This is a weekend of disappointments.
While I was waiting for the last loaf of bread to cook (WHY do I always wind up with a multiple of 4 PLUS ONE loaves? cooking one loaf seems such a waste of time!) I decided I would pop down to the store and see what was left from the valentine's day candy. I wanted to make sure there would be something worthwhile to go for before I stayed up until midnight to get it on sale. Well... I'm glad that I made the trip and took a look instead of staying up until midnight. There was nothing, I mean NOTHING worthwhile. Oh sure, there were a few big hearts filled with kit kats, m&ms, etc but there was no real chocolate left. I got a tub of Blue Bell southern peach cobbler ice cream and went home to take the last loaf of bread out of the oven.
Today they are saying snow will begin falling around 6-ish, so they canceled church tonight. Major disappointment. I like going to church, being around normal people (as opposed to the grumps at work, which I do not consider habitual grumpiness to be normal) and praising God with others who are of like mind.
Speaking of which, since when does two inches of snow mean everything shuts down? I could drive in a foot of snow and get to my destination safely. Shoot there aren't even any hills worth the name "hill" around here. I learned to drive in east TN where we have more snow, more ice and real hills. These people down here in west TN would never make it up there. But they're my friends and kinfolk and I love them anyway - just irritates me when they panic over a whole, big, whopping two inches of snow.
