple in heaven. From there, he is in control of everything. This is the same temple where Christ ever liveth to make intercession for us. It is the center of activity concerning this fallen and rebellious world. This temple will exist, until God makes all things new, in the new heaven, and the new earth. There will no longer be a need for a temple of intercession, for God will be the God of his people, and will be with his people. God the Father, and the Son will be the temple for their people, in the new heaven, and new earth.

Revelation 21 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. ………………………………..............

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. ………………………………...........

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Revelation 22 1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

I wonder what that "unusual" spirit was?
It was a desire to know and understand the truth, and a feeling that only prayer could bring this about. Maybe you should try it some time, you might be convicted to stop bringing forth false accusations regarding things you know little about.

I, like you, observe the 7th day. However, I do not belong to the 7th day adventist church, since it has become greatly corrupted. There are many things that your religion is doing wrong, unfortunately. For example, the General Conference has united with the Pope on many levels. This is a fact, not a conjecture. They don't preach openly who the beast is, the mark of the beast, nor its image. They rather be friends with the world (false religions) than expose them for what they are.

Also, they keep collecting tithes, the 10% of its members' salaries. This custom doesn't apply today. Tithes were given to the levites annually since they didn't inherit any land. There are no more levites today since their priesthood ended with the death of Jesus. But today, SDA have created their own version of the tithing system: they collect tithes weekly, they use it for the construction of buildings, they invest in the stock exchange, etc.. This is not what tithing was used for. Sadly, the 7th day adventist church is running like a business, like many other churches and doesn't care about what God has to say.

They have formed part of Babylon, since they have become friends with the Great Babylon (Roman Catholic church). I advise that you flee from her.

With love in Jesus Christ.
Some of what you say is true, but it does not apply to all of the Church. Lucky for all of us, that no one is dependent upon a denomination for their salvation.

You know Sylven....a true prophet of God has a biblical standard they must meet or God declares they are a false prophet! He does not play with false prophets nor false Apostles...he says we should hate them! Where do you think a real biblical prophet got it wrong on a prophecy from God? And can you name one real prophecy from this woman that came to pass?
Christian Education (1893, 1894), page 120, paragraph 1
Chapter Title: The Value of Bible Study.
We should not allow any argument of man's to turn us away from a thorough investigation of Bible truth. The opinions and customs of men are not to be received as of divine authority. God has revealed in his word what is the whole duty of man, and we are not to be swayed from the great standard of righteousness. He sent his only begotten Son to be our example, and bade us to hear and to follow him. We must not be influenced from the truth as it is in Jesus, because great and professedly good men urge their ideas above the plain statements of the word of God.

Education (1903), page 17, paragraph 1
Chapter Title: Source and Aim of True Education
The Holy Scriptures are the perfect standard of truth, and as such should be given the highest place in education. To obtain an education worthy of the name, we must receive a knowledge of God, the Creator, and of Christ, the Redeemer, as they are revealed in the sacred word.

The Faith I Live By (1958), page 13, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: The Word and Works of God
In His Word, God has committed to men the knowledge necessary for salvation. The Holy Scriptures are to be accepted as an authoritative, infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the revealer of doctrines, and the test of experience.

Gospel Workers (1915), page 250, paragraph 4
Chapter Title: Helps in Gospel Work
The word of God is the standard of character. In giving us this word, God has put us in possession of every truth essential to salvation. Thousands have drawn water from these wells of life, yet there is no diminishing of the supply. Thousands have set the
251
Lord before them, and by beholding have become changed into the same image. But these searchers have not exhausted these grand and holy themes. Thousands more may engage in the work of searching out the mysteries of salvation.

In Heavenly Places (1967), page 133, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: The Great Standard of Right and Wrong
In the Word of God is contained everything essential to the perfecting of the man of God. It is like a treasure house, full of valuable and precious stores, but we do not appreciate its riches nor realize the necessity of equipping ourselves with the treasures of truth. We do not realize the great necessity of searching the Scriptures for ourselves. Many neglect the study of the Word of God in order to pursue some worldly interest or to indulge in some trifling pleasure. . . . Oh, we might better put off anything of an earthly character than the investigation of the Word of God, which is able to make us wise unto life eternal. "Given by inspiration of God," . . . the Book of books has the highest claims to our reverent attention. . . .

Mind, Character, and Personality Volume 1 (1977), page 323, paragraph 5
Chapter Title: Conscience
Take your conscience to the Word of God and see if your life and character are in accordance with the standard of righteousness which God has there revealed. You can then determine whether or not you have an intelligent faith and what manner of conscience is yours. The conscience of man cannot be trusted unless it is under the influence of divine grace. Satan takes advantage of an unenlightened conscience, and thereby leads men into all manner of delusions, because they have not made the Word of God their counselor. Many have invented

324

a gospel of their own in the same manner as they have substituted a law of their own for God's law.--RH, Sept 3, 1901.

