You are welcome to question it. I don't see how I am talking out both sides of my mouth though. Nothing I have said has contradicted anything else I've said, nor has it undermined scripture in any way. What bugs me is when you start calling me false, my faith false, etc. If you think I'm in error, there is another way of going about showing me ;)

And if you can show me, I will be receptive to it, but if you can't, then I will stick with my beliefs as I think they are biblically sound.

You aren't automatically right about everything either so you can't expect to state your opinion and expect me to be like "oh yeah, man was I wrong, geez, I'm sorry".

All I ask is that you show me the same respect that I am trying to show you, even if we are at opposing views.

You did put words in my mouth with the "fear saved" thing. I never said that. You assumed that and ran with it.

I think we both agree that we are saved by faith in Christ and regardless of all the non-essentials, we can at least be on par with that.

Let me ask you...DO you fear electricity? Does that fear of electricity keep you from being around it? Does the Fear keep you from turning on a light? Or do you have a instinctual understanding that it can be very lethal to you and kill you outright if you are not careful?

I have instinctual understanding about the lethality of electricity and choose to highly respect it, but it does not keep me from working around it, using it or consuming it.

I view my relationship with God the same way. I have deep spiritual awareness of who God is and what he desires and that he holds me in his hand, I also highly respect how he *HAD* to deal with people and SIN outside of the new covenant. That makes me fear him and respect him, but it does not keep me from working unto him, using him or consuming him....

Your living in the Old covenant mind set.

Same God on both sides of the bible bro. This is not a debate about law, but fear for God. I like most of what you said here though about your own fear of God and what that means to you. I can respect that.

Ok so I meant to post this last night but I fell asleep:

My bf's cousin recently came out as gay. She said she has a gf and my bf's dad (who is kinda like her adopted dad) said that eventhough he doesn't agree with her, he still loves her. My bf was so so so happy no one broke out yelling and in a way so am I.

I'm happy no one was mean to her but I'm sad that she is living in sin. Is this a godly attitude?

Also prayers for her would be appreciated. Ik this isn't the prayer request forum but hey, two birds with one stone, right?

The best love we can show them is the kind of love Paul teaches the Corinthian Church about the man engaged in sexual immorality. Outside the Church, be ready to pick them up off the ground if and when they reach rock bottom.

PS. I just wanted to clear something up, If the gay person knows homosexuality is a sin and struggles with it, don't excommunication them unless they show an outward gay expression that unappropriate. If the person is openly gay and thinks it's acceptable to God, advocating it, then he/she needs to go.

You have so much yet to learn. The Bible plainly tells us why they had to leave the garden (It's right there in the book, for us to read) They were not "booted out" as punishment, but rather, as the Bible clearly states, to keep them from continuing to eat of the Tree of Life..... so that they would be able to die. This was one of the most loving and merciful things God did for them.

Without death, salvation could not come. They would have had to live forever in an unsaved state.

Not to many know this but do you know that there was actually two trees in the garden.
The first was the tree of knowledge that they ate from that gave them the knowledge to know good and evil.
The second tree that they were cast out of the garden before they ate from it, was the tree of life. If they would have eaten from it they would have been given eternal life.

Notice Genesis 2:17 says the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and by eating from it they will die.
That is because by eating it death and sin entered the world, so then God cast them out so they would not eat from the tree of life also (Genesis 3:22) and become immortal.....

Well, let's not lead people astray by saying they had never eaten from the tree of life, either. We are not told this. All we are told is that they were allowed to eat of any of the trees of the garden, except for one. And that was the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

There are many assumptions and theories attributed to the Tree of Life, but the Bible is silent about any specifics concerning the tree...... except that, somehow, eating the fruit of it would sustain life indefinitely. It is not told if this meant to eat of it once, or to continually have it as a part of their diet. A parallel to Jesus would seem to suggest the continued eating... just as the Bible says to "abide in", or stay connected to, the vine, which is Jesus. BUT we are never told this.

Lets talk about Christ and the good things of the world.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Let us not talk and dwell on gay people since we all know that homosexuality is a sin to God.

Why dwell on another man or womans sin??

Let us simply pray for any brother or sister that is homosexual so they may come to know the truth and be set free from their chains.

Let us talk of all good things, noble things, excellent and pure things. Let us praise God and give Him thanks for all things.

But lets do it in such a way so that homosexuals see it and want to be a part of it.

Lets not dwell on them and their sinfullness as it will produce absolutely zero fruit what-so-ever and will actually end up being counter-productive for you.

You're intentions are good. But your motives are out by a few hundred miles. :)

So recently God jas been giving me this compassion for gay people. He has been leading me to videos, showing me how gay people can feel hopless and lonley in the church. I wanna start a civil discussion on how we can encourage our gay brothers and sisters.
You are very kind. I'm so glad that there are people who feel the way you do! :)

Amen to that. We already have far too many judgmental people who don't even want them inside "their" churches. It's a good thing Jesus welcomes them into "His."

I love gay people.. I use to be one prior to giving my life over to God. Even though I am an "ex-gay" which is not heard of very much I still love the gay community! They have great hearts and are so kind. They are still human nonetheless! God bless them all!
