Just want to remind everyone what the New Testament clearly teaches....That all the law...every commandment, is fulfilled in love "He who loves has fulfilled the law. So God took us out of the legalistic code "letter" and put us under love "Spirit" ..

So love fulfills the law, not legalism!

I keep asking, how do we love God and how do we love our neighbor?

But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages, to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself Heb 9:26

Jesus said:

The worlds sin is unbelief in me John 16:9

Why did he not say:

The worlds sin is transgression of the law?

What is wrong is when one begins to believe that there is only one side. the Law is the definition of right and wrong. It is also the instruction for loving.
Loving whom?
We have all sinned and transgressed the Law and Grace is the unearned, undeserved forgiveness that God has provided for us by the death of His Son in our stead.
True statement.
We need the Law to show us sin and we need Grace to forgive our sin.
Another true statement. How does that obligate us to keeping the Sabbath as Saturday? Righteousness never came by the law. Sin and transgression cannot come by grace.

God and neighbor...

God - Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Neighbor - Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

Because that is God's Commandment, you know, number four.

If you love God, keep His Commandments.

We are no less obligated to keep the other nine. John explained it quite well...

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

John (Yahchanan) 15:4-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

Romans 13:9-10, "For the commandments: You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bring false testimony, You shall not covet, and all other commandments are summed up in these Laws; namely: You must love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

Mattithyah 22:36-40, "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? Yahshua said to him: You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

We cant " love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might" if we ignore what He says is loving Him....

Exodus 20:6, "But showing love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws."

Romans 8:5-8 (ESV), "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

Romans 8:5-8, "For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), Yahweh; for it his not subject to the Law of Yahweh, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are of the flesh cannot please Yahweh."

1 John 5:2-3 (ESV), "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome."

John 15:5 [SUP] [/SUP]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

What's this fruit that is produced???

Galatians 5:22-23
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Which of these fruit would cause disobedience to any of His Commandments?

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Without the Lord Jesus we can do nothing. Meaning, if He doesn't grow the fruit, it does not get grown. His commandments aren't burdensome because we don't work at them. He does the work of obedience in our lives. He does the work of Holiness in our lives. He does the work of Righteousness in our lives.

Our work is to abide in Jesus Christ, by faith. He won't make any of us ashamed who believe in Him, and in Him Alone.

How are we saved? By faith in Christ.
How are the fruit of Righteousness grown in us? By faith in Christ.
How are we made clean? By faith in Christ.
How do we come to know what love is? By faith in Christ.
How do we come to know what peace is? By faith in Christ.
How do we come to know what joy is? By faith in Christ.
How do we come to know Wisdom and Knowledge? By faith in Christ.

All of my blessings have come by faith in Christ and His Work.

Proverbs 3:1-7
[SUP]1[/SUP]My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Let thine heart keep my commandments? How does the heart keep commandments?

Ok.

So how does the heart keep commandments?

#6 - Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Mat 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Mat 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Mat 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Mat 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

#7 - Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Mat 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Mat 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

Mat 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Mat 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Mat 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Mat 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Mat 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Mat 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
Mat 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Mat 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Perhaps you could also explain what I should do to love my neighbor.

Well your ability to love others is directly related to your understanding of how Christ has loved you.....cant put the cart before the horse... :) How has He loved you?

If a person is not taking a day of rest, we should rebuke them just as we would if they had any other open sin.

We are called to a weekly day of rest, to reset our focus away from earthy affairs and labors, and refresh our bodies and minds. I have no comment on Saturday vs Sunday, as such squabbles are utterly meaningless. I don't have any trust in the calendars kept by men, and only trust in the Spirit that the command is given.

There are several aspects of Sabbath to be pointed out. It is a physical and a spiritual rest. Rest from the world through practice and through faith in Christ. It will be made manifest on the Last Day (the Day of the Lord) and will be the Highest Sabbath of all Sabbaths. It is into this rest that we also place our hope, as the One we have placed our faith in is Lord of the Sabbath.

God has given us temporary rest in the present, as a gift to all mankind,
and promises a future rest, as a gift to His Elect.

Just as the Sabbath is set apart from days of pursuing earthly labors,
so we are called to be a people set apart from the pursuit earthly desires.

Let thine heart keep my commandments? How does the heart keep commandments?

