So now please explain to us how summarizing something does away with it. Please explain how love relieves you of the necessity of keeping the Ten Commandments.

Do you keep the sixth Commandment, or just pay it lip service?

Do you keep the seventh Commandment or just pay it lip service?

Do you keep the fourth Commandment or just pay it lip service?

What is CLEARLY taught is that keeping the Commandments is love...

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Christ says keeping the Commandments is pretty important...

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

John also...

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

In fact, that is what you will find the true saints of God doing...

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

So, Mitspa, perhaps you ought to read this verse and meditate on it...

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Right those who teach love teach others to fulfill the law...those who teach legalism teach others to break the law.

All the law...means all the law! is fulfilled in one word! love


Ga 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Please show us the scriptures that forbid teaching the keeping of the Ten Commandments.

Pretty much what I thought, you pay it lip service and then proceed to live your life as you want to and call it obedience by brandishing the word love.

A lot of words but no substance.

Well it don't really matter what you think about me or the Sabbath ...it only matters what Gods Word says.

Why do you guys deny love?

1Jo 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 ¶ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

There is no love in legalism. When people continually stress obedience to the literal law, inferring your salvation is in grave doubt if you cannot obey it, in reality these people know in their hearts they cannot obey all the law required of them. So they set the bar at a level that enables their conscience to follow Christianity. As long as they don't sin below the bar they are OK, God will in reality accept that. They know they sin above where they have placed the bar, but as no one is perfect God will accept that and they will make it to Heaven.
Then they tend to look down on those who commit sins that for them are not permissible, and are below where they set the bar.

I have found in life, those who most stress obedience to the law are those who have the most trouble following the heart of the law. It was true in biblical times and is true today
 
It is not hard to get up for church on a Saturday as opposed to a sunday. But for those who know they cannot obey much of the law that refers to the 'inner man' the law only you and God need know if you break, I guess it makes some feel they a bit better if they much stress you must go to church on a Saturday. It makes them feel they are being more loyal to God than others are. They might also tithe their money, do a few good deeds, know the literal words of the bible inside out. For they have done much bible study. They may not get drunk, have sex outside of marriage, use foul language or smoke. And they figure in reality, despite what they say in public that will enable them to get to Heaven
The problem is, the Pharisees of Jesus day would have passed all those tests with flying colours, yet they did not know God according to Jesus. For though they could faultlessly obey the legalistic law, they were corrupted on the inside

What they don't see is that by judging others by a standard they do not keep themselves...they are breaking the Royal law to love others as your self.... God will speak to them on that great and terrible Day.


Jas 4:11 ¶ Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Yes, and whatever measure you use to judge others will be used to judge you.

You only do as you have testified above, because Christ said doing so is fulfilling the two greatest commandments. It is a literal law written down for you in the scriptures therefore you keep it. If there wasn't a written command from Christ telling you to do this you would not observe it. Therefore are you guilty of legalism, doing that which you claim only because it is a written law of scripture. .

No, before I had read the new testament, or the ten commandments I knew I should love God and my neighbour. You see, the law God wants me to keep was written on my mind and placed on my heart at the point of conversion.


I also know many people demand all of the literal commands of Christ are obeyed when they do not try and obey them all themselves.

Carry each others burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ Gal 6:2
