Those who know my testimony can tell you what I do. Such things are not for winning arguments.
You have a horrible habit of calling others legalists without any sign of legalism from them.
You need to repent of this. It is divisive and fruitless.
There really are TRUE legalists on this forum, and yet you targeted this thread?
Lol.Look if I use the term "legalist" and it convicts you...then maybe you need to ask God if you have some issues to resolve?
Point to and quote a single error.
Lol.
If I used the phrase "cheap grace" and you were convicted...
I never have used that phrase,When I see the term greasy grace...I know Im dealing with a person who really don't understand the truth of the gospel.
"Probably a legalist".No, I see someone who is probably a legalist and should be reproved according to scripture![]()
I never have used that phrase,
however when people cheapen grace to the point of it being insufficient to entirely cover our sins,
or to the point of it not being worth any response from us,
I call it "cheap grace".
What would grace be, to you, if we didn't perform what you might consider sufficient effort in responding to it?I never have used that phrase,
however when people cheapen grace to the point of it being insufficient to entirely cover our sins,
or to the point of it not being worth any response from us,

"Probably a legalist".
Obviously you don't read anything I post.
I do forgive you,You know what Sophia...I surrender to you on this issue and I think I was wrong in how I seen what you was trying to say...Forgive me please in the Name of the Lord?
Sufficient response? None of us can respond sufficiently. What would grace be, to you, if we didn't perform what you might consider sufficient effort in responding to it?
Then how can you or I make a statement like this?Sufficient response? None of us can respond sufficiently.
"however when people cheapen grace to the point of it being insufficient to entirely cover our sins,
or to the point of it not being worth any response from us,
I call it "cheap grace"."
Striving is not to get TO God, but is what we are called to do once we already are in Christ.
We are secure in our salvation... and given a job to do now that we are there.[/QUOTE

once a Christian is called, they will forever strive to honor and please not only their Maker,
but also their brethren,
just as a woman must strive to bring forth the fruit of her womb, so must a true Christian
strive to bring forth loving, lovely, fruits from their new hearts.
we must never forget that the 'wiley-one' is the one we wrestle with -
the contest is, are we going to serve the flesh or are going to walk in the Spirit?
our experience has shown us that there will always be a 'tug-of-war' in our daily walk,
like Paul says,
'I die daily.'
No, I see someone who is probably a legalist and should be reproved according to scripture![]()
I understand fully, as I have seen and felt that same damaging mentality,
But going to the opposite extreme is a serious issue too.
Paul tells us to run the race. He tells us to pursue holiness and good work.
Being active for the Kingdom is something we are called to, and putting off the distractions and affairs of this world is a major part of that.
I see so many, in my own congregation, who are stuck in a spiritual rut.
They are either overcome by sin: fighting against it by their own strength, and failing, and getting depressed over it.
Or they are consumed with "Christian culture", distracted by worldly affairs of politics, conspiracy theories, wars and rumors of wars, or just trying to look the part of a "good Christian".
Or they are in a rut of self-focused spirituality, where the personal experience is all that matters, and things like doctrine are not important, and ministering/sharing with others is not a focus.
Some people push doctrine away, as if Truth is relative to their experiences,
Others push spiritual things and experiencing God's love away, as if God's love and grace is supposed to be scholastic only.
And still others push cultural things as the focus, as if looking the part and voting the part somehow make us real Christians.
There is a balance, and it is found in the Word. We are to be confident in Christ, humble of self, and active for the Kingdom. The rest we have is spiritual, eternal, and an amazing blessing. This rest in Christ is not in opposition to us being active hard working laborers for the Kingdom.
But you are right in your assessment that meat can choke those young in Christ, and that they need milk first.
However, many of the groups I mentioned aren't just giving milk. They are giving milk mixed with poison.
It's as though God eased up to you and whispered this directly in your ear. Grace does seem so difficult for some people who insist on somehow paying for it.
You know what? The sooner you realize you are not the Holy Spirit, is the moment the spirit of truth will come upon you...
It could be a matter of what words mean to you and words as used in scripture ...but yes we labor in the Word...and grace empowers us unto good works...but you enter into grace by ceasing from your own works and into the rest of God.