Mind, Character, and Personality Volume 2 (1977), page 699, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: Pseudoscience[SEE CHAPTER 3, "DANGERS IN PSYCHOLOGY."]
That Which Contradicts God's Word Is Guesswork. --He who has a knowledge of God and His word has a settled faith in the divinity of the Holy Scriptures. He does not test the Bible by man's ideas of science. He brings these ideas to the test of the unerring standard. He knows that God's word is truth, and truth can never contradict itself; whatever in the teaching of so-called science contradicts the truth of God's revelation is mere human guesswork.--8T 325 (1904).

The Review and Herald, June 11, 1908, paragraph 2
Article Title: What the Word of God Is to UsMrs. E. G. White
The Bible is the great standard of right and wrong, clearly defining sin and holiness. Its living principles, running through our lives like threads of gold, are our only safeguard in trial and temptation.

Look when you claim to speak for God about forth-coming issues and make predictions in His name...you are in fact claiming to be a prophet...now you posted one statement where she kind of rejects the title...in others she seems to claim the title. but the point is that she claimed to speak for God and make predictions that failed over and over!
You keep repeating the above lie. Provide the quotes of these repeated predictions which failed over and over. You do understand of course, that the bible itself has made many predictions which also have not occurred yet, and therefore could be called into the same kind of question you are applying to EGW. Some things she predicted just haven't happened yet, some of them are happening right now, and some are misunderstood or bewing twisted by people like you.

No I reject in absolute terms that ellen g white had a real faith in Christ, and with all the authority of the scriptures that condemn false prophets and teachers say that she has no part in the Kingdom of God...weather the Lord might have mercy on her soul and save her from the fires of hell...I cannot say?

The Faith I Live By, page 108, paragraph 5
Chapter Title: God's Remedy For Sin
Salvation is God's free gift to the believer, given to him for Christ's sake alone. The troubled soul may find peace through faith in Christ, and his peace will be in proportion to his faith and trust. He cannot present his good works as a plea for the salvation of his soul.

God's Amazing Grace, page 331, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: What About Good Works?
Our acceptance with God is sure only through His beloved Son, and good works are but the result of the working of His sin-pardoning love. They are no credit to us, and we have nothing accorded to us for our good works by which we may claim a part in the salvation of our souls. Salvation is God's free gift to the believer, given to him for Christ's sake alone. The troubled soul may find peace through faith in Christ, and his peace will be in proportion to his faith and trust. He cannot present his good works as a plea for the salvation of his soul.

In Heavenly Places, page 154, paragraph 6
Chapter Title: The Impress of Heaven
The Son of God came down to earth that in Him men and women might have a representation of the perfect characters which alone God could accept. Through the grace of Christ every provision has been made for the salvation of the human family. It is possible for every transaction entered into by those who claim to be Christians to be as pure as were the deeds of Christ. And the soul who accepts the virtues of Christ's character and appropriates the merits of His life is as precious in the sight of God as was His own beloved Son.

The Publishing Ministry, page 277, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: Recruiting Literature Evangelists
God's Means of Exalting Man.--God has given man a part to act in accomplishing the salvation of his fellow men. He can work in connection with Christ by doing acts of mercy and beneficence. But he cannot redeem them, not being able to satisfy the claims of insulted justice. This the Son of God alone can do, by laying aside His honor and glory, clothing His divinity with humanity, and coming to earth to humiliate Himself and shed His blood in behalf of the human race.

Selected Messages Book 1, page 331, paragraph 1
Chapter Title: Come and Seek and Find[THISARTICLE APPEARED IN THE SIGNS OF THETIMES, DEC. 19, 1892.]
It is impossible for man to save himself. He may deceive himself in regard to this matter, but he cannot save himself. Christ's righteousness alone can avail for his salvation, and this is the gift of God. This is the wedding garment in which you may appear as a welcome guest at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Let faith take hold of Christ without delay, and you will be a new creature in Jesus, a light to the world.

Selected Messages Book 1, page 407, paragraph 1
Chapter Title: How to Meet a Controverted Pointof Doctrine[MORNING TALK ATBATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN, JAN. 29, 1890,WHICH WAS PRINTED IN THE REVIEW ANDHERALD OF FEB. 18, 1890.]
Christ had given precious gems of truth, but men had bound them up in the rubbish of superstition and error. He had imparted to them the words of life, but they did not live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. He saw that the world could not find the word of God, for it was hidden by the traditions of men. He came to place before the world the relative importance of heaven and earth, and put truth in its own place. Jesus alone could reveal the truth which it was necessary men should know in order that they might obtain salvation. He only could place it in the framework of truth, and it was His work to free it from error and to set it before men in its heavenly light.

Selected Messages Book 3, page 199, paragraph 3
Chapter Title: Emphasis on Salvation Theme
Faith and Good Works--1895.--Our acceptance with God is sure only through His beloved Son, and good works are but the result of the working of His sin-pardoning love. They are no credit to us, and we have nothing accorded to us for our good works by which we may claim a part in the salvation of our souls. S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 6, page 1072, paragraph 3
Chapter Title: Romans
The salvation that Christ made such a sacrifice to gain for man, is that which is alone of value, that which saves from sin--the cause of all the misery and woe in our world. Mercy extended to the sinner is constantly drawing him to Jesus. If he responds, coming in penitence with confession, in faith laying hold of the hope set before him in the gospel, God will not despise the broken and contrite heart. Thus the law of God is not weakened, but the power of sin is broken, and the scepter of mercy is extended to the penitent sinner (Letter 1f, 1890).

