So let me get this straight are we saying the cookie is Jesus salvation.
If that is the case then look at it this way, if you give somebody a cookie. They don't touch it, eat it, and just leave it sitting on the counter meaning it is useless just sitting there. And then later decide they don't want it can they throw it away? Yes
so in other words, they never recieved it, They had it in their grasp. but never took it.. So how can they thrwo away something they never recieved?

This is the same as the bible describes as a non-active faith that is not built upon.
If it isn't an active faith then hardships and deception can easily come in and snatch it away because that faith was not fully rooted in Him. It was just a profession but not a true loving faith they had for Him.

That is a dead faith, and according to james, no one was ever saved by dead faith,

again, how can someone throw away something they never recieved.

And the cookee in question is not just a cookee, it is an item which will change your life, and make you complete in him, Are you telling me that cookee is just going to sit there and not do anything?

Oh how you belittle the gospel of Christ, Your gospel has no power. it can just sit there and do nothing.

Ken, the meaning of pistis (faith) is to be persuaded.

God the Father draws (drags! lol) us to Christ...He persuades us...He gives faith to believe. :)

it is absolutely the most wonderful thing in the world, the grace of God in Christ.
from beginning to end...Alpha to Omega...Author to Finisher...
it's all God's work of grace! :)

That is pistis that you gave as the Greek word for believe is pisteuo.
But they are still continuation words that as long as you keep the faith/belief then you will be persuaded/assured/expect to receive salvation/eternal life....

pisteuó: to believe, entrust
Original Word: πιστεύω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: pisteuó
Phonetic Spelling: (pist-yoo'-o)
Short Definition: I believe, have faith in
Definition:

1. intransitive, to think to be true; to be persuaded of; to credit, place confidence in;

a. universally: the thing believed being evident from the preceding context, with an accusative of the thing, to credit, have confidence,

b. specifically, in a moral and religious reference, πιστεύειν is used in the N. T. of "the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of his soul"; thus it stands α. absolutely to trust in Jesus or in God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something:

The cookie is the gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. It is teaching you thru circumstance, thru relationship....sharpening you as you perservere under the hardship that this fallen world brings as it fills you til your cup overflows and spills over into the people in your sphere of influence.

Sorry to hear that, as my kidney's and liver came back after the 4 months on dialysis.
I was very close to being put on the transplant list tell they came back, and I thank God everyday for that.

He has brought me through and healed me of a lot of ailments, as I also once suffered from seizures as well but have not had one in over 10 years now......All thanks be to God !!!

Look lets all stop the belittling and unedifying language toward others as that is a clear command from Paul to not do as born again believers. I don't belittle, use name calling, and unedifying language toward you all just because you don't see it the same way as I do.

As long as we all are living His will in our life, and not doing our own will then salvation/eternal life will be giving to us rather you believe it is yours now or the physical possession comes at the resurrection as I and some others do !!!

No one is going to go from a state of being an enemy of God, A sinner, A person so steeped in pride, that everything he does is for self. to a point of falling on their knees and begging for Gods mercy in ten minutes. This is rediculous, it took me weeks, maybe months to realise this, and finally fall on my knees, True faith (assurance) comes from a work of God, and this work takes time God has to break us before we will come to him. That takes alot more than ten minutes.
Correct . . . Since the holy Spirit is birthed [born again] in us, we could use the analogy of being pregnant - One hears the word usually not just ONCE but over a period of time - his faith comes as he hears and believes and when that trust in God becomes not just head knowledge but enters that person's heart - godly sorrow for his past life emerges and he realizes he is in need of a savior - he confesses Jesus as Lord, believes God raised him from the dead and God creates spirit within that person - God in Christ dwell within him. He is now a born again believer - he is saved. Now that little baby starts out crawling, then he learns to walk and that learning to walk is a life long process! :)

I don't care for nuts in cookies and brownies.
I like eating cashews and honey roasted peanuts by themselves, but never been a fan of them in anything for some reason.
Maybe because they taint the flavor of the other...................LOL

Hey I take the heated and belittling behavior from others as glory, as the Lord clearly states we will be hated for standing up for His word.
So even though I pray and wish some of my fellow brothers and sisters will stop with this type of behavior. I still praise God for receiving such attitudes because the world hates His righteousness..........

Now you see Ken, ....this is where I wish there was a "sort of like" button to hit.
You started off nice, and then that last sentence?

I'm confused brother?

Forgive me if I'm wrong,....but are you implying that we "hate" or debate you, because you are "righteous", and we are not, and/or still need "to get there"?

Oh well, I will not debate you on that.:(
