Waking up
Diving in
Forgetting what's around me
And allowing the waters to override the scenery.
Embraced by the deep depths of the Lord's love.
Abide and forgetting what's there to distract
Because preparation for the Lord's second coming is the heavenliest act.

Denial
Purity
Love
Christ.

-Sometimes it is easy to forget that we are supposed to deny ourselves and carry our crosses. -

Between work and the Ash Wednesday service, I was at home only a little bit - long enough for a much needed shower (I had skipped, don't judge me!) and to grab a bite. I totally forgot that in addition to accompanying the choir and everything else, I had to play some sort of prelude. Instead of eating, I hurriedly looked through my music, finding some sort of no-name, interlude piece that I could attach to a concert version of "Think About His Love," as both were in the same key. I had time for one run-through before dashing to church. It ended up sounding pretty cool.

Seriously, though. It's 2 am and I'm wide awake again. Someone just hit me on the head with a frying pan so I can get some sort of sleep. Sure, the side effect might be a headache....but I dunno. I think I'll get a headache either way at this point from lack of sleep.

Have you tried Melatonin? It's natural and over-the counter....it works.

Well I woke up about 4am with five hours of sleep and couldn't get back to sleep. And we have a corporate inspection at work today.

Dark chocolate, GO!

So, i'm in the south where all the cold temps are. We had snow a few days ago and while much has melted there are some spots still remaining. In particular my driveway. Which i failed to realize is on an incline. I've never really driven on ice before, but believed i had thought it through well enough. I was wrong. I ended up hitting the house. The brick porch, so no damage to the house, my car, on my first glance, showed no damage, but will have to inspect it closer later. I'm mostly fine, though i think i'm still frazzled a bit by the whole thing.
Then i walk inside and much to my surprise my dad is sitting there and doesn't mention me hitting the house, despite him having a straight on view. Turns out he was sick most of the night, including a high fever, during which he said he was mildly hallucinating. He was having pain around his pancreas (where he had cancer 10 years ago) and having nausea. My brother was already on the way to pick up my dad. They left not long ago.
So what started out as a good morning has turned a bit nerve wracking. Please pray.

I think the biggest thing getting me through this week is "He has something better, and its coming"
I have to repeat this to myself every time I feel upset about the trials I'm facing right now.

thanks grace and gypsygirl

I'll try the shower/ heating thing, if I can stand standing up long enough :p
(jaw pain has been replaced by headache)

I called 111, which is basically a not- emergency- but - "no doctor available service", but they just refer you to your doctor .... so no help there :p I called the doctor to ask if there were any cancellations but there werent, the person I spoke to wouldn't even advice me on what to do to care for myself.

and: no worries, so far I only have paracetamol and ibuprofen, taken in doses given on the pacaging.
the chewing pain killers comment was because I am used to taking one pill and be happy, while I've now been taking them at the max dose since Saturday. I wonder how strong stuff one can use without a prescription, and whether it would have any effect anyway. Will have to ask at the pharmacy once I can bother to leave the house.

apparently the medical portal where my mum works says decongestants, painkillers and see a doctor after a week, so I guess it isn't deadly :p

...............

lil: do give therapy a try. People are different , so even if there are some whom it doesn't help, it can be helpful to others.

My parents have been occasionally been dropping off containers of some of the meals my Mom makes. Yesterday was one of my favorites, though Catherder would not approve (my Mom is not a cook and yes, it was a casserole made with CANNED SOUP :), but it's a childhood fave of mine.)

You know how they have those volunteer programs where you deliver meals to shut-in seniors?

I joked with my parents that I must be on the "SENIORS Delivering Meals On Wheels" program.

And it's been pretty great, especially with me trying to catch up on sleep in between night shifts. (Now if only I could talk them into a Take-and-Drop-Off Laundry Service :D.)
