Marijuana is just a stepping stone that leads to other drug abuse ,it's fact.I've heard all the pro's & con's on the manner. And by experience I do know, like many others.Marijuana used over time does not sustain the high, that your body depends on after long periods of usage.More you use Marijuana the less and less the high sustains you. That's why lot of people use stronger drugs to sustain that high.I have two brothers that marijuana was their stepping stone now their crack addicts.Same with a lot of my childhood friends.I used Marijuana myself and tried and done harder drugs.I've been drug free over 15 years TY JESUS!!!! Do i think it's ok to do DRUGS...NO.Do" YOU" actually believe that GOD would want us to come before him stoned out our minds???NO.Far as i know Marijuana is a control substance and against the LAW in most states.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_Substances_Act

Romans 13:1-7 states, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”

This passage makes it abundantly clear that we are to obey the government God places over us. God created government to establish order, punish evil, and promote justice (Genesis 9:6; 1 Corinthians 14:33; Romans 12:8). We are to obey the government —paying taxes, obeying rules and laws, and showing respect. If we do not, we are ultimately showing disrespect towards God, for He is the One who placed that government over us.

You see,This is the false impression of once saved always saved. We can't do what ever we want, it don't work that way. We have to follow Gods will and be an example of Him, and when we sin we repent and sin no more. This is an exact example of why this phrase is taught wrong. Well.... I know I am going to get blasted for this comment and that if fine but it needed to be said.

Thank you! Finally someone that thinks the same as me. I was taught that very same thing, but i started to wounder if i was wrong because i read different threads saying that we can commit suicide and other stuff and still go to heaven and that we are always saved. Then i posted a video that my friend made and wanted to share it with people. but guess what? they dont agree. They think you can do anything and go to heaven regardless. Its sad. And FYI i posted that sarcastic to show how incorrect theres people are and that the young generation think they can go out drinking, partying, getting high, and they are still Christian. That is sad.
Anyway heres the video i posted and got alot of negative feedback on:

No bashing from me....your right.. A person can backside and person can turn away from God also.

I sincerely believe the ‘once saved always saved’ concept to be taught wrong. The implication that once someone becomes a REAL Christian they are saved and that they can’t backslide or commit a sin which would rob them of that inheritance.

To the people who would say that I really wasn’t saved when I was young. I just point them back to John 3:16. I did believe in the salvation of Jesus I was very much involved with my local church. But, i had so much abuse and anger in my life, I backslided and not just a little way either!:( I fell all the way into the pit and Satan had me fully in his grasp. Saved? No way. The Lord gave us the power of freewill, and I had exercised mine to be a servant of evil.

“We have nothing of our own but our will. It is the only thing which God has so placed in our own power that we can make an offering of it to Him.” St John Vianney (The Curé d’Ars – 1786-1859)

If God didn’t want us to be able to choose He would not have given us the gift of freewill. It is this gift which places us above the animals. It is this gift which allows us to choose to either worship God or not worship God. It is this gift, and only this gift, which allows us to truly love Him . It is this gift which proves that ‘once saved, always saved’ is being taught wrong.

If we are saved in spite of ourselves then there is no freewill. If there is no freewill then the Bible is wrong!

I don’t believe that the Bible is wrong...

And above is what i believe might not be the views of others ;)

Shew!!!! Thank God, I thought you were serious. All I can say is go by what the Bible says. If we read some of the posts in here we will be lead astray. Sometimes I think sarcasm can prove a point, as it just did.
As far as suicide goes, this is a hard one for me because my mom committed suicide. Was she wrong? Yes, she was. But I saw first hand the mental pain she was going through. She tried everything but back in the 60's and 70's not much was known about schizophrenia and other mental illness. Is she going to Heaven or Hell? I don't know, God is the judge and I will leave it with Him. I don't know if she repented as she lay dying. Thank you for your post, and yes I do expect to get negative responses back from what I wrote. But I will give all the negative to God and not stress over it. GBU.

I understand that you disagree with it, as do I. But you don't need to say it in every single thread. I also believe that you can lose your salvation, but it isn't necesary to say it on every single thread.

When someone tries to make an arguement that it's no worse than alcohol, or it's not really that bad. It usually means their trying to find a reason to do it. In deu 18:9-15, God told them not to do what the people ahead of them were doing. In those verses he said not to practice sorcery. Which comes from the greek word pharmacy. In other words don't do mind altering drugs. Anything that seperates us from God is sin. Smoking pot changes your state of mind. You should be ashamed of yourself if you ever tell someone it doesn't matter. Everything matters to our Lord.

I mean the effects may be seen when you are older. I was a C student when I was 15 and A by the time I was 18, you might go in reverse. And yes if you wait until you are older and developed then your brain will not be effected during its growth stages yeah?

As long as we focus on our relationship with Christ than that will push the sin our of our lives and for the record pot sucks and it almost destroyed my life but thank the good Lord that his grace was sufficient for me and he never left me or forsook me.I am still paying consequences for heavy drug use but God is moving me forward to warn others about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.

Oh yeah tyflo21 if you want to be like everyone else in the world and do drugs and things that's fine but it's nothing special, it's rather common and most girls hate it, and employers, and you won't be able to do it if you go into professional sports. There's people in the world starving who don't have enough food to eat and all you can worry about is getting high.