By focusing of YHWH in truth and always letting the Sent One (Yahshua) of YHWH lead us in all things, not saying I never get off track, but allowing the Shepherd to lead in all things, even the reading of the Instructions, as that is the only way to read them. For if lying men never got in the mix, readers of Scripture would never even had imagined a change, as the Messiah says and prophesied that there would be no change and Danily prophesied that evil men would "think" to change, but when people follow mystery babylon instead of the Lamb they will have doctrines not based in the Word, which is the Spirit... and thus things will be changed in the minds of men:

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against Yahweh, and will wear out the saints of Yahweh, and think to change times and Laws..."

People following the "one in the center" (or any pastor beside the one true pastor) are usually lost in this matter, I used to be.

Isayah 66:17, "They who sanctify themselves*, and purify themselves in the gardens, following after the "priest in the midst" of those who eat swine's flesh, that which is offered to gods and the rodent--will be consumed together: says Yahweh."

The Hebrew text renders this phrase: following the one in the center, rather than: one behind the other, as in the King James version. This ONE in the center is an idolatrous PRIEST or PREACHER. A Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon to the Old Testament by Julius Furst, Page 1463.

Ezekiel 20:12, "Moreover, I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that *I am Yahweh Who sanctifies them."

*Sign is Word #226, Hebrew Dictionary, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, meaning mark, token, sign, consent, flag, evidence of consent.

I am not perfect but I know His standard is and I know the world is brought to destruction because people want nothing to do with it... for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it:

Isayah 24:1-6, "Behold, Yahweh makes the earth empty and makes it waste, perverts the face of it and scatters abroad its inhabitants; And it will be: as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his owner; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with him who takes usury, so with him who gives usury to him: The land will be utterly emptied and utterly plundered, for Yahweh has spoken this word. The earth mourns and fades away, the world mourns and fades away, and the haughty people of the earth languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants of it, because they have transgressed the Laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting covenant. Because of this, the curse has devoured the earth, and they who dwell therein are desolate; therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left."

2 Thess 2:6-12, "For the mystery of iniquity (secret initiation of lawlessness*) is already working, but the One restraining him will continue to restrain him, until he is made to appear in the midst. And then that lawless one will be revealed, whom Yahshua will remove with the breath of His mouth, and make powerless with the appearance of His coming-- Whose coming is according to the energy of Satan, who works with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of sin in those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason, Yahweh will send them strong delusion, that they would believe the deception, In order that all those may be judged as not having believed the truth, but as having delighted in sin."

*What is the "mystery of iniquity" ?

3466 mustérion
mustérion: a mystery or secret doctrine
Short Definition: anything hidden, a mystery
Definition: a mystery, secret, of which initiation is necessary;

458 anomia
anomia: lawlessness
Short Definition:lawlessness, iniquity
Definition: lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin

We must abide in Him and is word o the adversary is there to mislead us, we must hold fast to Him.

Hey all! I don't get to visit as much as I would like to these days, so forgive me if these verses have already been mentioned, but regardless.......

Was the Sabbath abolished?
No.
Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

Should Christians observe the 4th commandment?
Yes.
Or is it still in effect like the other 9 commandments?
Yes.

Please respond with biblical evidence :)
Exodus 3:16-17 "So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’17 It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed."

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which please Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

Romans 9:6-8, "However, it is not as though Yahweh's plan had failed. For it is not everyone who is a descendant of Israyl who belongs to Israyl. Nor, just because they are his descendants, are they all Abraham's children; but: In Isaac will your seed be called. That is, it is not those who are the children of the flesh who are Yahweh's children; but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's seed."

Psalm 105:6-9, "O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Yaaqob, His chosen ones! He is Yahweh our Father! His judgments are in all the earth. He has remembered His covenant forever, the Law He commanded for a thousand generations; Which He made; ratified, established, with Abraham, and vowed by His oath to Isaac. He confirmed it; let it stand, to Yaaqob for a Law, and to Israyl for an everlasting covenant."

Galations 3:28-29, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Messiah Yahshua. And if you are Messiah’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise."

Psalm 89:26-37, "He will call out to Me; You are my Father, O Yahweh! You are the Rock of my salvation! And I will make Him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him. And I will establish his Seed forever, and his throne will be as the days of heaven. Should his children forsake My Law, and refuse to walk in My judgments; Should they profane My statutes, and fail to keep My commandments; Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes from the whip. Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly withdraw from him, nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. My covenant I will not break, nor will I change what that has gone out of My lips. Once for all, I have vowed by My holiness--I cannot lie, and I say to David: His Seed will endure forever, and his throne will endure before Me like the sun. His throne will be established forever like the moon: the faithful witness in the sky."