The Spirit of Prophecy Volume Two, page 204, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: Chapter XVI. - Sermon on the Mount.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven." The poor in spirit are those who claim no personal merit, and boast of no virtue in themselves. Realizing their utter helplessness, and deeply convicted of sin, they put no faith in mere outward ceremonies, but cast themselves upon Jesus who is all-righteous
205

and all-compassionate. The Christian can only rise through humility. The proud heart strives in vain to earn salvation by good works; for though one cannot be saved without good works, yet these alone will not suffice to win eternal life. After he has done all he can, Christ must impute to him his own righteousness.

That I May Know Him, page 229, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: The Faith God Accepts
There are many in the Christian world who claim that all that is necessary to salvation is to have faith; works are nothing, faith is the only essential. But God's Word tells us that faith without works is dead, being alone. . . . Faith and works go hand in hand. . . . Works will never save us; it is the merit of Christ that will avail in our behalf. Through faith in Him, Christ will make all our imperfect efforts acceptable to God. The faith we are required to have is not a do-nothing faith; saving faith is that which works by love and purifies the soul. He who will lift up holy hands to God without wrath and doubting will walk intelligently in the way of God's commandments.

This Day With God, page 18, paragraph 5
Chapter Title: Antidote for Apathy
A religious experience that is not founded in Christ and Him alone is worthless. . . . Men of intellectual powers need a clear, scriptural presentation of the plan of salvation. Let the truth in its simplicity and power be presented to them. If this does not hold the attention and arouse the interest, they never can be interested in heavenly and divine things. In every congregation there are souls who are unsatisfied. Every Sabbath they want to hear something definite explaining how they can be saved, how they are to become Christians. The important thing for them to know is, How can a sinner be justified before God?--Letter 23a, Jan. 10, 1893, to Brother E. H. Gates.

Bible Training School, August 1, 1903, paragraph 1
Article Title: Character BuildingMrs. E. G. White
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." How is this? Fear lest you shall weave into the fabric your own threads of selfishness. Fear lest you shall err in choosing the timber for your character building. God alone can supply the solid timber. Well may mortal man be afraid of weaving into his character the miserable threads of his own inherited and cultivated tendencies. Well may he tremble lest he shall not submit all things to Him who is working in his behalf, that God's will shall be done in him. God welcomes all who come to Him just as they are, not building themselves up in self-righteousness, not seeking to justify self, not claiming merit for that which they call a good action, not priding themselves on their knowledge of what constitutes righteousness. Put on the wedding garment which Christ has prepared, and drop the old citizen's dress: then you can sit down in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.

The Review and Herald, October 7, 1909, paragraph 11
Article Title: Sanctified ServiceMrs. E. G. White
All the congregations in our land need to learn more of Christ and him crucified. A religious experience that is not founded on Christ, and him alone, is worthless. Let the truth, in its simplicity and power, be presented to them. This will hold the attention and arouse the interest, and lead the mind to heavenly and divine things. In every congregation there are souls who are unsatisfied. Every Sabbath they should hear something that will help them in the way of salvation and teach them how to become better Christians. The important thing for them to know is, How can a sinner be justified before God? Let the way of salvation be presented before them in simplicity. Lift up Jesus as the sinner's only hope.

The Signs of the Times , April 18, 1900, paragraph 6
Article Title: Christ and Nicodemus.
The brazen serpent was uplifted in the wilderness that those who looked in faith might be made whole. In like manner God sends a restoring, healing message to men, calling upon them to look away from man and earthly things, and place their trust in God. That brazen serpent uplifted in the wilderness was a symbol of Christ. The faith which the believing Israelites exercised as they looked at it, we must exercise as we look to Christ. With the same simplicity sinners must receive the Saviour; for He alone can save from sin. He is our ransom. Whoever rejects the salvation He proffers is lost to God and heaven.

Manuscript Releases Volume Three [Nos. 162-209] (1990), page 420, paragraph 1
Chapter Title: MR No. 207 - Manuscript Materials Requested for Use in Books and Articles
There is not a point that needs to be dwelt upon more earnestly, repeated more frequently, or established more firmly in the minds of all, than the impossibility of fallen man meriting anything by his own best good works. Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ alone. . . .
Christ has given me words to speak: "Ye must be born again, else you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Therefore all who have the right understanding of this matter should put away their controversial spirit and seek the Lord with all their hearts. Then they will find Christ and can give distinctive character to their religious experience. They should keep this matter--the simplicity of true godliness--distinctly before the people in every discourse. This will come home to the heart of every hungering, thirsting soul who is longing to come into the assurance of hope and faith and perfect trust in God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
